  • The recent addition of Maverick Vinales heart rate while racing a motorcycle to the MotoGP on-screen stats got me thinking about how riding a bike affects my heart rate. So I tested it out with a heart rate monitor comparing casual riding to faster/exciting riding.

    Just rode my first ever superbike 350km from the dealership to my home town, in rain and muddy condition. When the rear started to slide, my heart-rate definitely went up.

    There's a strong connection between my heart bpm and the distance from the ground to the front wheel

    in todays GP FP3 they compared Mavericks Heart Rate (110-120~) with Jack Millers(150-175~) in the same session. It also seems to be a rather individual thing...

    • @ChaosCauses
      @ChaosCauses  4 года назад +3

      I saw that! Can't believe they only showed that after I made this video lol. But was awesome to see another riders HR. Miller's is more what I expected it to be.

    I watched the motogp fp2 in valencia and Jack Miller's bpm when he lose traction, miss a branking point goes up to 170+ so there are a lot difference between bikers. Great video as always!

    i think taking into account that hes racing in a competitive environment and trying to catch other people and pushing himself to his limits and youre going for a ride around town would impact the stats a lot

    Remember bpm will increase in various scenarios. One it's to provide oxygen to your muscles or for instance adrenaline in a dangerous scenario. It is physically demanding riding a super sport bike of course, but a high performance trained pilot can handle the demanding riding of a motogp bike.
    I often use my Garmin forerunner 235 when riding my r6 and the only time when my heart rate went up was when a stupid dog crossed in front of me and I had to slam on the brakes.

    Great video!!! 100-110 heart rate is awsome wile having fun and the bike makes the most work! 1h goes by like nothing. Sitting in my sofa I have like 40-55 in hart rate. Mc is an awsome workout/fat burner. When I was commuting on mc I first had to roll out my bike from gravel it was hard then I was driving very "inspiring" this on a panigale v4. Before breakfast. It burned fat really much. And going home it was also hot weather or really cold going to work. When it was lunch I was really hungry. I knew it was a workout.

    I saw one video of racing mc in group fighting of positions then they had hart rates around 170bpm. Adrenaline 😎 when I was competing in cycling in group with like 50+ bikes it wasn't so hard fysicly in the middle of the group but my hart rate bumped up to 170+. Adrenaline 😎

      220bpm - your age= your max heart rate. And then there are websites that will calculate your zones based on your max HR.
