Hi Kris and Kelly. Most of my stick time lately has been spent on 5in fpv's, so I found the Avata 2, which I did get, to be way under powered for acro. I have hit the ground so many times now. I think it will be a good drone for those indoor, and around people shots, but I'm going to stick to my hot rods for those stunt shots. The goggles are the best part of this drone though. I can't wait for them to become backward compatible, or for an 04 air unit to come out.
Hi Mike! Interesting you felt it was underpowered. At first, I thought maybe there might be a problem with your unit, but I suppose if you compare the Avata 2 to a 6s freestyle quad, it would definitely feel underpowered. In this video, and the manual mode video, I really didn't feel any heaviness or lack of power, especially when comparing it to the Avata 1. It's all relative I guess, but I'm genuinely impressed by the A2 for its general all around usefulness.
Got both drones. (I prefer stupid children). The MAIN reason I got the Avata 2 was the lower, less annoying noise factor. I frequently fly in a park similar to where you were (lots of trees, lakes, etc.) and there are people walking around getting their exercise. NO ONE even glances at the Avata 2 until it's right next to them. Or when I fly between their legs mid-step. And for overall smoothness and responsiveness it's an incredible step up from the Avata 1. Great review, Kelly.
I really like the comparison of the two, I just like 👍 all the improvements of the new version of the old. I haven't gotten the new one yet, but I will
Great comparison guys, and I agree with almost all your points. I'm a big fan of the new Avata 2 drone, Goggles 3 and Motion 3 controller. Thanks for sharing.
I might get it one day if it becomes backwards compatible with the integra goggles and old controller. The Avata 1 doesn't seem durable to me at all so far I already broke 2 of them. The first crash I don't know what happened I turned too fast maybe Idk it slammed the ground and would not turn off and smoke boiled out and it was toast, esc error. second crash just bumped a big umbrella bounced off the table and starting making a weird noise, I'm going to crash it some more before I send it back. You guys always give a good honest review and I always take what you say into account before a purchase.
Thanks for commenting, Jeff. I think it's just a matter of time until there's more compatibility. Sorry about your Avata 1 experience! That's no fun! We've had good luck so far, even after crashing this Avata 2 into a metal pole and concrete. If you saw our recent "Manual Mode" video, you'll remember how much we bashed up this poor Avata 2. 😂
@@SunriseWaterMedia No worries on the crashes I had, I got 4 replacements and another year left. I been watching on the tv a lot on a different account and there's no way to comment but I'm watching just under a different subscriber.
Kris looked like he was held captive at the beginning 😳.... on a serious note, the A1 has 5 blade props, the A2 has 3 blades. I'm using 4 blades from Master Airscrew. Does the A2 have any other offerings of different numbered props and how do you free that comparison would be???? 🤔 LOVE YOU GUYS ❤🤡
Should I blink twice if I need help? 😉 I really like the 4 bladed props on the Avata 1, just because of the increased flight time. I remember really trying to feel a difference between flying the Avata1 with the 5 bladed vs 4 bladed props. I really couldn't feel a difference in flight experience. I feel like 3 blades are great on the Avata 2. It's got more of a freestyle quad type vibe, which I like. I doubt that any other props would be any better.
Excellent comparison. I bought the Avata 2 and it's my only FPV drone and loving it so far. It's #QuieterAndLessAnnoying than the Avata 1 and that made it #HardNotToBuy. LOL
Couldn’t agree more! You can tell the difference between people who have flown “The Avatas” a lot and those that haven’t when it comes to comparison talk. You guys have clearly flown the crap out of the first one too. Night and day difference. You can’t float the old one on low throttle as nicely, it’ll tank!
It depends on a few things. Flight time needed. Low light situations. How tight are the spaces? Can you get close, or do you need to zoom in? Not knowing any of those parameters, my first recommendaiton would be the AIR 3S. bit.ly/RSD_AIR3S
Air 3s is a great drone, has 360 degree obstacle avoidance, and the cameras are great ... 1 inch sensor on 24mm lense, and 1/1.3 inch sensor on 70mm lense. Check out our review with example footage. ruclips.net/video/xMOkayQzPeg/видео.htmlsi=VfyN1w3falTLZuyF

I'd like to see you fly through their legs mid-step. 😅 Too funny, Brian!

Is there really any question???? College vs a new drone? Buy another drone! LOL
Lol Hugh 😂
#HardNotToBuy
So I bought the A 2
Nice work guys!
Ha! Thanks for seeing the hashtag, Mathias. 👊
Great stuff fellas. Even the axis motors on the avata 1 don't make it any quieter. 😂
Kelly & Kris, thank you for your excellent review comparison between the A1 & A2. 👏👏.

Thanks. We respect the OG Avata 1 - but there is definitely a new sheriff in town!
Good seeing you guys again!
Great Comparison. Yes my Avata1 is a Screamer. Still alot of fun!
Avata 2 in the near future!
Take care!
Thanks Tony!
Still saving my drone $$. It's in the "I want" category, not the "I need" category right now.
Yeah - AVATA 2 is definitely a "nice to have", but not a "gotta get it".
Hello you guys seem smart, let me ask you something. I'll be using a drone for inspecting concrete building details, what would you recommend?
