So, there my party is knee deep in gore, assorted viscera and putrid fluids best left undescribed. (Inspired by the bottom of the Rotten Vale from Monster Hunter World) About them, a cathedral of bones erected where the beasts fell, these long dead ancient wyrms. They had tracked the dracolich Vaas-kut'kaur down, and the battle had raged - literally, in the Barbarians case - to a standstill. The Cleric, nearly out of spells and most definitely out of diamonds for revivify, reached to the heavens and beseeched his god, "Let there be FIRE!!" Mechanically, he was seeking a freebie Flamestrike from the DM, and used Divine Intervention. He rolled a Nat 1 on percentile dice. I described as the heavens swirled in a black vortex, only for the vortex to begin burning before sinking like a burning drill into the beasts glowing, arcane heart. He rolled damage. IIRC, he rolled exactly or just over the dracoliches current hp. The boss drops, players go mental, and then all but the Cleric took acid damage from the goop they stood in and went unconscious. Cleric with 3 HP and no spell slots prevents a tpk by rolling something like 43 fire damage.
Excellent video again! The metal D6 got me good.

1st story - This was a real nat 20 epic moment. Not some crazy hyped up exaggeration where the DM treated a nat 20 like a world changing event. It's a 5% chance, not 1 in a million.
    Roll for worthiness?
