I’ll probably be in the minority, but I run so hot at night, I’m always throwing the bedding off me, so that bedding set is exactly what I need 😂😂
I feel the same about comforters at hotel. Usually too warm for me so not important to me.
Love the video Jen, you always make me laugh. I definitely love to hear your opinions on the bedding, it makes me smile!
Great review, Jen. As always, honest and fair. The room looks pretty basic to me, but yes, very nice. Agree about the blanket; gotta have that for sure. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
Thsnks! Good info to know. Happy Thanksgiving!
Great review thanks!
Those rooms definitely look super nice and modern. I agree that the colors in there are beautiful!
Yes I had zero issues with the clean and modern design I actually liked it quite a bit!
Jen ..SWAM and DOLPHIN are HIGHER LUXURIOUS LEVEL
BLESSED and HEALTHY THANKS GIVING to YOU and YOUR LOVED ONES ..🍂🦃🍂
Thank you so much for this review!! My family stayed at the Swan for the first time last summer and really enjoyed it. I was eyeing the Reserve for a future adult only trip, but I think we’ll stick with the Swan (unless there are some great Disney deals lol!🤗). ❤️
Great video. Thanks for being honest. ❤️😘
Always, Major! Thank you!
Ive said it before and I'll say it again. Your hotel room tours and review are the best on youtube.
Wow that made my day! Thank you!
I 100% agree!
Terrific Review, Jen! Thanks! You’ve saved me a trip to the Swan Reserve ; ) I look forward to visiting and walking around, but I’ll stick with the Dolphin Hotel for now.
I just want to be your friend and hang out! You’re just so darn likable, Jen! 😊
You’re so kind!!!! Thank you!!
A packable comforter is a great idea.
You can get a stuff sack to compress a comforter at a camping store they are designed for sleeping bags but im sure it would still work
I have wanted to see this hotel for sure. It is a nice room. Perfect for anyone who wants to go to Disney without staying in a hotel that has Disney touches.
Truly the room was very comfortable (minus the bedding situation;) and SO quiet!!
The bed/bedding is so important… I know I may be labeled a “Petty Betty” for this… but I love a nice duvet with the down comforter inside. Or just the down comforter. Cool in the room, snuggled underneath a somewhat weighted comforter. Nice white crisp clean sheets.😂
I’m really not picky though!😂.. but, when you spend that much money for a room… I don’t think that’s too much to ask.. Awesome video Jen! Thanks for your always honest reviews.😊
Oh, Michelle, you will receive no judgement from me there because I am TEAM DUVET!
We are staying here in January and looking forward to it! We are loyal Swan/Dolphin guests … just got back from swan and the the bedding is good but the pillows were terrible! 😂 Thanks for an honest review!
Lol so clearly it’s impossible to get both things right at the same time.😂😂😂
As a mom of a young kid, that bathroom wall looks like a pop it. The shower looks amazing but I'm old school and want the option to soak in a tub. I love the shower leg stand and the outside temp reading on the outside is something I've never seen!
With the shower I think it just depends on what type of room you get here I may be wrong
Love a bathrobe in a hotel room, it makes me feel like a real grownup 😁
Totally agree!! And so practical because who has space in your luggage for a robe and it's actually nice to not go straight from shower to clothes . . .
What a beautiful room! That shower looked amazing!
Ahhh too bad they didn't have decent bedding though! I'm totally on board with your idea for the travel-comforter :-p Oh and like a good travel pillow too! I'm that kind of person that usually brings her own pillow everywhere... my husband loves me for that(not) :-)
Get a jumbo zip lock bag, pack the comforter in it, zip it almost all the way, then roll it up to get the air out and compress it, then close the zipper all the way. I'm allergic to most laundry detergent so have to bring bedding on trips and this has worked for me, however I don't know if they still make the biggest zip lock bags, as mine are pretty old now.
Hi Jen, thank you so much for your review! Looks like only the signature rooms have microwaves? I hate that the washer/dryer is in the Dolphin! I actually do laundry on my vacations, lol. I love the turndown service and daily housekeeping. The Disney resorts really need to step it up with housekeeping services. It’s not enough.
There must be that blanket out there somewhere? Brilliant idea! Or add one to the owners locker. The room looks nice but a bit sterile. It does seem like it isn’t worth the up charge from the other two. Thanks for sharing all the details!
Honest vlog. Thank you. But my 16 y.o. daughter says the room looks cold. We loved Gran Destino last summer.
First of all… you comforter idea 💡 is genius! 👏🏻 I have raynauds so I’m always cold!!
Second I love your resort reviews… you seriously are like watching a friend.. your personality and the way you talk to your viewers is Perfection!
