Can I adopt your mum . She so lovely. I am Indian and unfortunately didn’t have a good relationship with my mother or father. So it so nice to see the relationship between you and your mum. I’m learning a lot from you both when it comes to cooking. I still can’t make roti mine I can’t get to puff up or get a round shape.

When you come from a family of 8 kids and your only one singled out you grow up questioning why. I have a lot of people not related that I known in my life and they made up for love I was refused. But coming from Asian family you never expect I’ll treatment. That why I love cheats and her mums relationship. Even though I grew up seeing my mum cook I never learned from her I was denied food. That why chentas blogs bring joy to me as I can learn Indian cooking from her. Chen t as a inspiration as I have a eating disorder but watching her makes me want to recover .

Nom nom nom to Mum’s Dahl. I absolutely love watching your Mum cook Chetna. I usually cheat and cook the tadka in the same pan l cook the Dahl in, so cook the onion mix first then cook the Dahl in the onion mix. I am definitely going to try it your Mum’s way and l am even going to cook using the Ghee. 👌👌♥️

Don't forget as SA indians we put chillies in everything 😂😅 even on the side as a garnish 😂

I have a condition that makes my potassium levels run too low. I have some weird food allergies/sensitivities that prevent me from eating some of the most potassium-rich foods (banana, avocado, for example), so I'm looking to get more legumes into my diet.
This recipe hit the spot! I served it over basmati rice topped with some garden-ripe serrano chilis, a dollop of homemade yogurt, and your chapati recipe. Being on a "special diet" might not be so bad after all!
