Europe's Secret Abandoned Power Plants Explored | Urbex

- In the past, powerhouses used to be more than just utilitarian structures. At the dawn of the electrical age, those buildings were soaring temples that should change the world forever. While functionality is more important than design in modern power stations, it seems like architecture had a special meaning back then. But more and more of those historical sites disappear. As fans of the aesthetics of industrialism, we simply had to explore two plants on our Hungary adventure which seemed to be the last of their kind. The first place is a time capsule that already existed like that 100 years ago. The second one impresses thanks to its sheer size and post-apocalyptic look. Join us on two exciting infiltrations of some of the most powerful witnesses of the past you can imagine! #urbex #abandonedplaces #bwturbex

Sorry for the delay but we hope it was worth waiting for! At this moment, we're taking part in a huge street art festival which takes place on an abandoned property. We will release a video report about that soon, so stay tuned.
(German subtitles will be available in those next days, thanks for your patience!)
Well worth the wait your team puts together the best locations, history, and wonderful narrations!! Your channel deserves so much more subscribers!!
Nice gread video, you should come over to china and explorer same lost and abandoned places.
Apologies are like....err...unnecessary, eh? I sometimes delay watching BWT and a few other favorite channels so i can enjoy a marathon (usually with friends) on the big TV.
Hmm....5:59 Open Window Theory also provides positive results! ;p
19:27 i have walked on worse then that that’s nothing that’s a steel frame with wooden planks on top panicking for nothing guys
can i use your picture as a record cover?
Guys your production quality is so insane. Weiter so!
I’m surprised he’s not like worried about health problems I’d be scared to death to get radiation poisoning
0:32 what a shot! 😮
edit: lemme rephrase that, this entire episode is 😮
We can handle a little delay. As long as you keep uploading masterpieces like this you will always have many loyal subscribers. I'm looking forward to the next videos!
Please never stop making videos, freaking love you all.
Thank you, power plants are my favorite explors, I like seeing the old switch gear. I work at a company that builds switch gear for small plants and backup systems its cool to see the vintage stuff.
We have some more footage of abandoned power plants we might share with you later this year. 💪
Thank you for providing captions, the deaf community appreciates it.
I live close by to these places. The power plant is not in use, but the buildings around it are. As with the old barraks, I went inside myself 7 years ago, it is really impressive.
These places should be museums, not just abandoned places with security guards that most people will never see
Wow, absolutely stunning! It's crazy to think that the first powerplant is 100 years old!!! Electronics everywhere!
Awesome work! Thanks for sharing!
Ur welcome. 📺
It would be amazing to see the control room at night with the lights on. It's a really interesting way to light that room. An oval of fluorescent lights in the centre, and then all the way around the room over the control boards.
Till and Marco, another fantastic find, much thanks to your friend,Toby, for sharing its location. Your locations and history into these abandonded locations into 🇭🇺 Hungary brings us here in the U.S. much closer to all things abandonded into your Hungarian and other European locations we would never see!!🤗👍💕💕💜💛💚💙
I'm hungarian and I know both places but I never was inside. Thx guys, keep going 👌
I smiled through the whole video and I am still smiling! I liked Cornelius' idea of using the conveyor belt. Both locations were a metal wonderland. You guys must have some metal nerves! Epic and fun!
"Security Sheep". That is hilarious!
😹
You know what i like most about this channel
The photography / videography
Edit
and the sheep
I'm thinking a bright blue and white teeshirt isn't much camophlage.
Good vid again guys. Always love the narration!
But those clothes worked quite well actually. 👕 Even the security sheep was running from us.
Flawless video 👌

There were no "transistors" when this complex was built. But there were many "transformers"-which converts alternating and straigh currents.
Another great film 👍🏻
Keep it up... You deserve so much respect for the quality of your work.
This intro is sexy, guys!
7:19 my favourite shot
You had me at the edge of my seat when you were climbing that conveyor belt. So glad it held. 💪
The plant that has the circular control room needs to be saved because I haven't seen another one like it anywhere else
We just found out about a similar one in Berlin!
@@bwturbex nice and the reason I was saying that they need to save the building is because I'm a photographer myself and I can tell you what I'm seeing is very photogenic as well as artistic
Wow, that was some architectural talent! Glad to see you guys didn't get hurt as my heart was pounding thinking you guys would get spotted or you would break through the rotting floor. Great job and thanks again for the cool videos, many thumbs up.
Probably te coolest abandoned control room in the world right now! Also great storytelling once again!
👍
We were super glad to have experienced that control room!
absolut krasse Locations und wie immer mega gut gefilmt und geschnitten. Mit Abstand hab ihr momentan die besten Lostplace Videos freu mich schon auf die nächsten Folgen
☺
You guys out did yourselves this time! Both places held danger of getting caught! Brilliant video guys! The ceiling was incredible n the tower was terrifying! Well worth waiting for my friends. Stay safe and God bless from Nevada, USA.