Third… how was the bathroom with out the fan during your shower ?? 🤷🏻♀️
THANK YOU, CARRIE! And yeah, weirdly it didn't fog up too badly but you'd think for mildew, etc., they'd want THAT??
@@JenLefforge that’s what I was thinking! Time will tell right?!🤷🏻♀️
I'm with you on thr bedding. It can be 100 degrees and I still want the weight of a blanket with the AC on blast lol.
Thank you!! This is what I’m saying!
TBH the light weight bedding is a plus for me. I hate comforters and duvets. I don’t have them on my home beds and it’s much colder here than Florida. Nothing worse then having to find somewhere in the hotel room to store that big heavy bedding.
The comforter situation wouldn't bother me, but I can't sleep when I'm hot. Great review though. I would prefer Swan and Dolphin though too, especially as you can generally get a good rate while still getting the Disney perks.
Looks like a beautiful hotel but I would agree with you, looks more like a business/traveler hotel. than traditional family resort. Nothing about the Swan isn't family friendly per se, but it just doesn't feel as family focused as other WDW resorts. The Swan Reserve is owned by marriott so I think their new niche is these boutique hotels that keep popping up everywhere like AC hotels, Tru and Hyatt Centrics.
I haven't read all the reviews yet, but wanted you to know that I have two of the packable down blanket/comforters that you want to invent. I take one when I travel. They're amazing. I got them at Costco I think. They come in a bag of course. Name - double black diamond.
Perfect!
The Swan Reserve looks nice and I might stay there but I prefer a balcony so I can get a little fresh air in the morning and evening if I want. I don’t love staying in hotel rooms where I can’t at least open a window. Just a personal preference but not necessarily a deal breaker.
Laurie, I struggle with this too and I never did until the last few years. I get this so much.
I have not stayed here but very pretty
Look into rumpl and other camp blankets. Compressible camp blankets exist!
Yes, I know, but they're all marketed to outdoors people. I've yet to find one geared towards high end travelers and that would be a different product (not-waterproof, softer outer shell, etc). And I have a Rump blanket on the way!
Wow, that bedding is just... wow. How disappointing. Consider me your first supporter in your packable comforter startup! 👍
Right?!?! I think I may try to figure out if I can figure it out . . .
Sorry Jen, I checked Amazon and there is a packable down comforter -- it's in the camping section. So while not a new idea, hopefully you can find something that you can take with you on future trips! And thanks for the review :)
You are correct there are loads in the camping section but they aren't really what I'm looking for and most are from horrible outer shells that are waterproof.
Just out of curiosity, did you notice if a fan turned on after a period of time of you using the shower? My husband and I are currently in the process of replacing the fans in our bathrooms and have learned that “smart fans” are a thing now… they will just detect the humidity in the air and turn on when they need to. I figure since this is a new hotel, they may have implemented this type of technology in the bathrooms.
Don't think I'd stay there for the price (especially with that womp-womp raisin bedding), but I'd like to extract that shower footstep to include in my ultimate hotel room which combines all of the best features of hotel rooms that I have either stayed in or toured virtually. Kickstarter for the packable comforter??
Charlie, seriously, I am lacking so many skills to get that comforter thing launched but I'm researching now and it looks like the technology exists but it's all geared towards hikers (so it's all waterproof) and I'm thinking more something that's 300 thread count. Stay tuned (and also message me if you have thoughts because I don't know a whole bunch of things)
I haven't heard about this resort. It seems to ben right by the S&D? I didn't know there was space to build another resort there.
It being Florida I am always hot so the thin bedding is just right for me. I wish it was a tub or had a seat in the shower.
Is it really a fan in the bathrooms? I always thought they were air vents to suck out the smelly smells lol
Thanks for the review! I currently have the Reserve booked for the end of Jan, 6 night stay with 5 nights free using points and 1 night at $288 which is a killer deal; however, I'm worried with all of the negative reviews currently out there that I'm still weighing my options of cancelling and booking the Swan? As far as the comforter situation, the online photos on the Reserve's website show big thick comforter's on the beds so not sure where those went lol
Yes Leeann WHERE DID THEY GO?!?! I demand answers!😂❤️
I love the idea of a coverlet or light weight blanket. It seems like all the bedding at DVC resorts I have stayed at have comforters that are way too hot. I end up taking them off and just using the sheets which can sometimes get too cold. Do they really want us to use more ac to be comfortable with what I consider a winter comforter?
Have you been recently? Sounds like you may love what they're doing now (I hate it)
@@JenLefforge I stayed in a cabin at CCV about 3 weeks ago, beautiful place, but had to move the comforter. The light weight blanket looked perfect; I´d grab a second blanket if I needed it. Love your videos.
