They hate it JUST because it's a remake. This is one of the few times the remake is better than the original, but that's probably because it is based on a book so they had the opportunity for improvement.

I don't know if anyone mentioned this yet, but Wonka's house "disappearing" is a sorta metaphor of him thinking he can never go back, that that home no longer exists. And later when he revisited his father's house, all the other houses are not there, only his father's, emphasizing Wonka's thoughts at that moment are only focussed on that one place.
I love Johnny Depp’s darker version of Willy Wonka and giving him a back story! There are times where he almost seemed giddy in seeing the kids punished! I love this movie because I feel like it stays truer to the book❤️ thanks for reacting to it!
The scene of Grandpa George going a rant (where Charlie's ears were covered) always reminded me of my late grandmother. She was the sweetest woman you would ever meet but also never held back on saying what she thought, especially if it was toward someone like Mike Teevee.
Well, the floating drinks bit wasn't actually in the book. That's the whole point, Charlie does what wonka tells him to and doesn't break rules. Also I might add roald dahl did not like the original movie, mainly because he said wonka was too nice but still
Yeah it wasn’t faithful to the story and his estate has since said they believe this film (with Johnny Depp) is more accurate to the tone of the story and that the additions (to Willy’s character) perfectly understood the soul of the character and the story
The Fizzy Lifting Drinks are in the books, but Charlie doesn't try them. They just talk about them and how they're too strong right now and about how he shouldn't have tried it on an Oompa-Loompa outside and then move on.
I loved Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka. He makes me laugh a lot This movie is more based on the book except the ending is different . The first movie deviated from the book with Goose and eggs and the whole fizzy drink thing.
You mentioned being impressed by the contrast in Johnny Depp's voice, you should check out Edward Scissorhands. He uses a very similar "high pitched voice" for it.
So glad that they cut the fizzy lifting drink scene. You're right, it kind of defeated the purpose of Charlie being the most well-behaved. I know the idea was that he was just a kid like the rest, but Grandpa Joe kind of encouraged it. I feel like it serviced the story better to not have that.
I guess it was so Charlie could do the right thing and give back the gobstopper and not sell Wonka out as the final test. Though the ways the others got busted matched them and the fizzy drinks didn't match Charlie, idk maybe he was too nice to tell his grandpa no.
@@rebajoe the golden eggs and geese in the first one didn't match veruca at all the only connection was they were gold however the squirrels in this one do perfectly match veruca cause they're related to nuts which is why her family is rich and why she's a spoiled brat
well that and it was also not in the book. The book the purposes were served better. Veruca got just desserts from the fact her father became wealthy from the nut business which in turn was used to spoil her, so her losing to the squirrels in the nut room was everything going full circle. Charlie was a representation of the rare selfless kid who does good for the sake of doing good, he was a representation of purity against each kid representing one of the deadly sins. Augustus being gluttony, Violet pride, Veruca greed, and Mike wrath. The fizzy lifting drinks completely destroys that image, and was only ever mentioned in the book by Wonka as they passed by the room. The golden geese also made no sense at all in terms of story, at least the squirrels parallel how Veruca became spoiled and how it became her downfall
Johnny Depp is SO expressive. I really loved his version of Willy Wonka. I also adore Charlie. This movie made me tear up so many times. The fact that you keep forgetting that you already knew the plot makes me laugh each time 🤣🤣
From here on out I’ll be watching every Johnny Depp movie he’s ever made and will spend money to take my family to all future movies. I’ll also make sure that no one I know ever spends dime on any movie unfortunate enough to put Amber Turd in the cast. Hopefully everyone does that. Despite what those idiotic movie studios think, the fans do and will make a huge difference.
