Literally did all 3 methods. And my guy. Not all hero’s wear capes but you gotta get yourself one cause not only is my temps drastically low my games run even better! I’m getting way more frames and it’s steady more than ever before. And my laptop is still cool. Razer used to have insane heating issues that caused a lot of throttling but stripping down voltage and limiting the cores really did help keep the laptop performing as it should without the heat. Insane man…
My laptop would always use to heat up to high 90s and even 100s. After doing method1 and 2 all my games run so much better and my pc is between 60 to high 70s. Thanks so much bro
yeah me too before this i got like 95c fps drop is crazy due to thermal throttle, its better reduce performance a bit with this undervolt than shuttering bcz high temp
I have the EXACT same processor (i5-8250U) on my 3 years old laptop. Literally today I just faced throttling issue, I applied new thermal paste + these methods and they really help. My situation is: I have no idea why my CPU is turbo-ing pretty much all the time (I guess it has not been like this for the past 3 years but recently), the speed may fluctuate between 2 GHz to 3 GHz and higher when I'm not even playing games. If I play games like this, I get CPU throttling, CPU speed locks at 0.4 GHz, then goes up and down inconsistently. Not gonna lie, the impact of undervolting is so minimal that it doesn't really help with throttling issue that much (at least for me), but it's still good to do it to reduce temperature, no harm at all. Disable turbo does help to solve the throttling issue (TESTED), but my CPU speed caps at 1.58 GHz (even though it says base speed is 1.8 GHz but whatever). Now, I think my laptop has been running like this for the past 3 years and everything seems perfectly fine, games are running at acceptable FPS, still smooth enough to play (even if you really disabled boost). BUT- BUT- for those who does not want to disable turbo entirely and get CPU boost for better performance (but without CPU throttling if the boost goes too intense, yes your OS will throttle the CPU that way so your laptop doesn't fry because of intensive overboosting for long duration), I suggest you to do as method 2 demonstrated, go to FIVR and adjust 'Turbo Ratio Limits', this is the settings to adjust the clock speed for each core on your CPU when it is boosting. Running all cores at full speed while boosting might cause CPU throttling (because higher speed needs more power and more power generates more heat and more heat equals to high temperature and higher temperature causes CPU throttling to stop overheating). You need to adjust it accordingly to get the performance suits you the most, either follow TechTweek by lowering all cores by x, OR like the way I do it, keep the first 2 cores at max but lower the other 2 cores by x, for now I keep them at 34,34,31,31 and it seems fine when boosting and I don't get CPU throttling (BOOM! THAT FIXED CPU THROTTLING BUT WITHOUT FULLY SACRIFICING TURBO BOOST). Just keep adjusting and monitor your PC performance using Task Manager and HWMonitor to see the results. Last but not least, I just want to say that, I guess CPU is just not smart enough to know the turbo boosting limits without causing CPU throttle and when CPU throttling happens the CPU is not smart enough to tell you that it's because of overheating. LAST LAST LASTLY- if none of the methods work for you, it might just be hardware issue, you get CPU throttling because your laptop is overheating. The fan may be broken or clogged by dust or thermal paste has dried up. You can open the bottom panel to check (not recommended if you are a hardware noob) or visit a service center and get a technician to troubleshoot for you. Good luck guys and thank you for reading :)
*update: running throttlestop causing the clock speed to fluctuate so badly, thus making the fps highly unstable while gaming. while it was fun to tweak around, i decided to turn it off and suggest you guys to get better processor for better clock speed (desktop).

Hey man, how did you unlock the fivr control options with an integrated gpu? My little brother recently asked me to give him my old laptop, it has an i7-8550U and i've already tried almost everything to ungrey the options.
Well, you could just replace the thermal paste. and if that doesnt work, then remove the back panel to increase its ventilation. Throttlestop has its own kind of limits. And undervolting doesnt work on all systems. Disabling turbo just to prevent it from overheating is indirectly gonna affect the fps and the input latency. But again, if your system runs smoothly even after doing all this, then its cool, you can ignore what i said.

Thanks for the comment, but the most ideal voltage for your CPU will not be same for everyone. It is something you'll have to find it out manually by trail and error method. And your second answer is, lowering your CPU frequency will give you more consistency and stability, and talking about more FPS that depends on the game that you're playing. If it is a CPU based game then there will be increase in FPS but if it is a GPU based game then it might not have that much effect. I hope I answered your questions.

Thank you, when I did the second method I went from 85 to 70
Nice work!
I gained a lot of knowledge.
Thank you very much. 🙏🏻
Welcome 😁
Really helpful video, but I have a question. Can I use throttlestop for CSGO? is it safe for VAC ban?
You can use it for CS:GO. It is perfectly safe.
