Now I get to understand how they can be displayed differently, the diamond chart speaks to me much more clearly and almost instantly. Thank you for enlightening us with they different chart types, their origins and how they support different areas of reading. All retrograde?? , it would generally mean that you’re searching for a direction which takes you in quite a few different directions , and it takes you a longer time to find true path in life

You cannot say Western style is not useful to read karmas, as Saturn is precisely in Libra in both charts. You can say the Vedic style is easier visually, which I agree upon, but not that the Western style chart does not represent the placements and karmas. Actually, the easiest chart is the Guru chakra, as well as South Indian is the best tradition. Why? Because for instance they knew education (from elementary to PhD) is seen only by the fourth house and not the fifth. Raman welcomed that intuition and reaffirmed it. Not that I love Raman, but he had some valid points.
Can you inform me about the similarities in [ A B C D ] and [ अ ब स द ]. Who Copied Whom? If this chart has originated from Arabic culture then why didn't they [ Arabic Culture ] continue that and why do you follow Vedic Astrology? Whose Ancient knowledge is more humane, down to earth, and much more tuned in Astrology's basic essence.
There is one problem with Vedic Astrology, which is that the spring season does not begin with Aries, but rather it can begin with any sign. In my opinion, this is a mistake. I apply the teachings of Vedic Astrology to the Western chart.

So what's the significance of the directions in the surya chart?
Directions come from ascendant. You have to put that in. But Aries on top in the chart, is EXALTATION of Sun! Hence Surya Chakra.
