I like this version of the deck. Spike said something about wanting to try the version wish Wish, but I think he will come back to this version as the "correct" build.
Maybe a wild play, but 21:30 you could have gone Ritual (up to 5 total), Ritual (7 total), Ral (6 total), Past in Flames (4 total), ritual Flashback(6 total), Past in flames hold priority ritual (Going from 6->2, then 2->5 from ritual), which is a total of 6 spells cast and two ral triggers on the stack (one from the flashback past in flames, one from the flashback ritual) If Ral flips, he'd be on 8 and you'd be able to ult him with 5 red floating, and all of that'd be in response to a past in flames flashback... all at the low low price of being 25% to lose the flip twice in a row on Ral and fizzle!
I though Unstable Amulet was better wincon in this decks than Grapeshot, based on Spikes original brew and videos, he was even planning to cut all Grapeshots? But do you feel Grapeshot is better and Unstable Amulet in this deck, as 3 Grapeshot 0 Unstable Amulet, in this list? Even Flusterstorm and Mindbreak Trap are worse againts Grapeshot, but not so good againts Unstable Amulet? Also Unstable Amulet is like wincon + cantrip in same card.
Unstable amulet is better if you see it either before you go off, or early in your combo turn, but grapeshot + past in flames or 2x grapeshot can be seen at any time during the combo and you’ll almost always kill
Doesn't really make sense to pay a premium for the explore effect in a deck like this, that's more of an amulet strategy kind of effect. Also you want your spells to cost 2 or 3 with as few coloured pips as possible, to maximize the discount from medallion and Ral.
if you can fetch into surveil land and dig deeper for the second land it's fine, this deck specifically doesn't "need" more than 2 lands and is comfortable ending the game with only 3 lands because of the mana reduction and the rituals, but as you obviously see in game 1 there's always the risk of just not finding the 2nd land, honestly I wouldn't recommend doing it first game when you don't know what you're up against.
Hey, I know you're not the main brewer, but what about going Izzet to use Mox Amber with the 8 legends in Baral and Ral? Going Izzet would also let you run Pieces of the Puzzle, a strict upgrade to Glimpse the Unthinkable, in my opinion.
I think loosing out on ruby medallion is too much of a loss. It not being a creature is just huge honestly and mox amber is probably too clunky anyway as it does nothing without one of those eight creatures and is not an instant or sorcery for ral and past in flames.
@@benjaminsouthworth5698 Yeah, I've felt that. I've been goldfishing with both UR with mox and Mono R definitely feels better. The ability of Ruby to make Ral a one mana draw 8 with a few spells while you're going off is just too good to give up and Opal is too inconsistent, leading to too many dead draws. Also, Pieces of the Puzzle had too low of a hit rate with 12 creatures (included Dragon's Rage while I was goldfishing) and 3-4 artifacts. I do wonder if Pyromancer Ascension may find a home in Ruby, but I don't know if there's enough selection to make it work consistently, but I bet it could see a one of spot in sideboards of versions running Wish for games where it'd be easy to turn on or that run longer.
This deck is sick, but the land count is too low. I've seen this deck being played a lot and sensibly more than 50% of the games lost are due to not seeing lands. Plus it looks very hard to flood out when you have 12 wrenn's resolve effects + 4 pif + eventually amulets. Even if you see one less spell when wrenn's resolving it's not impactful most of the times as when you start comboing you always have more than enough.
Luis has good banter and fast play but 1.25x speed still feel like great value here.
slow opponents on mtgo are the worst
I’ve been playing Gruul storm for about 2 years, I’m so happy to see a deck that is basically a better version of Gruul storm is poppin off right now
At 6:02 I’m pretty sure from watching spike play that you might be supposed to go off. Ritual in ral+ second ritual, manamorphose and you’re cooking.
That last match, casting 3 Reckless Impulses "How many times do we have to teach you this lesson?"
Game 1 is a great example of why Wish is better than Grapeshot in this deck. Wishing for a Pick Your Poison would have been huge there
We need some videos of LSV playing some Eldrazi in modern 😮
LSV teaches so much everytime i watch

Love the deck! Can you upload at 4k? I watch from my tv sometimes and its a bit hard to read the cards at 1080p
25:24 nice to see I'm not the only one who thinks of Linebreaker that way
Lmao
This was so much fun, please play more modern constructed!!
Sweet! I was waiting for your take on this brew.

I think the list with 0 Amulet and x3 Wish is the best
The current tech is Wish because it helps you win against many lock pieces.
Honestly Unstable Amulet feels way better than Grapeshots 2&3. It is a wincon that helps you go off.
And lets you spread out a win over multiple turns
also you can win trough a ring protection trigger
@@_gunter_ No you can't. Ring give you protection which prevents damage not just targeting.
Yup. It looks like LSV isn't playing Spike's most up-to-date list.
@@Delarissa oh yeah mb, i thought it was worded like "each opponent loses one life" but i'm wrong
Been out of modern for a couple years, but is Gifts Storm just not viable anymore, especially in comparison to this?
way too slow, unless there's some kind of new brew from MHIII that can ramp to it.
Hasn’t been viable in years
Why didn't you plus eat the rail
Do you think this deck could run Escape to the Wilds? Unnecessary?
only castable in win-more situations

You don't want cards that get a 20% discount off medallion. You want cards that get a 50% discount.
temur is little better i think with veil of summor and flame of anor
Why do pro players don´t mulligan once their have just one land? Ins´t the risk to big to be taken?

can't spell elves without lsv next 👀

land count seems unreasonably low to me. You always need to hit your second land drop
well you have the serveil on 1 almost every game and i think this is a bit of a fixed version were lands were added
Its not a glass canon at all, its really resilient and it is broken AF. I wouldnt invest, ban target getting bigger and bigger
So...did he just punt?
No bolts and veils in 75 seems weak, dauthi and countermagic matchups
luis
That was one of the worst match 1’s I’ve ever seen. You got absolutely rolled by zoo.