Thank you so much i went from 95 degree to 70 degrees
Amazing. I play eSports titles and Haven't faced any delays.
beautiful fix, clean and quick. 10/10
Thank you 😊
Same specs bro. Unfortunately, we can't undervolt GPU(940Mx) because it is maxwell based 😢😢.
Anyways,nice guide 👌
Thanks mate
Are you i5 7200U??? My laptop is like that and have 940mx gpu card
we have the same specs on this luckily so i'm gonna copy your settings. nice presentation you've earned a another sub from me.
Thanks a lot.
Hey bro, is there any reason why the setting "Unlock Adjustable Voltage" is greyed out? I can't click on it in order to begin the undervolting, any thoughts on why this might be?
Maybe your cpu is locked.
@@TechTweek And I'd assume that means theres nothing I can do about it right?
I guess so. 💐
@@TechTweek thanks, it's a shame but I appreciate it for the response
You can try going to your bios. There might be a settings for Unlocking your CPU. Try it once.
Fixed the problem by cleaning my pc, it was super dusty never cleaned it in 2 years 💕💜
Nice 😍
Awesome video, very easy to understand. Having the same CPU model as yours also help me save time from trial & error. But I do have some questions, can I apply both method 1 & 2 without crashing the CPU? Also what should be the power option mode setting while running throttlestop? Balanced mode or Hi-performance mode?
Yes, you can enable both the methods. Power option doesn’t matter
@@TechTweek thanks for the reply. I know for the fact that the balanced mode disable turbo boost by default, but if I set TS to allow turbo boost will this be conficting with the balanced mode power option settings? Or will balanced mode will have the priority.
will it affect performance of gaming? I have mostly a potato laptop. I play valorant at 1400*900 and my laptops get hot af and that makes my fps drop. I don't want to lower resolution cause it makes harder to see enemies.
I use lower graphics mod and use throttlestop. 🥲
you have a very good skill of explaining
thank you bro ❤️👍
Enjoy.
Thanks a lot. First two methods didn’t work much. But the third method worked. It is giving better performance in games. Just ticking turbo. I have the same cpu i 5 8 gen.
Enjoy 😊
Do i really need to change/configure the values for the other settings?, Other videos they only change core, cache & intel gpu 🤔
Try it out.
Don't mess with System Agent voltage settings, regardless of what he recommends. Everything else checks out fine for my Intel i7 Laptop.
Yeahh, finally i get good tempsss!! You saved my laptop lifetime!! Thankss bro!
Welcome 🤗, Enjoy
Istg man, thank you for this amazing guide youre a lifesaver
Thank you so much. It means a lot.
Dope video! Question: Are we supposed to use all 3 methods together or pick from one of the three?
Try them serially.
Hey everyone , I have watched 50+ videos re arranging bios settings and tried many softwares but nothing worked for the past 3 weeks as i person who has received a new pc i was worried but after wasting my time on all of these videos , I went to my guy who build my pc and he changed the orientation of my cpu cooler fan. My cpu on idle ( 60°C ) and under load ( 100°C ) went to 25°C on idle and 60°C under load . Hope this helped ❤❤❤❤
Thanks for the tip. It should help others 😁
I just went through an hour of recovering my youtube account so i could sign in and say thankyou, after spending a couple days reinstalling fans and buying thermal paste and letting my PC cook at 100c while yelling and swearing at my computer for crashing every time i launch a game,
OPTION 3 instantly fixed this, though option 1+2 did nothing for me other then crash my computer (as you warned) it problem is fixed and preformance on my PC during my game is, fine? lost so much power to the PCU but i cant notice any difference at all besides the little CPU temperature icon now ranges from 50-70 rather then a bright red 100,
big thanks and much love from a random internet technological illerterate idiot over here
You're welcome. Have a good day.
very well presented guide, extremely helpful. Thanks a lot!
Thank you so much ❤️

@@TechTweek hi can this make turbo boost for intel core i7 1255u laptop increase ghz i got throtltle stop 9.6 please reply me asap would mean a lot thanks
Hey brother! My laptop (HP Omen) is about 4 years old. The throttling started happening only a year or a year and a half ago. I feel that there might be dust and dirt stuck in OR UNDER my fans. Do you suggest I try your methods before getting my laptop checked/cleaned or should I get it cleaned first?
Edit: The temperature of my GPU (GTX 1650) is much higher than the CPU. CPU stays at a stable temp.
Try cleaning it first and apply new thermal paste. If still the problem persists then try these methods.
