My niece wanted bagpipes for her wedding and the ceremony was in a chapel with a nice organ. She asked me to help with the music (I’m a professional violinist) so I found two pipers that came to play Highland Cathedral with the organist. They arrived early and carefully tuned to the organ, placing little pieces of Scotch tape (haha, I just realized that’s funny!) on the holes of the chanter to change the pitch slightly. I was super impressed! It’s way easier to tune a violin than a bagpipe! At the end of the ceremony, they began playing Highland Cathedral, then the organ joined in, and the pipers led the bride and groom down the aisle to their music. It was magnificent!
Hearing the Pipes echoing round Lindsfarne Castle while walking my Daughter up the ramparts on her Wedding day was the most emotional moment, absolutely wonderful, especially hearing Mairi's wedding (traditional) Peter, Master Piper from Eyemouth will always have my admiration and thanks.
Fun fact: Me and my wife got a scotland themed wedding and we actually hired bagpipers for the ceremony and stuff... But I stumbled on this video one week AFTER the wedding :D Though, the bagpipers were amazing and they did the third of the songs in here :p
A fair point, Jim! We chose the word 'songs' because we noticed that people online tend to search for 'songs' rather than tunes. Our CEO is a Scot and I myself (the author of the title) am a whistle player, so you be sure we wouldn't refer to 'bagpipe songs' in other contexts!
I like how each of these songs sounds like they were played on bagpipes.

Scotland the Brave. Always my favorite.
500 miles! A standard at my family's wedding receptions!
There's something about (bag) pipes. I find them quite soothing

A lovely memory Graham - thanks for sharing!
So, I was singing right along with 500 miles and the Sky Boat song! Outlander yeah!
Great inspiration for my upcoming wedding in Scotland. Thank you!
"She moved through the fair" absolutely amazing
My parents got handfasted to this song yesterday, needless to say, it was beautiful..
Definitely one of our favourite tunes - a beautiful song...
I want bag pipes and drums at my wedding
Endearing young charms
A great pick!
I have always loved Highland Cathedral or Skye Boat. She moved through the Fair is one I may start using as I have recently added it to my repertoire.

Sounds like a lovely wedding Max! Were you getting married in Scotland?
@@EncoreMusicians nah we married in our home town. but we themed it on scotland anyway ^^ and we gonna go to scotland for the honeymoon soon
Love bagpipe music
All the best people do Susan!
It seems like the bagpipes are limited to play the correct notes in the Wedding March. Is there a way to make that tune work better on bagpipes?
-she moved through the fair
Hey don't worry about small little details , the world is becoming more humanly screwup. Laugh a little
There are no "Songs" on bagpipes. Songs, by definition, have words.
And it is sooo difficult to sing with a blowpipe in your mouth!

I'd pay to see this aha!
