Korea award shows have different culture where they allow some top artists that year to have longer amount time to perform.

Fun fact: the horses has "BTS" embroidered onto their saddles. And Yes the 7 lights has something to do with astronomy, they refer to the Ariadne constellation. Ariadne is Dionysus' wife. The song that they were doing is called "Dionysus". Dionysus, the God of wine, the arts and merry making is from the Thracian bloodline and they are known for their beautiful horses (hence the horses on stage). The guy with the veil refers to the legend of the veiled King. He was derided despite doing good, possibly BTS were alluding to their hardships in relation to haters, antis, naysayers. The 7 members represent 7 greek gods/goddesses. Here are some breakdown:
- V as Apollo the Sun God. We see Cirque du Soleil acrobats featured here, well Cirque du Soleil means the Circus of the Sun.
- Jin as Athena. Athena was the Goddess of wisdom and battle strategy. She was the brainchild behind the Trojan horse, and here Jin is on one. Some fans say that Jin is Ares the God of war, but I don't see anything Ares here. For instance Ares' color is red for bloodshed and violence. Don't think BTS want to allude themselves to these. And during the Trojan War, Ares was beaten by Athena. Haha
- Jimin as Aphrodite, the Goddess of love and beauty. Aphrodite was born whole from the ocean. She emerged from white foam of waves off the coast of Cyprus. Here Jimin is emulating her birth by emerging from under the stage and the billowy white cloths (pulled by the other 2 dancers) are the waves. And of course, Jimin is beautiful.. Some say that Jimin is Artemis the goddess of the moon and hunting but I don't see anything in the performance that allude Jimin to Artemis.

Most people believe Jimin was Artemis because the all white attire made him look like moonlight. White also represents purity which fits with Artemis since one of her wishes to Zeus was to remain a virgin. Artemis and Apollo were also twins and in the Dionysus performance Tae (who everyone pretty much agrees represented Apollo) had an earring on and Jimin was wearing the other matching earring, so people think that was done on purpose to show they’re twins. In the GDA VCR Tae was wearing a Sun crown and Jimin a Serpent headpiece, which was one of Artemis’s sacred animals (though obviously her most famous was the deer).
It wouldn’t surprise me because Tae and Jimin have shown interest in the Sun and Moon dynamic so many times. From getting henna done to Jimin’s real moon tattoos. Jimin referring to himself as coming from the moon and Tae the stars in Friends. Even when it comes to Jimin’s new photo book, if you watch the behind the scenes vid, you can see Artemis written down as one of the inspirations for his concept.
@@tase8723 Artemis' color is grey or silver not white. Moonlight is always allude to as silver - "silvery moonlight" not "white moonlight". That's why I don't see a strong correlation to this performance with Artemis. There are a few goddesses associated with purity, Athena included but the #1 contender is Astria.
@@sariel8406 they might have gone with white over silver or grey for Jimins due to problems silver and grey have with filming. Those colors have always not shown well unless you have very specific lighting. And they couldn’t have the lights set for that if they wanted the over all effect they wanted.

The Dionysus performance has lots of Greek symbolism. Each members solo represented a Greek god.

Jimin - Artemis, Goddess of the Moon

J-Hope - Zeus, God of Thunder

The lights create the star constellation 'Corona Borealis' which was the name of the crown Dionysus gave his wife which has 7 jewels

i've watched 10+ reactors react to mma 2019 and all of them quickly said "HELL NAH" after joon's "y'all ready for this?". also they looked like their souls were taken away when the performance's finished 😂 and that's just for a music award

This isn’t even a concert… so you now see just what level they are that they can do THAT live, well worth the time and money. Their live performances just can’t be matched. Sound,
visuals, they got the choreography, the wardrobe, the sets, the overall artistic visions just wow. I have yet to be wowed by recent performances in the US.