Awesome guys! Two unbelievable bucket list spots documented in perfect fashion. Definitely one I’ll return to in the future :)
🚄
Another awesome video! I'd rather wait than have you rush. I can't say which of your videos I like best, I always find something to love in each. With such high quality cinematography, your films ought to be shown in theaters.
This was a beautiful and exciting explore! You guys are respectful and brave!!
I love seeing this place. It's so beautiful. Another great videos guys 🖤
Thank you! 🔦
Der Stratege und der Apfelesser ;) Schöne Szene.
🍎
I work in the power industry. Ive had the pleasure of going in numerous power stations both new and old. That oval room is absolutely stunning, never seen anything like it.
Never been happier to see your upload. Another brilliant video guys!
Remember doing both them plants last year, pretty much took the same route in.
Wow, thanks mate!
Two great epic achievements in only one video!! The only down point, not for the video but for your health, was you guys (except one) touching everything with bare hands. It can be extremely risky.
😷
That old control room with the skylight looks fantastic.
this is literally 10 min away from where I work :D monument of a sadly bygone era for Hungary...
great vid Leute
How is it looking today?
@@bwturbex pretty much the same, opened for journalists from time to time
Thanks for the subtitles! This video was amazing and I certainly cannot say enough about the security sheep.
🙂🙂🙂
Pretty scary move going in using the conveyors. Glad you all made it safely. Awesome shots!
🌱
Loving the new intro. These were superb examples of industrial architecture from distinct periods in time, and you did them justice with your recording. I now see the way your capture game helps prepare you for these infiltrations.
I hope you continue to put caution high on your list of values...if you aren’t careful you could find yourselves being courted by the military for special ops and espionage 😏. The editing gave a truly cinematic sense of tension and danger...well done. 🖤🇨🇦
👥 Ninjas can't get caught. 😂
Ah .. this agony of waiting is over 😁 .. Just started watching and can smell the quality 😄
Great ! Love abandoned factories and powerplants !
The control room looks like a 60's scifi movies spaceship bridge 😁 How awesome it must have looked in the operating days when everything was shiny and new. All equipment running .. and how many workers were occupied handling all the buttons and switches + following all the gauges.
Baahaaaaa! Wonderful explore! Many thanks & cheers!
Thx. 💛
You guys have a seriously underrated channel
🔝
This is in “Outside the Wire” movie on Netflix. Saw this episode recently then watched the movie and was like...ive seen that place before!!
Me too,, I remembered it was a place they had been before
Die Videos könnten im Kino laufen💁🏻♂️
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻😊
Your videos are always so good that I am afraid the next one wont come close, but it always is!
Your videos are awesome
🤩
2 sehr interessante infiltrationen. Eure Videos sind gut gemacht, sie sind ein Maßstab.
Wow, vielen lieben Dank!!!
I used to live just a few miles from that power plant and I didn't have a clue it's such a beatuful piece of art deco building. Thank you for the great video.
Amazing work once again! Thank you.
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
That control room is breathtaking 😍.
I climbed up an elevator to get into an abandoned iron processing plant, luckily the floor was metal and not rotten wood. You guys are crazy, thanks for making this amazing content.
If you want to shoot places like this, you probably just have to be crazy.
@@bwturbex also while there is construction, yeah you make a good point.
This is proper amazing and worth the wait 👍👏 You all are bloody brave on conveyor belt!! 😬😧 Cornelius's humours are brilliant too 😂😀
🤣🤣🤣
Props to Tobi for exploring that spot solo and remembering enough to guide you guys. True hero haha
Incredible as always! The control room kind of reminds me of that mediocre Golden Compass movie from the early 2000s
I think the driver was not paying attention to the plan. Lol. But, good show
Thank God we are friends on F.B. I would not of known about today video.
Hope you've enjoyed it. 😁
@@bwturbex I sure did. :)
First I would like to say :you boys are absolutely NUTS: and NO, I wouldn't have tried it back when I was in shape to! All of the risks you took- very worth it (she says from the comfort of her apartment)! What a place. Wonder how much dismantling it is going to cost? Sounds like a prime example of "job security" to me.
Thanks for sharing your explore with me! Stay safe and be well!
Hope the art fair is going well.. this was great but I have been waiting for the next one myself... Those trains look out of this world.. Thanks guys remain vigilant and be careful.. carry on!
29:00
Two sheep jump a platform.
Third sheep attemps and fails.
Stops and stares into the camera like:
"You didn't see shit!"
😂
Truly epic!!! You guys did such amazing job. As usual I can't wait until your next video.
Thanks a ton!!!