So happy to see someone that enjoyed the movie as I did grow up watching this movie a lot. My favorite parts were mainly the soundtrack as there are some bangers that definitely compete with the original movie. I enjoyed them so much that I am currently working on a sort of rock-n-roll infused song from the beginning theme of this movie. It's quite an extensive project of mine and with college, it doesn't help things much but soon enough it will be finished. Fantastic reaction as always Cody
Johnny Depp really did phenomenal in this, the original is great, but my unpopular opinion is that this version is better than the original. I know I might get shit from the fans of the original so I have to clarify that I have seen both movies numerous times. I love the vibe this one has, I think Depp brings a very interesting interpretation to the character. I love Helena ( even though she took a bit of a back seat role in this movie I still enjoyed seeing her). I think Tim Burton really made this story special and I love his style of story telling, he just breathes new life into things.
Not sure if somebody else in this comment section has already said this or not, but in case you didn't know, this movie is not a remake of the old Willy Wonka movie, it's actually based on a novel written by Roald Dahl. In fact both movies are just different adaptations of the same book, however this movie is actually more accurate/faithful to the original source material, and much closer to Dahl's vision.
I love the theory that he knew how each child would fail and definitely had some things rehearsed. The big clue is how Charlie actually ended up with the last ticket, he magically found a $10 bill in the snow, the candy man handing Charlie THAT last bar, and ultimately encouraging Charlie to not sell it and run home. I bet wonka was absolutely in complete control the entire time of all the moving pieces till Charlie’s family came into the picture. He was thrown off for once as he’d leave his behind initially.
Love this one so much more than the original: Some facts I wanted to share on this film: 1, The chocolate room was 90% practically with a faux chocolate river, 2, Deep Roy who was the tiny man with the racing snail in The Neverending Story and Napoleon Bonesapart in Corpse Bride played all of the Oompa Loompas and I don’t mean they shot him once and copied with a computer no no no no! He did it all and did dance and singing practice for everything and the design is actually accurate unlike the green hair and orange faces from the 70’s film ans like I said before all of the Oompa Loompa songs come from the book and actually change to different eras with a 50’s mambo, 60’s disco, 70’s hippy song, and an 80’s rock ballad, 3, the squirrels were real squirrels and were trained from birth to do that scene, 4, the design of the Bucket’s home was inspired by a shack Roald Dahl would use to work on books, 5, not really a fact, but the updates are actually good like giving a back story to wonka which was something new and not anything before which Dahl’s family approved of since he died in 1990 so they oversaw all adaptations of his work, -making Mike Teevee obsessed with video games and violent media is clever and the character that has the biggest update is Violet who actually has a character unlike in the previous film and even the book by making her this competition obsessed kid and an overbearing mother to boot, -actually giving a reason for Wonka going to Oompaloompa land as “looking for new exotic flavors for candy”, -another good update is with the tv room by having Wonka want to teleport chocolate through television for people to grab instead of just wanting to teleport because, 6, I only learned this recently, but the kid who plays Mike is the same boy who voiced the main character in Meet the Robinsons, 7, people complain saying Charlie is out of character and he isn’t like real kids, but that’s not true there is kids who think like him and care for their family and others often before their own needs also I love the fact 8, when Augustus says “Don’t you want to know our names?“ and Wonka replies “Can’t see how it would make a difference” it’s a double negative he’s toying with them and throughout the tour playing dumb even though he planned everything out, 9, something else I wanted to bring up is how people complain that Deep’s version isn’t like Gene Wilder’s and that’s the point he is like how he is in the book plus the fact he not only cut himself off from the world surrounding himself with chocolate obsessed little people and has pale skin from no sun exposure, no real sense of how to talk or deal with people (reading off cue cards and jumping back when hugged) also bring in his backstory it’s no wonder he would come out less like a James Bond villain (Wilder) and more like a nut who isolated himself from society, 10, the kid who played Augustus not only did not speak English, but didn’t know how to swim, For more details and information I didn’t even get into I recommend watching these two part videos of Everything Great About Charlie and the Chocolate Factory: ruclips.net/video/PWk6oKvEOA4/видео.html (Part 1), ruclips.net/video/sZDbfiqR-kg/видео.html (Part 2), They are not by the same person who does CinemaWins, but still good,
I remember watching this back in 2005 in the movie theater and it was so good. I do prefer the original over this one just because it's classic but Johnny Depp did a phenomenal job with this movie. Tim Burton really brought his own style to this movie and I freaking loved it
This movie was so nostalgic to me when I was a kid and their is so a lot fun facts in this movie did example like making the chocolate room all practical, the squirrels were real and CGI in the nut room, Deep Roy did all of the Oompa Loompa’s by using a machine to copy him singing the songs, Jordan Fry who played Mike played in Meet The Robinsons, and the Inventing room was build with many junk which makes it cool. Wonka just acts like a child in this movie which is from his backstory. This was also my first Tim Burton movie as well which introduced me to.
