This may be just me, but what I loved about that channel is seeing the ring slowly going from unrefined material to a piece of art. Step by step. All those cuts are breaking the magic. I hope you can find a finer balance between raw footage and "mad editing skillz" in the next videos...
kookiz yh I agree about the magic lost. The new intro and the transitions are good but the flashing lights with the house music and the quick changes in footage speed are a bit much
Not sure the editing fits the content very well, feels a bit mainstream yt trend following, I'd tone it down a bit. I think there's more value in watching the artisanal process, rather than a flurry of flashy filters, speed changes, and transitions. Nevertheless, the intro was amazing and the overall quality has improved a lot! And love the ring as always (:
I can agree with this. I think the part that was a little too much for me was the static sound and transition. It felt very zombie apocalypse, found footage like. Other than that, I liked the intro, music, and as always the build. The ring is awesome!
I agree, the music blasting, lense flairs, and speed ups and downs flipping around really took away from the point of the video. for a bit there it felt like the video was more about messing around in editing software than about the ring. Just a bit of toning down and more focus on the rings themselves. I did like the close up shots while youre working, more of those would definitely be interesting
I felt it really added to the artistic aspect of the video! I know this channel is primarily about making rings, but that, of course, is an art form. I agree that it was a tad much, but I really love the creativity used in editing. It honestly makes me even more excited about future videos.
The ring looks wonderful, man. Love the choice of colors on this one in particular. A definite shoutout to Dustin on this video. Those transitions, shots, and intro/outro graphics are top notch! Good luck to the channel in 2018!
That is absolutely gorgeous! Lapis is my favorite stone, it’s lovely seeing rings made out of it! Your videos in general are some of my favorites to share with my sister. She wishes she had the machinery she needed to do this.
I think you should go with a little bit less editing, it's good and adds rhythm to the video, but too much of it and it gets annoying. The ring is beautiful and I hope we'll see one with the red mineral/stone among your samples.
I appreciate the artistry of the editing, but, for me, it's actually really jarring. One of the things I really enjoyed while watching the older videos was seeing the pieces come together during the time lapse instead of jumping around for different shots.
Beautiful ring as always.. And loving the new editor his done a brilliant job and his enjoying it... Keep up the good work can't wait for more videos.💚👌
Intro was amazing, production was great quality, but u have to admit, the transition noises were a bit too much and the blueish tinted filter was distracting because I couldn't really see the real color of the ring!! The editor did a great job though :))))
wow, nice editing. maybe a bit to much of that "WOOSH" sound in the clip transitions, but overall a big improvement. i personally find your rings to be really wide and thick(from visuals alone). all the rings i made were a lot smaller in comparison.
New filming aditor is doing a great job, loved the video even more. Love the lapis lazuli stone the original blue. Keep up the good work man take care.
The new intro and videography and cutaways are pretty nice. Also the slow motion footage here and there is a nice touch. I think this will be very great for your channel. Awesome ring. Looks beautiful. I look forward to seeing what you can acquire from that vendor and expanding the selection of rings. Keep it up man.
Not sure how much feedback you're looking for but here's my constructive input as someone going into film and entertainment editing and such! First of all, LOVE the ring, gorgeous as always Patrick! The new logo and intro are really awesome, though the intro is a little longer than most but I don't particularly mind that. Overall the quality and editing is really good! The snap jumps with the static sound like at 1:03 though are actually startling and very off putting, the black bars obscure the ring a bit too. Just a simple jump cut might be better. The other sliding and moving transitions with the movement sound effect added (like 6:28) are pretty distracting as well and actually can make many people like me and others motion sick while watching (but ones zooming out like in 6:26 or moving/looking up from a table like at 9:44 are okay since they mimic the normal movements of our bodies and eyes and can be nice to spice it up every so often). But the shots and angles were superb, and the slow motion shots even with the sound added (like 6:17) are amazing! The words added like in around 5:39 were funny and not overdone and definitely got a chuckle from me. Overall DAMN nice work and your editor is doing a fine job! Keep making awesome videos my dude :D
