Ok so the Walker Hayes song is about as country as Miley Cyrus but your right it does have an infectious groove and that’s why a lot of kids like it. I can t stand to watch the video. With that being said I think you enlightened me a bit. This is a parody of sorts and if you watch the video and listen to the words with that in mind you get a good laugh out of it.

Country Rap is a huge sub genre of rap. It is not country music as much as rap from a country rather than an urban perspective. Ryan Upchurch is probably the biggest name in Southern/Country Rap. The term Hick Hop is derogatory and applies to some of the earlier whacked country rap music. Upchurch also has country and rock albums and gold records in all 3 genres. Check out his song 'Can I Get an Outlaw' with Luke Combs which has 84 million views on RUclips.
