The most important takeaway from this inspiring podcast is the value of community and a person for others. There is generosity, contentment, simplicity, selflessness, unity. These are the values more imminent in Asia. Mad respect to our indigenous communities. They may seem "uneducated" or materially-deprived. But they are so full of wisdom and rich in values. 🙌

This is what the Lord's prayer is all about...give us today our daily bread. Just enough for today. We cannot hold on from the bread of yesterday just like the story in Exodus with the Israelites in the wilderness how God gives them food for the day but some of them try to hold on to the Manna because they were worried they won't be able to eat tomorrow but when tomorrow comes it gets stale and they cannot eat it. There is a daily bread for a reason and we need to go to God everyday. God gives us what we need each day...just enough for today. Thank you Ms. Kara for sharing. Truly inspiring.

Mam kara, the holy spirit is working through your heart and your pen. God must have wanted you to be the storyteller and reveal the truth of the ills of our society through first-hand experiences and your gift of storytelling. Your empathy may seem like a burden, given how much feeling the pain of others may have taken a toll on your mental and emotional health, but the way I see it, it's a cross that God must have given you to carry, painful and burdensome as it is at times, but it has led you to write documentaries with words full of empathy and compassion. You have opened soo many eyes esp the young who grew up with your show. Iba talaga yung scripts mo po, full of humility, respect, and deference for the people you write about. Yung script mo po, it is an art in itself, it can take a life of its own, kahit nagluluto lang ako tas nakikinig lang ako sa tv, tagos sa puso bawat salita. Di ako usually nanonood ng documentaries kase I grew up watching western documentaries pero exception talaga from I-witness. I'm just soo glad the world recognized your talent through the many awards you received po over the years. The moment I began watching i-Witness, nagbago ang pananaw ko sa mundo. Kung ano yung "problema" na naeexperience ko, everytime natatapos kong panoorin ang isang episode, napapa-isip ako sa sarili ko na tipong "may mas mabigat pa palang nakararanas ng problema kesa sa problema ko ngayon." Tapos kapag natatapos ang show, palaging may open-ended question sa utak ko. That's how i-Witness changed my perspective in life.
