It's really sweet to watch Robert Reed be himself with the adorable Florence Henderson. He's really kind of sassy in real life. It's so heartbreaking that this man who America loved, wasn't able to be his true self with us.
Completely agree. His mannerisms with a dash of sass remind me so much of my late uncle, who was about the same age and also lived with an unacknowledged private life. Also named Robert and known as Bob. RIP.
Watching them together as themselves is a real treat. They have natural chemistry, and you could see how much Florence truly appreciated him. I enjoyed seeing this side of him.
That's my kind of recipe, beef, cheese, sour cream, and biscuits! Not the healthiest but the ultimate comfort food. Thanks Robert! Your legacy still strong
Robert Reed was truly a fantastic actor. His Mike Brady is the quintessential American dad. Better than Bill Cosby "Dr. Huxtable", Ward Cleaver, and any modern day sitcom dad IMO.
Sad these kind of people are dead now because they really knew how to entertain and shows like this were so fun to watch back then. I remember watching this kind of stuff when I was a kid and people just seemed happier. Now everyone yells about politics on t.v nobody has fun anymore.
Well if Reed discussed any LGBT politics back then (like coming out with his truth) he would've been blacklisted by H-wood & boycotted by about half the planet so he wasn't have the same level of fun as Flo who could be her true hetero self & talk about her husband/ male relationships.
Robert also did a part in the 1978 TV series Vega$ with Robert Urich. Would you like to know who played his daughter? Maureen McCormick. R.I.P Bob and Florence.
I'm probably in the minority opinion but I loved the Williams and Ree comedy duo. As a kid watching The Nashville Network I used to watch the show...and, yes, my favorite part was the comedy cooking of Williams and Ree. Their bit was edited in this clip, unfortunately.
Why do people feel the need to point out his sexuality all the damn time? It’s unnecessary and negates everything else about the man. He was a human being with a family and friends and someone who enjoyed his craft. Why is there a need to make this man all about his sexual preference? The preoccupation that some people have in our society about past and present people of notoriety is bizarre and disturbing. We’re all souls just living a human experience.
1:58 - "It's my natural character... coming out..." Dropping a hint there, Bob? Amazed no one picked that up but Florence was clearly surprised he said it. Shame he felt he had to be in the closet, though. Dick Sargeant from Bewitched was in the same boat.
🌟dose anyone remember that Keith Whitley did the cooking show with Florence Henderson whoever has that video of Keith Whitley cooking with Florence Henderson could they upload it to youtube
First of all, so called "Robert Reed" wasn't his real name. There was nothing wrong with his actual birth name, John Robert Rietz Jr He obviously "sold out" his birth name because of the shallowness of the entertainment industry?! Most likely the change was made as the result of a greedy Business Manager, with perceived notions of greater recognition accompanied with monetary gains? In reality, it's also shows blatant disrespect for one's parents & their family heritage, just to possibly obtain (not earn) a greater buck?!
Rip to Florence Henderson & Robert Reed,we still miss you both

Exactly!

I guess Robert Reed in his private life, didn't want anyone to know he was gay!!😔
We’re changing that in this generation!
@@Benito-k6qI don't blame him. His sexual orientation was nobody’s business.
It's pretty easy to spot both Robert & Florence had a great working relationship. The dynamic between the two is relaxed & fun.
A shame they could not have six more guests on this particular episode of Florence Henderson Country Kitchen with her and Robert Reed.
This proves it: Robert & Florence were great actors.
Summerfield He is great beautiful nice soul.
I understand off-camera he was a complicated guy but we all love them just the same rest in peace Robert Reed

This was wonderful, it was great seeing them together again, so many memories..................... Thank you so much for posting :)
Love seeing the two together
caitlin donnell I love Robert
Loved them.
Love the opening of this show with the funny face vegetables and Florence singing "Hey Good Lookin". So fun!
Both not forgotten.
Classic T.V. couple.
God bless them both
I just want to try that recipe, this looks good, and it's very oldschool without the fancy stuff we have now
RIP to the Brady parents Mr reed and ms Henderson you were the best 1992 😇 and 2016😇
corduero rose I love Robert
I love seeing Robert Reed as himself.

Mr. Reed, a consummate stage actor, is a three time Emmy Award nominee and was robbed of the award for his Medical Center performance.
Ward Cleaved didn't pack fudge
@@SM-gl8yo Absolutely robbed. Performance of a lifetime
His performance in Nurse was outstanding
I used to watch this every Saturday afternoon.

Yup. Thats all anyone does, fight, compete or act like porn stars and whores
It seems quieter and slower paced than current shows. Think of Rachel Ray in comparison. She sucks the life out of the room. Very obnoxious.
Flo Henderson was still a fine piece of tail even back then.
@@microbios8586 She sucked!

I used to watch the Brady Bunch and imagine I was the 7th Brady child. Fond memories.
Robert Reed and Florence Henderson will forever be missed 😢😢😢

I met Florence in Toronto in 1976 and got her autograph Lovely lady and she put on a great show
I loved this show back in the day and it is nice to see these two together as themselves.

Didn't matter to me whether he was homosexual or not he was still the father of America back in those days
Yeah, so was Bill Cosby.

Maybie that’s why Alice left lol, he’s a pretty good cook
Johnny Dimsdale has this listed as a 1985 episode but the end date credits say 1987.
The show PREMIERED in 1985. This particular episode aired two years later.
Bob really liked that beef and biscuit casserole.
I can't think of any reason as to why Country Kitchen couldn't be revived and shown on the Heartland Network.

Beautiful piano arrangement
He had a mean look
Wesson oil, the oil to drop in the shower 🚿 with Robert Reed. Oh yeah
Perfect for the Brady Parents
How Robert Reed was treated was so unfair and wrong. He was so underrated as an actor!
seemed like an even more underrated human being
The hell u talking about?? He was a nightmare on the brady bunch set. Refusing to film over the dumbest things. He was a diva
Robert Reed CHOSE to be a difficult actor to work with
I Googled this to see the real Robert Reed. He wasn't overly effeminate. I'm glad he wasn't. This is why he passed as a straight actor.
"lots more goo in between the biscuits"
Love both of them but this is a tough watch.
Yeah, Florence tried too hard to make jokes.
I think she's trying to compensate for his awkwardness. He gets snippy real easy so she keeps it upbeat and movin' along.
He was painfully depressed, and when you have that much depression it’s hard to put on a happy face. Even your happy face looks sad
@@GGMM1579 That is correct my *friend*
I think he comes off rather ok given what he must’ve been dealing with in private. He had a dry sense of humour
Florence was only 51 here, to bad the hair aged her to look 60 plus. She was a beautiful lady
I remember Florence Henderson from missed
Imagine he couldn’t even confide in her about himself….
I can't believe they're both dead. For years now. Where does the time go? 🤔☹️
Here's The Story😂😂😂!
So he couldn't cook???
I can't eat this gravy.... ( I can't have milk products), so the biscuits & gravy is OUT for me
Do you like the goo bob?
It was very much of the time, but his hair was definitely not at it's best like this.
robert reed should have demonstrated cooking hotdogs instead
Why? They would have tasted like shit anyway.