Bro i have changed few settings in TPL options I also have the same CPU i5-8250u please can u tell what settings i have to change in TPL settings
I think you need to keep turbo boost long and short max power to 28. Also make sure BD prochot is checked. Hope it helps.
ive had a laptop for about 4 years it always throttled even in low quality games that its should very well be able to handle . This guide work 100% and i love it. games no more throttle . thanks and youve earned a sub
Thank you so much ❤️
Which method you tried bro
Hey man. Just found your video after a friend told me about Throttlestop. Considering giving it a try, after having FPS issues at certain points in UBOAT game (but still having fun for now).
My specs are:
i5-8300H @2.3 GHz (8 CPUs)
GTX 1050 4GB
8GB RAM
Would the numbers you set work for me?
Try out all the three methods.
I lost my previous throttlestop file and my cpu is boiling and your are a FKING LIFESAVER!
THANK YOU AND RESPECT 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks a lot mate, enjoy the performance.
The 1st of steal one solve the problem that I’ve been dealing with for over half a year because of the specific Machine that I have in the recent lockout of bios
😁
Hey man, how did you unlock the fivr control options with an integrated gpu? My little brother recently asked me to give him my old laptop, it has an i7-8550U and i've already tried almost everything to ungrey the options.
I have an i5-1035GI and I'm having the same issues
Well, you could just replace the thermal paste.
and if that doesnt work, then remove the back panel to increase its ventilation.
Throttlestop has its own kind of limits. And undervolting doesnt work on all systems.
Disabling turbo just to prevent it from overheating is indirectly gonna affect the fps and the input latency.
But again, if your system runs smoothly even after doing all this, then its cool, you can ignore what i said.
What you said is true bro.
I've done both and still get 90c+. Gonna try throttlestop today and see what happens
Hi just wanted to say thank you! I combined your method 1 and 3 and I could play GTA V now on 75c (was 94c before) Appreciate your videos!!!
That's good. Thank You So Much.
bro i love u
Thanks man ☺️
Are you using an Acer Nitro AN515-31? I have the same CPU
I am using Asus VivoBook S15
helped me reach a steady 60fps for my 7 year old laptop, thanks m8
That's great! 😄 Enjoy.
You my friend are my hero! It works after the method 2. I am using a desktop and it works there too. thanks!!!
Enjoy 🐱
Oh, you saved me, bro. Thanks for this guide.
Enjoy 😊
Gonna try this when I get off work tonight
Great
@@TechTweek it worked. overwatch is just a trash game and doesnt run correctly but EVERYTHING else runs like a charm
☺️
Thanks for the Guide, i have same CPU. So i did same as you. Didn't disable boost bit did Turbo Ratio Limit put all cores from 34 lower to 24. a did get little bit lower Temp. For now i'm getting 45 to 55c' just from Browsing. and with Games 75 to 80c' was curio do you have same Temp or did you try even more to tweak ?
That’s it
Hi,what is gpu unslice, and system agent?
In ALL other videos, they only undervolt cpu,cpu chache and igpu.
Whats the difference?
Wow no joke, the third method works very well
Enjoy the stable performance. 😄😄
Amazing guide. I have tried all different things and this guide was perfect and actually had results
Great 😁
I just wanted to ask whether my computer will deal with the crash after throttle stoping on it's own
@@oneshot4432 if your computer crashes then there are some settings that are not suitable. It's fine a reboot will reset everything. Throttlestop is not permanent. It is only effective when the application is running. 🧃
The method 1 really works for me from 95 degrees to 70 (When playing)
Amazing
OH MY FREAKING GOD U HAVE AN I5 8250U WHILE I HAVE AN 8265U WHICH ARE REALLY SIMILAR SO THIS MIGHT WORK TYSM IN ADVANCE
Do let me know, if it worked. 😄
Thank u bro my laptop was on 85C and now it’s on 68-72 C thank u do much 👌
Glad I could help
Two years later and, at the very least, the second method worked for me! Literally doubled my FPS and dropped my temps by about 10-15 C!
thank you so much!, the 2nd method worked very well on my laptop
Enjoy 😉
Hi bro. When I try to make some changes in FIVR, I can't select anything, it looks like it is locked. how can I unlock it.
the disable Turbo helped me a lot :) my fps dropped from 90 to12 but now its constant 60 with no drops
That’s great
12 fps?
My laptop's using AMD Ryzen processor. If possible, could you make a video for AMD processors?
I've seen some of the comments and they all say this solution worked, but ONLY for Intel processors, like you said.
bruh same please if you find any solution please help...My laptop is thermal throttling and the gpu clock lowers below base clock and it lags like crazy
whenever i go play a game my cpu and gpu sits at around 70-80° Celsius is this fine? also my fans blasts full speed. my pc overheated but i think in my case i just need to fix my laptops positions
70-80 degrees is totally fine. If you're hitting more than 95C only then you should worry about thermal throttling. Thanks for stopping by.
