Do you know if anyone makes a compact 180-degree USB-C multiport that would snap onto the bottom edge of the phone - without a cable - to allow connected SSD/CF storage to piggyback, plus provide a BT microphone input? Trying to avoid messy cables if I were to buy this M6.

Blown away by the effort you've put in this video. Thank you, sir. I'm grabbing this gimbal tomorrow after extensive research. I'll be rewatching your video again to set it up, very concise and thorough walk-through.
Based on my research (not personal experience), when it comes to cons: 1. it's not the smallest (some competitors can be stuffed in a pocket, not this one... but the small ones can't carry this much weight); 2. You need to rebalance it if you change from landscape to portrait (some competitors adjust automatically but they can't work with this much weight).
What sold me on this one (not a pro; my first gimbal) is the face tracking that works without their proprietary app (competitors work with the app only). It means I can use say teleprompter app to record or Zoom to just stream or whatever and it will still follow me around. I haven't found this functionality in others and for my particular use case it's a big win and critically important feature.
BTW, just wanted to add... you mentioned you haven't seen this functionality even in camera gimbals. FYI, Hohem has got model MT2 that is significantly more expensive (big brother?), has got this feature and works with cameras as well. I personally somehow can never take my camera with me (too bulky) but for someone 'more serious' that might be another option to consider. Big brother as far as I know can carry way more weight, fits for cameras and phones. Just my few cents.

Great review, got mine arriving tomorrow and this just cemented that I made the right decision (I'm sending back the Smart X as the movement was just too limited for me, nicely made gimbal though).
I'm thinking that I can use that flexi cable to attach an SSD so that I can record LOG footage straight to that.... hopefully I can rig something up that works.

How do you hook up the wireless mic ( Like the Rode receiver ) to feed the audio-in, if the lightning port is being used for charging the phone ?
If the gimbal is 500 gms in weight ,( 1 lb ) + phone weight ( 1/2 lb ) doesn’t it feel heavy , if you are vlogging , holding your arm out for 15 or 20 minutes ?
Is the light rechargeable ?

What’s up brother, hope all is well. I have a few problems that I’m hoping you can help me with. I just purchased the Hohem M6 and there’s a few things that I’m either not doing right or that’s just the way this product is.
1. After recording in selfie mold, the video plays backwards. For instance, it’s a mirror image instead of the actual image that you’re supposed to see. Is there a feature in the settings to change this?
2. When shooting with the AI, if I hold the camera close to my face, it’s always cutting off the top of my head. Is that just the way it is, or can I change this in settings as well?
3. Also, when using the AI function, if I move too fast, it loses me and I have to reposition in front of the camera so that it can reengage. Why would it do that if this device can be used while shooting sporting events?
2. Can this be used with just the regular iPhone camera, as opposed to the Hohem App?
Sorry for the bombardment, but I really like this thing and I would hate to send it back
What setting would you recommend for doing real estate tours
Hello, the only thing not covered is IRL Livestreaming through RUclips. Of course, you can't use the Hohem App. I have to say I have had very disappointing results trying to livestream through RUclips. It is literally impossible to find a gimbal to stream via RUclips on an iphone 13pro max. Not sure if you've tested this elsewhere? Ps. this is a beautifully explained video, so I will definitely be following you for more great reviews!

Man, I ordered one of these a few days ago and am excited about it now! Hopefully it works well for my shaky iPhone so I can stop using my 360 cam for EVERYTHING. 360 footage is just a nightmare to edit properly! It would be great to just use my iPhone instead of GoPro, insta360 x3, canon t8i, etc. I just wish this had an extension like the DJI om6 to get that extra height.
It has the 1/4 20 on the bottom of the handle if you remove the tripod stand grab yourself a boom arm and enjoy your extended view👍

Probably mostly user error or that I’m an idiot. Lol. I really feel like I should have just started with my iPhone SE. can’t wait for new iPhone 15 pro but should only be a few more months… hoping for massive camera improvement, but knowing iPhone, it will be about a 2% difference other than storage

Love your channel and Love my M6 gimbal but when using Iphone 13 with the hohem joy app, when downloading videos after shooting clips the videos are not in order of how i shot it which its very frustrating as its like a jigsaw puzzle to get the videos back in the right order for edit is there anyway to fix this..
I'm on my second m6 in a week span with the same issue!! They have an issue with the lock button, it will not stay in the unlocked position. On it rotates a full 360 it automatically locks back. Any suggestions?
2 complaints with it is there is no extension rod built in like most and you can't really use a mic like the rode go2 shotgun mic. Your wire twists around the gimbal when you rotate. I'm looking for a wireless shotgun mic. Any recommendations?

I previously bought another brand gimbal, and cannot use it, because I can't use the iPhone holder with it, because my iPhone is in a heavy duty, waterproof case. I used it with a iPhone 13 Pro Max with a case but I’m not for sure without knowing the entire weight of your set up? Just check the payload of the gimbal 👍

Hello Brandon, thank you for your detailed test report. What I notice with my M6 gimbal is that I can hear the motor noise from the gimbal on the shots. Is this normal? With your recordings I have at least not noticed it. Did you use an external microphone?

I just purchased the kit directly from hohem and they did provide the lightning cable for Apple phones.
Hi ! I've just bought mine (from Amazon), and there is no lightning cable (even written in the manual that lightning is not included...). When you're saying "they did provide", was it included in the original box or have you contacted them, to get one ?
I bought directly from hohem website. It is not included in original box. They threw it in the shipping box.

Great review and thanks. Question: If I have set the gimbal to operate properly by pressing the trigger 4 times quickly to place the motor behind, why could I just not leave it there and film with all the lenses from that position?

My device accidentally rotated my phone upside down, and I don't see a way to recover it back! Any suggestions?
The big quwstion is what framerates and resolutions does the hohem app support? For example with an s23 ultra the dji osmo 6 is only 30 frames max at 1080 and 4k resolution which is unacceptable
I own a S23 and I did saw a review (ruclips.net/video/iGcv50n5B6k/видео.html) for some reason the apps are like downgraded for android phones. Like in the review, the iPhone 14 pro had options for 24, 30 and 60 fps and the video quality to 4K but for the S23 it only allows 24 and 30 fps and no 4K if i rmb correctly. Also, the slow mo is not given in the Hohem Joy App for S23 while the iPhone 14 has that option. Not too sure if the app will be updated to suit android phones.
The other question i want to know is if its possible to do all the gimbal tricks like inception without having to use the gimbal app since it limits my video quality.
I have this gimbal and love it. I also have the rode mic and I'm using both with my Samsung S23 ultra. That means I have to leave space to be able to get to the USB C port in the bottom of the phone. Any suggestions on a 90 degree USB C to 3.5 to use with the mic? I got one off Amazon but it didn't work.
unfortunately you have to have an adapter for the s23 ultra with i dax chip, i had the same problem with my s22
