I didn't realize it was just one energica out there, but thats amazing. I wonder if more electric bikes might get into this. Now to share this in all the motorcycle discord servers I'm in
Honestly I was hoping for better results, but it's still damn good. That EV beat a load of ICE bikes. Respect to Team Energica, good job to ALL involved. Thank you for covering this, good job to you also. When and where is the next race?
They were just hoping to finish. There was a lot of concerns about the many high speed straight away, the temp, the new tires, the rider that was new to the bike. How many manufactures or new teams get a 5th place first week out, eh? They all put a ton of effort into it and it’s really impressive what they’ve done, agreed!
5th out of 28 for a new team is rather welcome. Also this track represents the worst case scenario as it's full of high speed straightaways and it's 3.5 miles long. Couple that with a mid-race restart with added warmup laps and this race pushed the bike to limits it wasn't set up for. And to still take 5th? Heck yeah!
They wouldn’t answer about charging, but I looked up the Roadie and the various stacks they used were something like 6-12kW CCS. So, not great. Also, they plugged and unplugged it several times, so may have had an issue with it. First race, lots of bugs to shake out. They’ll only do better from here!
@@ZeroFun interesting, was the battery enough for the entire race? was the race less than 100 miles? just curious. It's awesome it went up against ICE bikes
Yup, lasted, and with enough to do a wheelie at the end! The race was...15 or 18 miles? At 161MPH, the battery gets used FAST though. Yeah, very awesome that it held its own against ICE!
Man that was so intense! Great editing. Great racing. Great electric motorcycle.
Just great. Keep racing and show what EV can do.
Exciting to watch. Looking forward to watching energica race other ebikes.
Right? Consumer tech with some minor upgrades. Makes you wonder what’s next…

Are you the one getting me all that discord traffic? Thanks man!

Oh, The Ridge, in Washington, June 23-25th. I don’t think I’ll be making it there, but I’ll do a wrap up video on it with my weekly news.

how many kW can they charge with on the track? I assume it's modified to be more than 24kw?

Yeah, he was tied for highest MPH on one race. Insane.
You’re so close though, keep going! :)
