We got a hint this could happen when Lucifer caught Charlie and Adam was trying to attack them from behind Charlie for a moment started to go "beast mode" and her right arm transformed into a larger demonic claw with the classic power veins on it that caught Adam's attack surprising him. So we got some idea there that Charlie was still holding herself back, unable to tap into the rage of the demon.

Because once Charlie has lost everything (Lucifer, Alastor, Rosie and Vag), well then she has nothing to lose. And nothing is (in theory) more dangerous than someone with nothing left to lose.