It was so worth waiting for!! This is truly beautiful !! Turbine hall !! I love that stairway !! The second one is amazing from the outside !! I love how you guys are so carefull getting in . That rotting floor is so bad you can see light through it !!! I am 😨 for you guys cool place but not worth dying for guys !! You made it !!!! I love that pictures of when it was in operation ! You guys are so sneaky I love it ! You guys are great !! Now the long road back....... Wait do they have security SHEEP !!! So many cool things of true beauty ! Great pictures !
🐑🐑🐑🤪
Eure Videos sind immer der Hammer. Auch immer die Geschichte der Gebäude und andere Informationen. Vielen Dank für eure Arbeit. Weiter so👍
It is the Govorilka Power Plant near Krrrmsmotowsk. Even from a distance, everyone can hear its typical sound:"dysh dysh dysh dysh dysh dysh, tara, Taram, druin, druin druiny".
It is truly a shame that today's industrial architecture has no place for making a workplace somewhere beautiful to be. The loss of so many of these buildings is a tragedy for architectural history
That power Station looks like a training school for Mad Scientists. The only other conveyor belt I have seen Climbed, was at an abandoned Mine in Nevada but it was much smaller. Wow, you guys are brave. Good Job.
Great video! Lucky you didn’t get caught!
😁
you are insane! those spots are awesome! congrats!
The thumbnail is gorgeous
second video in and im subscribed and liked! really enjoy watching your stuff. From alberta canada
Another great video guys.
Thanks a bunch. 🍌
Please do not worry about scheduling! Your Avant garde work is worth wait! Large risk, large reward! Thank you for taking us with you on these incredible journeys! Please be cautious!
Sometimes late but worth the wait😉
Sehr, sehr geile Erkundung🤯😍
👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
Great video. In fact I live near the first power plant in Budapest. The control room really looks like something come alive from a Jules Verne novel. Hello, from Hungary!
I am liking this before even watching.
Great video upload and wow that climbing does take some courage for sure! Great job!
😅😅😅
The conveyor reminds me of being in a dredger I once visited (pretty much my only urbex experience). It was leaning to one side, so looking out to see the lake on an angle was really strange and disorienting.
😳
Incredible! These places kept reminding me of H.R Giger. I kept expecting the Alien to drop down from the ceiling!
Nice work exploring and capturing this, guys! Worth the wait 👍
Thanks for the cool comment!
The control room has been seen in so many movies, Spy, RIPD 2, Outside the wire.
All time best! Oh wow, how exciting this episode. Love the scene that sheep were standing in front of the power plant. And those three cooling towers, look like a "W" ;) Keep it up with the great work, can't wait for the next one!
Thank you very much, Momo. 🏌️♂️
“It takes team work to make the dream work”... I love how well you guys work together! TFS ✌🏻
That's an important part of beeing a crew. 🐴
Is in Inota, my grandfather worked there before. XD
I feel like, I should fly from India to this places asap. Very well executed 💯
Hungary Forever!!
Awesome video, but tone down the music in the beginning a little, hard to hear your voice.
Okay, thanks. Will work on that!
Nice one. You could have shown the area of the power plant, how much it is in the city now. I live probably 5 kms from that place. The other power plant was built in an area where there was aluminium production in the past. It was feeding electricity to the aluminium melting plant. Local bauxite ore was a lower quality and the entire mining operation was closed as pumping water from the mine was causing the hot spring thermal water supply of Heviz to dry up. And the decision was made that preserving the natural hot spring and the tourism industry was worth more than mining the aluminium industry. Therefore the plant finished its purpose as well.
So I just happened to stumble on this control room in a Netflix movie called "Outside the Wire". It was a real shock to go "Hey, I know that place!!" The bunker is there too, the control room is there in all it's glory, serving as a backdrop of a control room for a military unit. Neat movie so far.
Gorgeous shots! The security sheep were cute too lol Can't wait for the next video :D
Next one in two weeks hopefully. 🖖🏽
You guys are the Gold Standard. Thanks so much!!!
✅✔
Loved the security sheep 🐑
Same!
WHAT - AN - EPISODE!!! i'm lost for words ...
So worth waiting for! Already amazed by the details of the places but the length you go to for us just Blows my mind can not tell you enough Please keep doing this but also please stay safe as well.
Awesome! Loved art deco. Love history. Thanks
✌🏽
Fabulous but i bet a genius that came not to far from the first power plant has some electric setup still being used today. My father an engr went on on about Telsa that was in 60s. When I lived PNW my mechanic who was from Hungary came over b4 wall went up think (was 1959). They explained history of Hungary all diff people that lived there & why the first world war started.
👍🏼
Sehr interessant. Tolle Aufnahmen. Gruß aus Italien
Just watched a netflix film, and this was in it. It came up as recommended watch. Small world.
Wait, more german explorers. Aaaand gorgeus places. Very nice
Amazing places.