The 7 lights that came down represent the 7 members, but it also is the 7 stars for the constellation Corona Borealis. This is the crown that Adrande wore, who is the wife of Dionysus (the name of the final song and sets). So, astrology/mythology is something that BTS really f with. So with the song Mikrokosmos, with all the stars and planets lead righ into this. They're such f'in geniuses and brilliant. "Profound" and you have to have some genius in you, to understand BTS. Which I am not, but google is. LOL!!! You guys are very entertaining!

In my opinion this is their best performance ever but you should check MMA 2020 it's pretty awesome too even though there was one member missing ( Suga ) because he had a shoulder surgery but the performance was lit 💜 appreciate the reaction guys it's an awesome video 💜

As others have mention ed that at the end they all represent a Greek god. V is Apollo. Jin is Artemis or Ares. Jimin is Aphrodite or Artemis. Suga is Hephaestus god of fire, blacksmiths, etc. Jungkook is Poseidon, Jhope is Zeus (lasers are like lightning that he controls). And RM is Dionysis, god of the grape-harvest, winemaking, orchards and fruit, vegetation, fertility, insanity, ritual madness, religious ecstasy, festivity, and arts.
The leopard is one of his symbols and the staff that RM grabs is his thyrsus. He was born twice. They refer to it in the song as them being reborn as artists. They also refer to being drunk on their art.

Bighit opening says music for healing... and you can't help but feel good and smile with BTS, just like the rest of us. Jimin is dancing to I NEED YOU (girl) first major hit in America. Suga comes out to FIRE, JK dances to SAVE ME, Jhope dances to FAKE LOVE, V/Taehyung dances to NO MORE DREAMS one of their first songs, Jin comes out to DANGER, RM comes out to DIONYSIS - check out all the videos!
This is an AWARD SHOW so all the other KPOP groups are there including ARMY audience
First, you guys should notice that the first songs with the similar ending poses are called "Boy In Luv" and "Boy With Luv". The first one came out in 2014 (song that made me an Army) and the second one in 2019.
Second, since BTS stands for Bulletproof boyscouts, bullets, guns and being bulletproof are concepts that have always being part of their thing. So in Boy in Luv the ending pose is a gun (they use that sign often, but it's just related to the concept of the group and not actual gun). But regarding the songs, the first one is about teenage love and the second about how they now as adults feel about loving someone. So basically the link between these two songs is about their inner growth regarding love and their personality etc. At the end of Boy With Luv, one member (usually JK in the middle), changes the gun sign to "I love you" sign (sign language 🤟), which also shows this difference between the two songs.
so now you know how BTS performs they would break every single bone of theirs to give 10000% that’s how passionate they are💜

I've been fighting to keep BTS at arm's length for years. They, and their fandom, are a phenomenon. Watching you guys react to this gave me goosebumps the whole time! Yes, Bandana, it does make ya feel good. K-pop has to be the greatest serotonin factory out there.
Some of it was prerecorded, yes, but they still performed all of it live (not sure about Jungkook water dance). Like there are videos of this show without all this fancy camera work, just from fixed points and V, Jin, Hobi and Suga's entrances was there, but all of them was in black suits which we can see them wearing during Dionysus. While here they are in white ones. It seems that they switched shooting for prerecorded one for better suiting the performance aesthetic. So only Jimin had to rush and change clothes, others just got their makeup fixed. Didn't saw Jungkook performance, though, but it's understandable. And Mikrocosmos is obviously prerecorded, Suga has different hair there. I didn't see different video for it.
They really put their everything into their singing, dancing and stages. They are world class performers and they deserve all that they have and they deserve even more. I am so proud of them! I love them so much!!!
Watching BTS performances like this leaves you in awe and wanting for more. When we say BTS are AMAZING we do mean they are over the top AMAZING! They are the most hardest working group of artists who truly cares on what they bring to the table for their fans. Their devotion to their crafts and their fans are the reasons why ARMY is so totally devoted to them. To ultimate ARMY, we live and die as ARMY. Your ending reaction was priceless, btw.😄
On the other hand, you were right about the lights. It is the constellation for Dionysus called Corona Borealis and each light represents the seven members as seven Gods of the Greek Myth. When it comes to BTS, generally nothing is random, even on live stage performances. There are symbols, references and meanings which becomes an Easter eggs hunt for the fans.
Bts Is known as THE group to know how to put on a show ☺ so happy you reacted to this iconic stage. Its not a concert, its actually an award show 😂 but they always turn these award shows to their concert cause of how lit their stages are and how huge the fandom is

