As a former railroader I applaud you for yelling at them at least now maybe they will think hey maybe someone is watching us and now as a foamer I applaud your work the video is really good and the narration was superb.
Being a railroad enthusiast one thing but actively trespassing on well known and active railroad tracks is flat out dangerous especially on lines with light speed restrictions. Just enjoy the scenery from a safe distance.
great work. don't care about offending them, saving their lives is what's important. also going in a boxcar is dangerous, never know if there is something sharp inside, or if a train comes and pulls it away
It's great you yelled at those two idiots who were on that track the approaching train was on to get off because that was the only thing that got their attention. Trains cannot stop at short distances.
I had a close call too last year, actually much closer than this one. The kids that day were younger than the kids here, and honestly, I should've run after them after they left the tracks (within about 10 seconds of a local freight doing at least 45) and asked where their parents were. It's easy for us all to regret having not done more and to run through all kinds of hypotheticals in our heads, but once it's beyond our control and the past is the past, all we can do is be grateful it didn't end worse, and be prepared for any other BS in the future.
That’s a good point. Any day where one of our videos doesn’t get used by Operation Lifesaver is a good one. And it’s sad we have to think that way, but it’s reality. That Metra was realistically less than a minute from going into emergency, all for whatever stupid thing they were trying to do.
I have been to the location and that parking to watch the trains and never have I seen someone so oblivious that to the fact that the tickling death with walking on tracks I avidly remind my rail buddies stay of the tracks and stay safe
Yeah been maybe 20 25 years since I saw that video and that brief second or two when she just freezes suddenly realizing she was looking at death bearing down on her still haunts me. Seriously don't look it up folks or if you absolutely must go for the censored version.
I was just in glen ellyn yesterday and I didn’t see anything like this but I have seen people just walk on the tracks when there is a sidewalk not even a few feet away
I don’t know why but, people aren’t that safe on the metra tracks, but you saved some kids! That’s actually good but I mean, really, why would kids do that.
I didn't realize it when I was a kid, you can lose your life real quick ! that's private property anyway , one call to the do the railroad detective , game over .

Glad you were there to record. Just imagine if you weren’t there. May have been seeing them in the local newspaper

Excellent narration and footage, you did an amazing job on this. Subscribed!
Thanks, welcome!
Great video man. If you’re looking for the craziest part the video, that starts at around 6:15
Thanks for watching!
Haha way to keep those kids safe!

Thank you for yelling at them to get off the tracks. That was the right thing to do.

I witnessed that incident where the woman got hit by that train. I was 19 at the time. Remember it like it happened today.
Hopefully those jack wagons learn their lesson
You were in my neck of the woods.
My first time heading down that way. Great spot, just wish I had more time.
Sheesh come man if you see a train barreling towards you get off the tracks it's not hard to understand
All on the Chicago & Northwestern.
Guess there was one big red blood stain on the front of the locomotive. .
Stop. Trains can’t
Cool
