So, by default, satan cannot tell the truth, so HAS to lie, he cannot save (as his name represents the polar opposite of Jesus, who saves), so he WILL betray you, he cannot love, so he will HATE you, he cannot give, so he will take from you (for eternity). He's the ultimate 'con'man so satancon is an apt name for this event. Just distill it all down to its base components - satan HAS to represent the opposite of Jesus - that's his/its function as a 'word' in our 'magic' alphabet we inherited from the Phoenicians - nothing can change that. If you align to that word, you're aligning to all that is negative and untrue - he cannot give remember, so any power you think you have gained will be paid for later - and only eternity is enough, as again, this will be the polat opposite of forgiveness - ie eternal punishment. Pretty simple really. The real reason why Jesus is the true nemesis of satanists - not Buddha, not Allah...just Jesus...as the mere word of Jesus is the beacon of truth and goodness...which destroys all that is opposite. Your basic assumption that Satan MUST mean to everyone what he means to you is fundamentally wrong. The Bible's interpretation of Satan and the romantic interpretation of Satan (the one which Satanists draw the symbolism from) are two eniterly different things. To them he is not a manifestation of objective evil, but rather freedom from tyranny and arbitrary authority, bodily autonomy and personal sovereignty - Satan is basicaly an umbrella term that encompasses their values.

It just seems a little hypocritical to preach empathy and compassion and bodily autonomy and then rip up a bible.