They do change fast. But I think for that Mikrokosmos performance it was pre-recorded, which they do sometimes during award shows. That also allowed for the effects and stuff during the performance. One of my fave performances from them! THANK YOU for taking the time to react to it! Glad you enjoyed it.

The thing is you have to keep in mind this is an award show. Not a concert. This is just BTS performance, there were performances by other artists. Those people sitting on the side are other artists. They sit the artists together on the side by the stage to wait for a possible award, to watch the performances and later perform themselves. I love my country, but the US cannot compete with an Asian award show. The venue and production values are beyond. The shows in SK and China be above and beyond.

Guys, I am so happy your reacted to this. I think EVERYONE should. I am 84 years old and love my BTS. This is not a concert but an AWARD SHOW !!!. We don't have ANYTHING to match that here. This is taken from Greek Mythology. Each BTS Member is representing a Greek God. Please read responses below on this page to help you understand the whole concept. The lights and also the horses have a special meaning.
This was such a great show !!!!! UPDATE: The audience is actually chanting their names in order as to age... The guys are always off the chain, there's a reason why they're on top.. BTS is short for Bangtan Sonyeondan which translates to bulletproof boy scouts in English.
This is literally my favorite performance ever for any artist. It's so funny how they did a Mini concert in the middle of an award show. And their concerts are amazing. You should watch the LA concert they did. It's on Disney+.

The award shows in Korea go crazyyyy! I remember seeing this performance live at 5 am and I was freaking out. They always give 200% and more. Just when you think they couldn’t do more they surprise you every time. That’s some King shit. They were born to be performers.

but when BTS performed is liked a concert. Our OT7 have come along way that why ARMY loved them when they start out barely minimum exposure. Today the 4th generations of kpop have able to be success thanks to BTS opened the door to westerners in 2017 when they were invited to Billboard.

When BTS join an award show, u know it's time for BTS give the audiences a 'simulator views of BTS concert' and what?! They'll gain more ARMY for the fandom 🛐
Just to put in perspective on how exhausting this performance must have been, I used to be in marching band all four years of high school. A normal show's length (at least where we come from) is about 10-11 minutes long. And it's absolutely exhausting. I remember this one time my junior year when I had been assigned to push a heavy prop during part of the show and it had to be done in a certain amount of time so I could get into my next position (insert me frantically running around) and play my flute, which if you aren't aware takes a crap ton of air to do. Imagine having lungs couldn't be me. But seriously though, after one of our performances in a competition, I remember pushing this prop off the field and down this tunnel along with my band and once I got to the bottom, I practically passed out on top of the prop lmfao. And that's after 3 years of experience.
Now how the hell did these guys perform such a high energy show in HALF AN HOUR. WHAT.
It still boggles my mind to this day how they got through this alive, ESPECIALLY in the clothes they were wearing. That on top of how hot that stage must be with all of the lights as well as the heat from the amount of people in that arena.
I always say, its so generous of BTS to allow an award show to take place during their concerts. lol 😁
They are just the best. They put 200% efforts in every thing they do.

The entire concert is free for people attending, people in the overflow stations that can't fit in the stadium, and for people watching online. You really won't want to miss it! (I know I sound like a hype man, but after getting to see them with my own eyes in Vegas in April, everybody should get to see one of their shows at least once!)
Mind you that this is not a concert. This was an awards show. Crazy!
