    its freaking fantastic, money well spent, it isn't as cumbersome as other models and the power is astounding considering it isnt that big.

      PD40 is 3000 lumens. But nevertheless still plenty of power.

    Just getting into flashlights and impressed by the power and compact size. IMO Fenix is on top for having the best beam pattern.
    BUT in this flashlight industry 6061 aluminum is far from special. It's very commonly used to making lots of stuff, cheap to make and not strong.
    Come on Fenix, at least have these expensive flashlights made of 7075 or something harder. Step up the game in this industry. At the prices flashlights are currently selling for 7075 aluminum should be the minimum.
    I understand profit is everything in business, but come on now. How are flashlights considered tactical when they break from a little higher than shoulder height? Thought they were capable for self defense and if you gotta throw the light they would still be working.
    I know that business is doing so well in the flashlight industry, but I hope soon the people can have flashlights worth their current price when it comes to quality material, durability. Performance is already there. If anything, runtime would be the next thing to improve on. 6061 really is cheap and not that tough. Not even in hobby grade rc cars.

      We feel that this aluminum is a quality material, a good compromise between durability and cost, that is strong enough to withstand most impacts, including getting run over by a car. Also, we recommend that you not throw your flashlight at an assailant. Please use the strobe mode to disorient them instead.

      @@FenixLightingUSA thanks for replying. I understand they can be run over, but can't be dropped more than 3 to 4 feet. If I had to toss the flashlight to someone, it could break. It's not often that flashlights get run over. More common that they fall.
      Oh well. I only suggested it and it seems fenix isn't trying to move forward in terms of durability. For what they sell for at fenix they should be made of at least 7075 aluminum. Fenix makes some of the best all around practical flashlights with good throw, flood and runtime, but value wise, it's not.
      Kinda why all flashlight companies can easily throw out discounts all the time and still know they are profiting.
      It's a lost cause for me so I won't go on.

    I just bought one and found out that turbo will not stay for more than 1 second if the battery is below 85% percent. I need that 10000 lumens to make a quick search around the farm at night. My thrunite Tn36 which I had before this will do it with 50% battery

    what could this light be with SFT40 LED's?

    • @FenixLightingUSA
      @FenixLightingUSA  Год назад

      I assume you are looking for a longer distance beam? This light is meant to throw a very wide beam and is not intended to be a distance thrower. It gets hot enough as it is ;) Look to the HT18 (which has a SFT40) or LR50R (SST70) if you are looking for a longer throw. Also the TK35UE V2.0, which is very similar in size/shape, and has SFT40s, but throws less than the LR35R. www.fenixlighting.com/

      @@FenixLightingUSA whatever happened to the old true Fenix homemade buck drivers? My tk35 was series. Grabbing an extra 17% runtime, while you can in a 2 cell light, is important to me. Runtime is everything, since the lux gets pretty dim with dead cells.... I know, the cover story is that parallel self balances cells. Which is not an issue if good cells and a battery tester came with the light. Of course, I carry a multimeter with me. But a single handed battery tester are far easier to operate.

    Can I use the fenix 5000mah 21700 battery? And also can I use 5100mah 21700 imr battery?

    • @FenixLightingUSA
      @FenixLightingUSA  2 года назад +1

      It will work with the 5000mAh (Fenix ARB-L21-5000) but it will act a bit different. When the batteries get low it will cycle down to a lower brightness level. The 4000P that comes with it doesn't do that. It will give full output until the batteries are depleted. Flat top batteries cannot be used.

    • @dennisgarber

      @@FenixLightingUSA What is a shame, is that these multi led lights do not include warm and coolish leds, with two ramping drivers, so the user could get the color we want, or all out mixture. I built a 240 watt light, with 40 percent 4000k and 60 percent 6500. I was surprised when I , together, they measure 5000k. I think color control is very important, but so far neglected in my job site color inspection lights. sometimes a blue looks better with a low cri cool, while the reds always look best with a high cri, unless they are orange reds. I would rather a dial a color temp light than a fixed tint and cri, anyday.
