  • Blue crab fishing on the Loxahatchee River in Jupiter, FL. Catching crabs from my Solo Skiff using traps with mullet as bait.
    Easy way to clean and cook the crabs. Cleaning the crabs makes less mess when it comes to eating them and also ensures a lot of flavor in the meat from the seasoning.

    Hey Manny, nice video. I see that you have the new Florida Reg traps. Where did you get them? I have been looking around, and can't find any that follow the new regulations.

    PFD? does florida not require a worn pfd for a kayak hybrid skiff? .. or do they actually consider the solo a boat..so you can leave the pfd in the hatch?

      I should be wearing one. I've since got one that is good for fishing. I was under the assumption that a solo skiff fell under the same rules as a kayak, small boat, or a SUP where you didn't need to wear, but just have one on the vessel. I tried to research some more and can't find if it would be required by law or not. For a PWC, it is required by law, I don' believe this type of boat is considered a PWC though. I just found in the 2017 owner manual for the solo skiff that it says that a life jack is required by law when operating one. I'm going to research this more, but always smart to wear one regardless.

    Great video .... BUT .... never keep crabs in water it kills them just keep a damp cloth on top of them..... they run out of oxygen fast when kept in water

      thanks. Yeah, will need to do that next time out on the skiff. When I'm on the bigger boat I normally just throw them in the live well to keep them alive.

    It`s a shame people can`t leave things alone that don`t belong to them . Where was your ( R ) that is suppose to be on your Buoy . Nice Crabs

    • @MVetti3
      @MVetti3  3 года назад

      thanks. The R was on each Bouy, I always take my black marker and put another layer of ink on it before dropping in since I leave outside and it wears off after a month or two of being outside.

      thanks, yeah I don't do that anymore. Luckily I only had them in there for about 15 minutes before taking out and getting them ready to cook and they were all still alive by the time I started prepping them
