- Helanthium 'Vesuvius' is a cultured species based on Helanthium angustifolia from Oriental Aquarium Plants. It is now sold in 1-2-Grow tissue culture cups.
The narrow and twisted green leaves makes it an unusual addition to the Helanthium family. The rosette species grows vigorously with many medium length and narrow leaves (10-20 cm tall), and is highly decorative as a solitary plant (rosette 10-15 cm wide). 'Vesuvius' spreads readily with runners. An easy and undemanding plant that requires medium to high light conditions.

Just got my Tropica Helanthium Vesuvius in tissue culture and didn't know what to do with the runners. Thanks for the video - very helpful.
Thank you!
I have a couple of these plants. Before I cut the runners, can you plant the runners? They look like they have their own root system.
beautiful
Can you cut back the HV like you do with cryptocoryne species? I would like to replant them in a new aquarium but the leaves are full with algea.
Hi Valentin, yes you can.
what kind of substrate you using for your aquarium?
We mostly use Tropcia Plant Growth Substrate under a neutral grave which was the case in this video. tropica.com/en/plant-care/substrate/.
I don't get what happen it went from cute curly fries to stick how to keep curly frie look
Hi, we'd recommend trying this first: foodnetwork.co.uk/search/?q=curly-fries-&.com& if this doesn't work you might consider checking the water parameters and the light levels; plants tend to head towards the surface/source of light when they don't get enough at the bottom. tropica.com/en/plants/plantdetails/Helanthiumbolivianum'Vesuvius'(067CTC)/19681
@@TropicaAquariumPlants that still doesn't explain how to keep.it bushy and not change completely
Best guess would be that the plant needs more light, that being said it's always hard to assess the situation without knowing the water parameters. How's the plant performing at the moment? do you still have it in the tank?
@@TropicaAquariumPlants no I didn't buy it cause I wanted the curly fries look
Was this grown emerged? Looks a lot different then mines
Yes it was grown emerged liker most aquarium plants, read here: tropica.com/en/articles/about-emerse-production/
