  • This is a retake, and it's the morning version.
There are two large beautiful octagonal scenic elevators at this amazing hotel, and 2 staff elevators (one of them is today a mixed-use one).
This atrium is probably the best in Finland - it looks very American. The hotel underwent a big renovation during 2015-16, and all the rooms were renovated. This hotel is really nice, a bit expensive but there are affordable deals for this hotel also, and it is indeed one of the best hotels in Helsinki!
Location: Hilton Hotel Helsinki Strand, Helsinki, Finland
    Brand: KONE
    Type: Fast Traction, Scenic
    Year installed/upgraded: Late 1987 - Early 1988, completed in October 1988 / 2003 (estimated)
    Floors served: 8 (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8)
Capacity: 21 persons or 1600 kg
    Serial: H 64295 (right) & H 62496 (left)
Note: A key card is needed to go to floors 3-8. The only drawback is the fact that they do not go down to the parking lot on floors -1 and -2, although since the renovation, one of the 2 staff elevators has become a mixed-use elevator and can be used to go to the parking lot! This hotel was constructed during 1984-1988 and used to be called the Intercontinental Helsinki Strand from the time it opened in October 1988 until it was rebranded as a Hilton Hotel in 2003. When constructed, it was the most expensive hotel building in the 1980s in Finland! The granite was brought from Lapland, there are also marble floors and walls, and diagonal shapes and octagonal shapes on the scenic elevators. Also, there is a fountain between the lobby floor (1) and the mezannine floor (2). The renovation of the 2nd floor was not completed at the time of filming. The pool area on the top floor contains an aquarium on the side of it! Very beautiful interiors, and they retained a lot of the original sophisticated interiors.

I think these are original. those buttons are another version of Kone M-Series buttons. They were mostly used in mid to high-rise Kone elevators in the 1980s-1990s.

Yes they are indeed original since 1988 and in great condition, but it sounds like the machine has been upgraded around the early 2000s, and also the KONE M-series chime has been muted, and there are no black bumpers in the doors so the door technique must have also been upgraded.
