Really liked your insights! EC applied for the Eurovision song contest with their song Pump It in 2022 and even though there was a petition with 100000 signatures in support of them, German officials denied them because they were not "radio friendy". Germany was last again and EC charted no 1 with their album Tekkno. Best thing that happened. :) Keep it going!
I like that they are all over the place with a heavy focus on fun songs. They can go from German Schlager (cheesy, kitschy pop) to darkest death metal and they're just super nice guys. Check out Fckboy or Hurrikan (german lyrics but translation is on the web somewhere) and they'll keep surprising you.
So glad you've given these talented guys another chance! There's nothing more fun than EC LIVE! Keep your eyes on drummer, David...he's always doing something hysterical! A couple other "serious" songs are Hate/Love, Supernova and Prism (live, acoustic). You'll hear more of clean singer, Nico Sallach's voice...he really reminds me of a young Chester Bennington.
Thank you for offering up ELECTRIC CALLBOY. It has been quite a while since I have listened to them. I enjoy their energy and humour, good musicianship and being just a tad off the well-trodden path. I look forward to tomorrow's reaction...but, really anxious for BAND-MAID Monday to come. lol
I think you'd like their cover of Everytime we Touch. Also, Fuckboi is completely different from their normal style and worth a listen. Hate/Love is my favorite of their serious songs after seeing them live.
A 2x1 offer? Yes please!~~ Ahem... joking aside, Hypa Hypa is very catchy, and the video is very hilarious (it reminds me of the video of the song Dragostea Din Tei by O-Zone; mind you, that one is a whoooooooolly different kind of song XD) At first I wasn't into Mindreader, but it gets progressively better.. I can tell they wanted to convey a less humorous emotion with it than with Hypa Hypa
i just noticed, even though i am a metalhead of all kinds: that "screamo" or harsh vocals is something i generally like, but not always. you saying "it doesnt bother me in this because its not serious" made me think. i now know i like it when it supports emotions, like in hypa hypa being kinda too heavy which makes it even more ridiculous and funny, or when it conveys emotions, where you are so angry or sad you just want to scream, like in mindreader, when there is a woman, gf, spouse, or a person in general who just plays and uses you and you knowing "i need to get out of this hell". in the other cases it almost seems like bragging ala "look at me, what fancy skill i got for my vocals", to be exaggerating i think your opinion is similar tbh... if the scream fits the context, its nice
Exactly!! The context is key. Songs that are screaming from start to finish, or growling from start to finish, bore me to tears. But if it punctuates something important it can be absolutely brilliant. It’s a tool like any other music tool, and it should be used sparingly. There’s a reason people don’t have guitar solos during the ENTIRE song.
@@markabusireactions i actually wanted to say something similar, but i dropped it cause my comment already was so long :D my thought was "screaming, growling, or something like that, is like a musical instrument... it doesnt always fit". if the whole song is about anger, always growling is ok... if its all about pain, screaming all the way through might be ok those are the extremes, i know, but if the song strongly pushes in one direction and it fits, its fine by me and EC here really shows how this music tool can and/or should be applied
I agree with your assessment but the music video is even funnier for Hypa Hypa. May I recommend a more sophisticated parody Metal band called Nanowar of Steel out of Italy. No growls. Combines both homage to and parody of the genre chosen. Go for the music videos and put on captions as they have a tendancy to switch languages often in a song. Try Norwegian Reggaeton first then Valhalleluja closer to Christmas for the gospel touch. ❤️ Am loving going through your catalogue.👍👍 🥰🥰Hugs from a Metalhead Canadian Dear🇨🇦😂🦋
I wonder how a live crowd 'hyper hypered' reacts to the serious songs, people who know please let me know I really want to know how they organise the set list?
@@markabusireactionsgood opinion, the music videos are hilarious but only live you can catch a glimpse of their energy and that makes the difference to most bands today

That’s amazing hahaha 😂 I might need to make a video on the best Eurovision songs. It’ll be pretty short 😂

Dance baby dance!
"Dance?"
I wanna DAAAAANCE!

Oh our boys blind channel was at the stage too ❤️❤️❤️
Don’t know them, should I check it out?
@@markabusireactions They were in Eurovision 2021 :-D and they were good!
Enjoyed this reaction 🎉
Thanks!!
Go see them, they are absolutely the best at what they do, and this recording does not give it justice.

I wouldn’t get too excited about tomorrows 😂😂
Now that I realize they're German, I'm kinda not convinced their serious songs are serious either.
😂😂😂 it’s hard to tell sometimes isn’t tit?
Probably you should try their songs Hate/Love, Fckboi, Parasite and MC Thunder 2 -could be your cup of tea😊
I can totally understand you: I never liked Screaming vocals but Electric Callboy is now my favourite band 💁
It depends on the screaming and the context, I’m starting to realise 😂

That’s a good point hahaha
They were my entry drug. Absolutely hated harsh vocals before hearing EC. Now getting into death metal?!? What's next??
From death metal all you have left is crack
why the live hypa? watch the original hypa hypa
I watch what I watch 🤷♂️