How can I thank you bro...my pc went from 90s to 70s and got a 5 to 10fps boost..Thank you bro
Your comment is enough ☺️ enjoy the free performance
@@TechTweek Imma sub right now..as a little gift for you
@@kerhabplays Thanks a lot.
love you bro worked got like 75cpu temperature before it was 90+
❤❤❤❤

this helped my 14700k run more stable ty
Great Mate
Thank you for your efforts sir ❤️ can you tell me in power settings i should go with balanced or advanced?
Please follow the video, you can slow down the video if you’re facing some issues
@@TechTweek Ok sir, same processor but my pc is getting in problem and restarting by first step but no problem with 2,3.. can I use 2 and 3 both at a time?
Sure you can
Thanks a lot dude! My fps are a lot more consistent now
Enjoy 😊
By the way, in case anyone finds it useful. I have an i7-4710HQ CPU and -100 made it crash, but I haven't had any trouble at -60. I could probably push it a bit more but I'd like to stay on the safe side.
Hey bro, many people says dont underwolt too much, like 80-120 is okay... But i Undervolted -1000 and my 6 cores turbo speed is 5.1 but i made all of these cores 4.0... And My FPS in games ar increased and stabilised and nothing anormal is happening everything is okay. my laptops cpu even its %100 used moments saws max 85C and thats perfect. The think which is anormal to me is -1000 Part
sounds good, will try turbo disable first, I think thats what keeps my cpu to overheat on Arma..
Yeah
thank you for helping me im free from overheating
Welcome 🤗
Which method did you use ?
the first and third method worked for me quite well
Good to know that. ☺️
Thank you very much! It worked perfectly with my Dell 5406 with i7.
Enjoy
Does decreasing clock modulation bit help to reduce temperature as well 🤔?
You can try it out.
Hello I tried method 2 my rig is r5 3600 and gtx 1660 ti
So basically I lowered the cpu to 3.3 and what is the most ideal volts to set? im using ryzen master I play valorant and last question is does lowering the cpu ghz gives more fps and consistency? I hope u can help me thanks a lot
Dude the 'unlock adjustable voltage' and even the 'turbo ratio limits' option is grayed out and i cant switch them on..do you have any idea why is it happening to me?? i think it is because of my BIOS has locked it
Yeah, try checking your BIOS settings
Everything is greyed out when I click on FIVR. I have the same CPU (8250U). How can I unlock these settings?
That's because your Laptop manufacturer has locked the CPU, check your bios. It might have settings to unlock your CPU.
My laptop is acer nitro 5 with specifiication i5 gen8 + gtx 1050. When playing the temp can reach 90°-100°C, is that normal? If not can this trick fix it?
Sorry, i'm new to this kind of stuff.
You won’t know unless you try
@@TechTweek i will try it, but is it safe for a newbie like me?
Its safe, the worst thing that’ll happen is just a reboot
Yes
@@TechTweek thats a relief, imma try it now.
Can you use throttle stop on desktops? or is it exclusive to laptop?
Laptops as well as desktops
@@TechTweek Thank you!!
Welcome
There's no "Disable and Lock Turbo Power" option on latest version, what should I do ?
That's means your CPU is locked by the developer. Please check you BIOS settings.
4:10 there's no option that says "disable and lock turbo power limits. I have i7-8550U
Same
Bro what is your igpu used in video is it normal for valorant 70 to 100 fps in valorant for Intel uhd 620 in valorant new update ?
UHD 620
Ok. Please make guide for ryzen. Ryzen 7 5800h. Im experiencing thermal throttling a lot.. 😔
I'd love to make but I don't have a ryzen system to tweak. 😓
Bro thanks but I have a question please I used the method 3 on a i7 10750H RTX 3060 MSI laptop do you think if I let turbo boost off everytime it will damage my cpu or my gpu I just want to make sure that what I did is safe because everything is running good and I dropped from 90 to 70-75-80 max and I’m getting a cooling pad soon do you think the method 3 is safe and there will not be any problems to my laptop please answer I’m new to all this laptop and pc stuff I just wanna make sure but thanks bro great content you really helped me ‼️
Thank you
Which method did you tried? Does it works?
Bro thx u so much! I had this laptop for a year and a half now and i was playing always at 90-94 C. Now i get 80 at maximum and VISIBLE better performance, ez subcribe from me. Also a question, i have a turbo mode for fans (F5+ALT), i should use it constantly or just when it get hot?
Use the fan constantly. It is designed to cool your laptop. So use the feature. Enjoy the free performance 🧃😌
Just wanted to ask when I launch ThrottleStop DO I have to press The "Turn On" button?
Turn on? Disable Turbo?
@@TechTweek The "Turn On" button next to "Options" and "TS Bench"
Yeah it should be turned on.