i hope the music and edits aren't permanent, the editor was emphasizing random parts of the vid, him cutting circles in the carbon fiber didn't need sound cloud electro and production quality zoom-ins, slow-mo, and sound design my dude. i enjoyed watching videos of him simply work, just building a ring, it's not meant for entertainment in the way this editor is portraying it. i thought i could just sit down and enjoy the work process in which Patrick brought a cool ring concept to life.now it's this up-beat make everything that isn't impressive look impressive and unecessary edits?
I'm in agreement with @Mc8370 here, I'm glad you've got someone to help you out but this kind of content is not what I'm subscribed for. It's your channel and if this is the direction you want to take it then don't let anyone stop you but just keep in mind a lot of your OG subscribers aren't here for the artistic angles and slowmo or the fast-tempo bgm, a lot of us prefer the simple ring making.
Awesome production work my man! Now I see why you didnt upload for a bit, it was worth the wait! Btw you made another ring that would one day be mine, keep it up Patrick! Also tell the Videographer that HE'S AWESOME! 😄
I would to purchase this ring. Or any ring with Lapis. Just recently discovered this stone and Ive fallen in love with. Glad I can see the process of ring making.
Ive been subscribed for about a month or so and its really cool to see your channel grow and improve. Id like to see more videos using different colored carbon fiber. Keep it up
Ayyy looks like you just leveled up! I'm not a fan of how much the screen shakes on the transitions, however. Can't wait to see what you make next. I never thought I would be interested in rings until I found your channel.
The equipment that the ring makers use is most likely a high pressure water jet. I can't say for certain but I operate and perform maintenance on one daily. I love you videos the editing is awesome so keep up the great work man keep them coming.
Intro/Outro was awesome, very nice camera work on the making of the ring. The shake camera transition is a bit much and noise on transition is nice (but could be more subtile) and was used too often. Showing the ring on finger (in the dark when it glows) would be a nice way to apreciate the ring! :) Love your content!
Have you attempted to make a ring from pure thermite metal ?, it is extremely strong and has some nice patterns after you brush lite acid over it and then colorise it with some fire.
Intro was amazing, but some of the editing made me think I was watching a JJ Abrhams movie. It was a bit intense, especially with the color filter on the rest of the video. I am a huge fan, and it is exciting top see your content grow!
I love the editing! and the slowmo stuff! (realllly cool!) I could do without the added lens flares and other editing artifacts, but this is the first video, so maybe it does work! I just love seeing things happen in slowmo without distractions!
Finally, These dudes Channel is starting to lift off!
This may be just me, but what I loved about that channel is seeing the ring slowly going from unrefined material to a piece of art. Step by step. All those cuts are breaking the magic. I hope you can find a finer balance between raw footage and "mad editing skillz" in the next videos...
kookiz
It looks cool, but jea i agree
COULDNT AGREE MORE. THIS IS TURNING INTO SOME GRANT THOMPSON SHlT
kookiz yh I agree about the magic lost. The new intro and the transitions are good but the flashing lights with the house music and the quick changes in footage speed are a bit much
the intro was great but some of the slow motions during the video just made me feel like I was watching a faze clan montage
Turned out great. Transition noises are a bit much, but the new video guy has potential.
Thanks man that’s actually really helpful!
I must agree with him but the up close while you were adding water to the bit was nice
I can agree with this. I think the part that was a little too much for me was the static sound and transition. It felt very zombie apocalypse, found footage like. Other than that, I liked the intro, music, and as always the build. The ring is awesome!

