There really ought to be a "double thumbs up" button for videos like this !! Models are brilliant nowt like men (didn't see any ladies) seriously playing trains !!
1007 has perfectly even valve beats, noticeably better than most all 2 cylinder locos, models or prototype. Hmm, the austerity does too. This is a wonderful event and a great video, thanks!
A few different answers to this one! Fine scale model locomotives such as these can take anywhere between 1000 - 4000 man hours. An experienced builder with a lot of time might be able to churn a small model out in a matter of months. Many models often take years and there a many examples of engines that have taken upwards of 10 and 15 years to complete.
Stop tromping all over innocent British & Japanese people Gigantor. My mum's grandfather drove the Cornish Riviera & wrote a small mechanical book, The Locomotive Engineman's and Fireman's Examination Guide, 1893, by Maurice George Vaughan, President of the Great Western Railway Engine Drivers' and Firemen's Class, Plymouth (my mum's grandfather). Price One Shilling.
Watching Giling Vids is a highlight for me love all those great locos and rolling stock to drool over thank you all
Glad you enjoyed it

The noise that the WD 2 - 10 - 0 Loco makes is brilliant.
I love seeing these vids-the engines are so lifelike. Well done
Superb video, great camera angles and close ups. Until those humans appear takes you back 60 years!
Great stuff really enjoyed the night shots at the end.
Thank you - Great footage of a great event. I wonder, how many hours in sheds does it take to make that lot????

Glad you enjoyed it
Nice video that WD 2-10-0 sounds amazing! Is that a j94 at 1:36?
Gresley 01/2
Big boys with their big toys.....
I don’t live far from Gilling East so every time we go there my uncle would bring his V2 tank engine but it never runs
Cool
I want to get an express steam engine so I can run it there with loads of carriages
Where do I buy the rolling stock ??
Is that a double or a triple gage track ?
The main running lines are triple gauge for 3 ½”, 5” and 7 ¼”, but the two goods yards are only 5” and built for the mainline rally days.
:) Cool club!
Brilliant, but Is it optional for the drivers to smile ?
If they're anything like me when driving steam they're too busy concentrating on what they're doing to realise that there's a camera pointing at them!
@@LNERandBR That's true even with Gauge 1! (Radio controlled). I've no time to spare while driving.
