Thanks, the third step did the trick. TV was set up to sound bar as the remote settings. When I did away with soundbar, I had to change remote settings back to TV. Thanks, your video helped where all others I watched did not.

Thank you so much for this video !!!! When I got my new Amazon fire stick and set everything up it worked great for months. Then all of a sudden the TV controls stopped working. I tired everything !!! But since the actual Fire remote controls were working it wasn’t helping me with the tv control problem. I even went to the equipment control settings to try to figure it out. But I didn’t think to use the “Change TV” option. 🤷🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ Now my volume and power buttons on my Amazon remote work again !!! I have a zenith tv and it recognized it as an LG. Thanks SOOOO much, FOR ANYONE WHO WANTS TO KNOW HOW? for anyone who wants to KNOW what is ACTUALLY happening, You normally have to do this when you first set up, or when you set up the fire stick on a different TV. But what happens is that your fire stick is normally used to the other TV, or hasn’t been used yet and needs to be set to that TV, so this is a method of adjusting your fire stick to work with the TV you’re using.
Your are a Genius. I sat down on my remote by mistake. It was under the sheet and ever since my volume change and I struggled to get it back to where it was until I watched your Video. Thank you so very much 🙏 it Works

Thank you for your tutorial! I received a brand new Fire Stick a few days ago, and though the stick has been working, I have been unable, after pairing, to control the tv and the volume. I replaced the batteries, even though they were new (they came with the Stick, so who knows?), still no dice. Then, as you suggested, went to Settings>Equipment>Tv>Change tv, it detected the right tv, and that solved the problem! Thank you very much!
