like i said in the video hyperpop is influenced by a lot of different genres and these songs are inspired by those. many of them aren't "true" hyperpop, but they have a similar sound to popular songs and artists in the space. if you like these, you would definitely like the genres i talk about in the intro 🙏🙏 and if you disagree w the video, pls feel free to leave feedback
@@revechae I'd say change part 2, gam3 bo1 and the supernatural hyperpop remix r the closest to what a lot of people think hyperpop is ! ppl also often call 24hrs the only hyperpop song in kpop since sophie herself produced it. all of them are related in some way and honestly the genre gets so diverse that depending on what u listen to any of these could sound similar
@@iyaymepg japan? like the whole country is a group? they just released hyperpop? the genre or is the song called hyperpop? /j underground by f5ve is definitely more hyperpop adjacent then most of these songs!
Yes I am so happy when Billlie’s Flipp!ng a coin was mentioned. Also, Billlie’s A Soul Savior~I don’t need a Superman. I hope Billlie does more Hyper-pop inspired songs in the future.
The reason 24HRS is hyperpop/PC music adjacent is because it's actually a SOPHIE production! I feel like you can really hear her signature sound design in the chorus synths (they feel very Product era SOPHIE to me). The demo was called sweet and sour, I think it's on youtube!
i love use of hyperpop in kpop i just wish more groups used it as a sound for their promotional tracks/title tracks instead of random one off bside that goes forgotten most of the time
24hrs itzy is the only actual hyperpop song ive heard in kpop tbh. theres a lot of “noisy” kpop songs but 24hrs has so many elements that make it actual hyperpop as opposed to just noise. also it was produced by the queen SOPHIE
Savage brought so much to the kpop scene The instrumental still has me on a chokehold And $$$ being on Gidle's debut album was so amazing with that Soyeon rap
besides the video clearly mentioning that some of these are not "true" hyperpop, Glitch genres and deconstructed club are beyond inspirations and clear winks to hyperpop as the three genres use very strong qualities that can be heard in each of them, there is a big zone where these three get together, not every song needs to be merely and only hyperpop to be considered hyperpop, just like one song can have many or infused genres at the same time
TripleS has a couple of hyperpop adjacent bsides. Overall I think this is the list of songs that if I introduced someone to kpop, this is last on the list. Locals arent ready for this perfection
omfg this video was so weirdly validating, i got into kpop because i was a huge pc music fan and i could hear these sorts of similarities!! i really want kpop artists to keep trying deconstructed club. great video!!
one major difference between popular hyperpop and kpop is the vocal treatment - hyperpop experiments a lot more with vocal pitching, chopping etc (like in supernatural in this video) whereas nearly all of the songs here have fairly standard vocal mixing. they are also generally just pretty tame relative to hyperpop so 😭😭😭😭
ALICE T_T i love that song sOOOO much. ALSO i recommend Ain't Nobody by VVUP, not sure what to call the genre but def hyperpoppy, but on the brighter and lighter side!!! i was really surprised how good it is
have listened to hyperpop for years and tried to make it clear that these are not Hyperpop Songs™ but a similar sound 🙏 sorry if that isn't clear but I know what I listen to 😭

i do want to see actual hyperpop in kpop tho, like aespa would absolutely devour if they tried

Japan’s latest release is hyperpop and amazing, Underground by F5VE

ITZY FOR TWENTY FOUR HOURS
I wish itzy would explore hyper pop inspired sounds more. The members suit abrasive bratty songs like icy and boom boxx
the fact that 24 hours is produced BY SOPHIE HERSELF
@@ihatesponsorshipsYes, I love that our queens have collaborated on at least one song 😢 rip we will love you forever SOPHIE❤
SOPHIE YOU WILL ALWAYS BE FAMOUS
aespa and nct not afraid to dip their toes into a little hyperpop
The fact Sophie literally did 24hrs for Itzy 💔 miss her
actually jyp just bought the demo and changed the lyrics, the song already existed with the name sweet n sour
some loona intros and kwon eunbi intros are hyperpop adjacent too!
omg yes and the glitch dance break too
loving the “hi” at the beginning of every video
that clangy metal drum is so addictive
Ok so this is the official name of what I call "kitchen utensils" music. Got it.
i love use of hyperpop in kpop i just wish more groups used it as a sound for their promotional tracks/title tracks instead of random one off bside that goes forgotten most of the time
hyperpop suits itzy so well, i wish they did more songs like that
im so glad aespa went back to their hyperpop sound with hot mess
there are very few bad bitches who can handle chain by nct 127
Finally. A word for songs people mistake for noise music 😭
noise music and hyperpop are diferent things

la la la by bling bling is perfect for this
first song I thought of!
I LOVE LA LA LA SO MUCH
gam3 bo1 is as hyperpop as kpop has ever been, I would definitely love to hear more tracks like this
I was craving something strong, but not quite noise music exactly because it's way too wide of a concept. This is exactly what I needed.