The ring looks wonderful, man. Love the choice of colors on this one in particular.
A definite shoutout to Dustin on this video. Those transitions, shots, and intro/outro graphics are top notch!

The quality of your videos just took an insane leap. Love the ring and excited for more.
These low speed effects on the video were awesome touches to the whole experience of watching this cool ring being made!
wow new guy doing his job. love the improvements.
This video is awesome! You’ve got an amazing editor!
I likey! Thanks for the legit editing Dustin
Damn. I am speechless. The production value jump is HUGE. Keep it up if you can.
Really like the video style you're using. And as always, fantastic making!
I appreciate the artistry of the editing, but, for me, it's actually really jarring. One of the things I really enjoyed while watching the older videos was seeing the pieces come together during the time lapse instead of jumping around for different shots.
I got into machine shop at school and I'm so hyped, it's wicked fun😁😁
love that intro and the ring! keep going!
Fricking awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Insane quality difference.
nice video editing too and cool ring as always
Production quality of this video was lit
The effects on this video are AWESOME!!!! I fell like I'm watching a film or TV show. The ring is amazing. It's kinda like galaxy
Love the slow motion of the water and carbon and fibers as you drilled a shaved it down
I love seeing you make the rings and it just makes it more and more agonizing to wait for me to get the ring I ordered 😩
Beautiful ring as always.. And loving the new editor his done a brilliant job and his enjoying it... Keep up the good work can't wait for more videos.💚👌
Cinematography and editing skills just went to a whole new level. You would think he already had 20 Million Subscribers with this production.
Love the new editing, it makes the videos that much more fun to watch.
Intro was amazing, production was great quality, but u have to admit, the transition noises were a bit too much and the blueish tinted filter was distracting because I couldn't really see the real color of the ring!! The editor did a great job though :))))
Tremendous production value with both the new logo and the screen transitions.
Ooft, budget upgrade eh?
Damn nice editing and production! Keep up the great work guys!
YOU SHOULD ALREADY GIVE THAT NEW EDITOR A RAISE :D excelent work
Editor had some camera focus issues.
The intro is superb! Love the amethyst ring
Loved the edit! Can't wait to see all the rings you're going to make this year!
wow, nice editing. maybe a bit to much of that "WOOSH" sound in the clip transitions, but overall a big improvement. i personally find your rings to be really wide and thick(from visuals alone). all the rings i made were a lot smaller in comparison.
Been waiting for this video since I saw the teasers on yours and Dustin’s Instagram.
Patrick, you are totally amazing!!!

Love the ring... i love lapis and copper!

Love the new video editing! Though I would tone down the filter, gives a bit of an odd effect and doesn't really show off the ring nicely.
Nice vid like for the editor and you!!
The quality of the video content is cool and great to start off the year
that production value
Intro is magnificent
You have inspired me a lot. I love your work, thank you for sharing!

It kinda feels like watching king of random all of sudden. Similar editing and same music. Love it. :D
Awesome production work my man! Now I see why you didnt upload for a bit, it was worth the wait! Btw you made another ring that would one day be mine, keep it up Patrick! Also tell the Videographer that HE'S AWESOME! 😄
Loving the 2018 video style
I would to purchase this ring. Or any ring with Lapis. Just recently discovered this stone and Ive fallen in love with. Glad I can see the process of ring making.
Production value: It's over 9000
Ive been subscribed for about a month or so and its really cool to see your channel grow and improve. Id like to see more videos using different colored carbon fiber. Keep it up
Wow! Very professional video! Almost looks like a TV show or something!
You sir are nailing 2018!
Dude. Like dude. The editor. Please do those close up shots and slo mo for every video. And the music is amazing.
Wow!!! Great editing and craftsmanship! Definitely subbed.
HOLY SHIT, THAT INTRO WAS INSANE AND KEEP UP THE PRODUCTION VALUE
Take my money - NOW!!!!! Love your work!
Ayyy looks like you just leveled up! I'm not a fan of how much the screen shakes on the transitions, however. Can't wait to see what you make next. I never thought I would be interested in rings until I found your channel.
niiiice, i was waiting for this video since the instagram spoiler xD
Great video. Amazing ring. I love the size of the ring. Its a thick man ring. Great job thanks for the video.
Love the new look... love the ring interested in buying if and when possible
New Intro is Fire! Keep it like this 🔥🔥🔥🔥
The equipment that the ring makers use is most likely a high pressure water jet. I can't say for certain but I operate and perform maintenance on one daily. I love you videos the editing is awesome so keep up the great work man keep them coming.
Superb editing job
editing is top notch mate!
Intro was epic bro; well done!
Like the the new format. Your editor must watch the Peter McKinnon videos. Nice job.
The ring looks really cool
Intro/Outro was awesome, very nice camera work on the making of the ring. The shake camera transition is a bit much and noise on transition is nice (but could be more subtile) and was used too often. What a beautiful ring. That would be awesome on the shop
Love this new editor cool ring awesome job
Love the new editing its awesome
I love the new editing! The music is a little off though for your work, in my opinion. I loved the rustic, raw feel your videos had!
I love the editing! and the slowmo stuff! (realllly cool!) I could do without the added lens flares and other editing artifacts, but this is the first video, so maybe it does work! I just love seeing things happen in slowmo without distractions!
I would have trimmed down the edges of the lapis to make it a little thinner, but otherwise, it looks amazing. Great job!
