Thanks. This one was an unplanned video. I was not planning on doing anything but the ignition, but on e I dug in stuff needed replaced and the owner brought a new wheel lol
Great video, just what I needed to see. One question, I am about to buy a turn signal switch assembly from Heartbeat city camaro. Did your 4 way hazard light switch screw into the new turn signal switch, or somewhere else? (my 4 way switch is missing). Thanks!!!
Good video. Not sure if there's other videos that go through each step like this. Threw me off a little when you were ready to bolt on the wheel. Was that a spacer you ended up using to bring the steering wheel out?
Question, I installed a new quick ratio steering box (72 Nova also) and now the steering wheel is way off from center. Can I use this same process to rotate that locking plate (and the little plastic channel the horn wire goes through) to re center my wheel? Looks like the many notches around the edge of the locking plate allow for rotation left and right, but not sure. Never tried it. Thoughts?
I am assuming your not to far off so the steering wheel is kinda crooked. If you already adjusted it with the shaft under the hood you could slighty move the plate since its splined and get a little more adjustment out of it
@@EfurdGarage Long story short, 1/4 turn off to the passenger side at the wheel. Can't adjust on the rag joint, it's a flat surface with set screw style rag joint (and box). So no adjust there. Trying to get creative and find a way to center the wheel using locking plate.
Do you have other videos how to stereo sounds on a 72 nova. I also have a 72 nova. Also How do I know my front clip is crooked or not? I couldn’t see yours
you should be able to stand in the back and look down both sides, take a tape measure and either measure from center to center of each wheel and see the difference from drivers to passengers, or measure from rear corner of one fender to opposite corner of the other fender then do the opposite (example start at passengers fender rear by door and measure to drivers side front corner, then measure drives rear by door just like the before same area and go to the passengers side front, making a big x. should be about the same measurement,) if your subframe is straight you could just look at the gaps between door and fender as long as the doors have the same amount of gap around the cab.
I got a green plastic cover over my signal switch anyone got an idea of what it is and how i can take it off in the process of replacing it right now. Thanks. (74apollo)
@@EfurdGarage i got it off the thing broke in the process it was some kind of disc for the horn im assuming everything went well but my turn signal lever doesn't click back once i make a turn dont know what would cause that
it would make it a little easier at first with the steering wheel lock but no just make sure everything is correct with the tumbler and rest of it while the wheel and everything is off
@@EfurdGarage well I put flathead in the hole just like your video and hammered it little to get it in, the ignition(still in the on position) was able to slide out a little but stopped like something was catching
@@johnlatimer7348 i havent come across that myself but seems you may have to use something to lube it up or maybe freeze off. should be able to carefully work it loose a little at a time. also one thing i do on the older stuff from time to time is use a spare key and apply a little grease so it greases the inside of the tumbler a little
A FANTASTIC video. I hope I can replace my turn signal switch under 30 minutes. Great education, keep up the great videos.
Thanks, i hope it helps
Very,very, 👍 good video.Thanks
Thank you! your welcome
Thanks. Great refresher! You da man!!

Thanks for the video. Going from an aftermarket back to an original on my 70 Nova.

Great video buddy this helped a lot
Glad it could help
Great video, I have to replace my Chevelle’s steering wheel and turn switch
Thanks
That was the lock cylinder set , not the ignition switch ,but thanks for sharing !
Thanks for watching
Did you have to use a horn relay in order for your horn to work. If not please explain why. Thanks
Didn't mess with it. Left it stock just fixed what was in the column which was where this issue was
Bravo sir..good step by step video
Thanks much. And thanks for watching
What are the two brass pieces for? I took mine out and another piece of metal fell down the column.
im trying to think, they only ones that come to mine are part of the switch and if not mistaken is made into it
Great video as always.

I have 70 nova I want a tilt streering wheel colunm what is a direct replacement
I unfortunately couldn't tell you, I would thank they make an aftermarket replacement but ididit makes one, i just have never used them
What does the pink and black wire that wraps around the cam do. Mines was attached to 2 tabs now I can’t get it back on
honestly i dont recall without having to find something on it.

It's the spacer that comes with that style wheel. It does bring it out, but that style steering wheel is way to flat not to have it.

@@The67Crucible yea you should get that with moving the plate and wheel, cant say it will be perfect but im sure better then a 1/4 off
Does this car have tilt or no tilt
i dont recall. its been awhile
