Relatively new to the k-pop scene... This is the first time I'm seeing any solo artist inject a tribute to her culture / traditional dance and instruments - that too for a comeback solo. And of course, the first time I saw any cultural tribute by any group was in Aya by Mamamoo. I can't praise Hwasa enough for being real with her skin tone, and this is why I can't think of any other artist who can grace covers wearing haute couture frequently and then dance to traditional instruments wearing cultural outfits like it's her skin. Korea should be hella proud of Hwasa. She is the first artist from Korea who has made me look into traditional Korean instruments, dance forms and performance outfits.
I love that how that she also showed some traditional music and culture. Some people listen k-pop unconsciously while not paying attention of that music's origins. And South Korea actually has so much to offer, more than k-pop. I hope more people would realize that. And Hwasa is a great representer for that. (someone who's been listening k-pop since 2006)