Seems like all brand new hotels especially in Anaheim area are pretty generic and dull! Do not like Barn Doors. Does not offer full privacy if any bathroom issues if you know what I mean! Will be staying at older properties. Also that Sheet Duvet is standard now too!
Have you stayed at the Grand Destin Tower at Coronado? Trying to decide between that and this one. I have teens so Disney theme doesn’t matter.
I have and will again very soon! I often choose one over the other simply due to price and whichever is cheapest wins - but I will say you can’t beat the location of the Swan and Dolphin
Oh, I love me some good water pressure
It’s remarkable what a difference it makes!
I wonder if bathroom fans, vents, are higher maintenance - more trouble than they're worth? But no ventilation apart from the bathroom barn door- ohh wait, is the barn door deliberate to allow ventilation?! Replacing actual fans? That's gotta make the whole room pretty humid, especially if it's the kind of shower that makes you wanna stay there longer!
Yeah I know they also can cause fires when they malfunction? And I didn't notice the humidity issue but also it was cold and dry when I was there (very un FL like;)
Ok- love the footie thing in the shower! Also, as Susie would say- the bottled water isn’t free, it’s “included”. 😏
Seriously she’s so right! A few comments below someone said they wish they could be my friend and hang out with me. So ya know….😂🤣😂🤪❤️
I don’t think it looks like a bad hotel and the location is nice but honestly I think Gran Destino is still the best value for $$ for me.
I tend to agree! I used points for this stay (so "free") but if I were paying? YES. Although the walk to the studios and Epcot is awfully nice.
Am I right that the rooms at both the Swan and the Dolphin are only double/full beds, NOT queens? I would really like to stay there, but that's not going to work with me and two teenagers!
One of them has doubles but I always forget which one
Would you book this over Coronado or other Disney hotels?
It would truly depend on price - if it were the same price I would choose CSR over this hotel but not over Swan and Dolphin
We have not stayed at Swan or Dolphin. Are they more family friendly?
I think they are for sure. Still more geared towards grown ups than the Disney resorts but tons of kids activities and an amazing pool for kids
When I drove by it 2 months ago, the copper-ish brown pillars on the top floor made the whole thing look unfinished and under construction. Can’t we just get some CREATIVITY back into WDW hotels? Even if it’s meant for business adults, Vegas still manages to be themed! People still want a hint of fantasy and design, otherwise they can just stay at their local downtown Marriott. If we’re gonna stick with boring towers, can we at least take a hint from marina bay sands and have a wrap around roof pool?! 🤣
Yup. I completely agree.
Hey Jen! Did you happen to remember to ask why it's called the reserve?
I never spoke with anyone other than Bell services and didn’t think to ask them! Sorry!
@@JenLefforge np! For now it remains one of life's great mysteries! Merry Christmas to you, Scott and the boys :)
The Mom in the swimming picture looks like you.
Awww thanks!
Was that a Book of Mormon? How interesting, I wondered if it’s owned by Marriott?
Yes it’s a Marriott property
Or, as kathie lee Gifford and barb Streisand used to call it: the Schwan. Oh,but you’re at the new reserve? Okay ✅.
I miss the imagination of Michael Graves. What is happening to the magic of Disney resorts? This looks basic and like anything you could find along I-4. What I loved about the Disney resorts built in the late 80s/90s (Grand Floridian, Wilderness Lodge, Boardwalk, Yacht & Beach) is they created geographical fantasies in the heart of the worlds most magical resort. Now it’s just starting to look messy with all these boring towers. As long as you keep settling for this, they will say “look what we can do on the cheap and charge a fortune.” Sad.
Word in the street is that Marriott did this design without consulting Disney and their lack of cooperation with the design is what led to them no longer having access to Disney busses.
Wonderful review. I'm glad the shower met your expectations! lol Honestly, that IS really important! As far as not including a blanket on the bed anymore, I don't understand why hotels are going in that direction other than to save $$. Finally, and no disrespect to subscribers or viewers, WHY do resorts/hotels include a Bible and now Book of Mormon in a resort room? Should a guest want to review/recite/read up on their particular faith, wouldn't they bring their own or Know it? I just think this practice is so outdated and they should use that money to fund another item within the room that will be useful to everyone. Hope you had fun!!
The Bible’s are provided by the Gideons and don’t cost the hotels anything. Marriott is owned by Mormons so they put the Book of Mormon there as well.
@@JenLefforge WOW! I had no idea. Thanks for the knowledge! :)
Room looks basic….🤷🏻♀️ I don’t think we’d stay there.
It kind of is!
