    • @brianvoong2591
      @brianvoong2591 3 года назад +114

      Just throwing this out there. When speaking Chinese you usually adjust your dialect with the people you are speaking to. For Minnie to understand easier, yuqi speaks in more standard sentences like what you’d find in books for Chinese learners.
      When speaking with shuhua, yuqi uses regional Beijing terms like 没味儿 instead of maybe 没有味道. This is because it is how folks in Beijing normally speak and all Chinese people understand this, including south China, Taiwan, anywhere else that speaks Chinese.
      Finally you can tell yuqi has an amazing grasp on languages as she speaks English as well. I would not be surprised if she could imitate Taiwanese style of speaking mandarin after having been with shuhua for so long.
      Can anyone tell me how good her Korean is compared to native speakers? It sounds great to me but I’m just a beginner learner at the moment.

    I see a lot of comments about Minnie speaking Chinese so well so I thought I'd give some general facts about language learning and psychology. (No one will be interested in this, but it's really cool stuff to know).
    When you're young the parts of you brain responsible for speech and language, brocke (BRO-kah) and wernicke (wer-neh-KEE), are still in the developing stages and will continue to do so until you're in the late high school, early college stages of life (17-21 ish). If you're going to learn a new language, it's best to do so while you're a child because it allows the brocke and wernicke to kind of... Expand in the amount of information that it holds (at least that's my understanding).
    For example, those who learn their native language alongside another language (ex: Thai as native and English later on) as children will likely have easier time picking up, say Korean and then Chinese later. There's a video several years old of a four year old girl fluently speaking 6-7 languages, very cute and interesting.
    On the other hand, for monolingual people (my fellow Americans for example) it might be harder, though not impossible, to pick up another language in life because we've never been required to know more than English. Note that many US schools don't require you to learn a second language until high school when your brocke and wernicke are mostly developed making it a little harder to retain that information.

  • @justmyedits6596

    Chinese mandarin is easy for Thais because Chinese culture is already deeply connected with our culture and we have a lot of loan words from Chinese so it will take less than a year for a Thai speaker to learn and be fluent in Chinese lol. We also have about 5 tones as well, so a big advantage in perfecting Chinese's 4 tones.

    this is probably my favourite video EVER, seriously
    i remember watching it for the first time, my whole face was in pain bc i was smiling and laughing too much😂 now i rewatch it from time to time and it keeps getting better and funnier✋
    i'm not korean or chinese but i still can hear good and bad pronunciation/accent and i think minnie is just a genius at this point... thai, korean, english, chinese and maybe japanese im not sure...
    and it's always thai members so good at learning and speaking different languages. i'm pretty sure that it's bc thai is one of the hardest languages, there are so many sounds in it, also intonations so it's easier to learn similar or less difficult languges. like i'm russian myself (you probably know how hard russian language is lol) and it's easier for me than (for example) an english speaking person to learn korean bc in russian we have almost all of korean sounds and letters, like ㅆ, ㅊ, ㅈ etc which english lang doesn't have. and english is just so easy to learn to the level where native speakers can understand you and have a little convo w you
    wait what i was talking about😂 well, all i wanted to say is 1.minnie is so talented 2.this video is sooo funny they both have such good sense of humour 3.it's so cute how yuqi is teaching minnie chinese
    i love these girls so much, but since when soojin left i couldn't make myself watch their group stuff without her, i miss ot6