Hidden hints make movies better. Like this: the name of Violet's mother is never said out loud, but it is written on the reward she points out (Scarlett). Also... the writings in the glass elevator are quite interesting, to put it delicately
Lmao not so much now considering all the nasty things that has surfaced after the trial 💀him being close friends with many pedophiles, abusers and sex offenders. That nasty man even said a convicted child rapist “wasn’t a predator” simply bc the man was spending time in his house instead of actively molesting children outside 🤢 depp is not innocent either, he is also a disgusting person. Both him and heard have been friends with sex offenders
The reason the Golden goose scene and the levitating soda scene don't exist in this movie is because they didn't exist in the original book. The squirrel seen was in the book and there was no rule breaking by Charlie and his grandfather. In fact most of the dialogue from this movie is taken directly out of the book and all of the songs. You should check out that book sometime.
Fun Fact: The actor Jordan Fry who played Mike Teavee who also played Lewis in Meet The Robinsons. Was Denver, Colorado the same town you’re living in like where Mike Teavee lives?
Actually it is a mix of both Jordan Fry and Daniel Hansen with I think Hansen providing most of Lewis’ voice. I could be wrong be I believe that is how it went
While I do prefer the older movie, I love so many aspects of this one, too. The surreal visuals, the added Wonka plot, and the variety of Oompa Loompa songs especially. I also love how they did certain updates (Mike Teevee is a violent video game kid instead of just a watching-tv-show kid, for example, and the chocolate river looks way more like chocolate). I'm happy to see how different the two versions are because they both scratch different movie itches really well.
Johnny said his portrayal was part Mr. Rogers type kids' TV personality, and part enthusiastic game show host. I like both versions, too. For accuracy with the book, though, This one is truer to the source material. Hats off to Danny Elfman for creating all the singing voices in the movie, too.
I really loved seeing this in theaters! There was a Chunky’s near my aunt (it closed down a few something years ago sadly) and we would always go there to watch a movie. One of the desserts was a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory sundae. I ordered it once. To this day, I can’t get over how big it was! All I can remember is ice cream, a small slice of cake, whipped cream, and a cookie! Heaven only knows what else was on it!
In the original movie, the boat ride scene was only known by Gene Wilder. Everyone else was completely unaware. So their reactions and screams were genuine
I actually have so much nostalgia attached to this movie. I was 3 when it came out, and I just have so many memories of watching this as a little kid 😊❤. I was introduced to the Gene Wilder version in my middle school reading class, and actually had a literal debate with my teacher about why I liked this Tim Burton version more lol. I was a kid and literally probably didn't have any actual good points to back myself up, but it's a memory I will definitely cherish and of course will always have a major soft spot for this movie ❤❤. I'm glad you enjoyed this Cody, and that you watched a huge part of my childhood with such an open mind 🥰❤
Wonka: "Even I'M edible but that is called cannibalism, my dear children, and it is in fact frowned on in most societies." Me: You'd know wouldn't you..... BENJAMIN BARKER *Gets beaten with a kettle*
*And this movie wouldn't be the only book adaptation that Freddie Highmore would star in, years later, he would play the twin protagonists Jared and Simon from The Spiderwick Chronicles, another book adaptation.*
22:13 I think he knows because he probably watched the interviews of the kids on tv when they got their tickets. 32:54 He is and maybe he was wearing them at the start because he was checking out the rooms they’d be going in and the tv room was the last one.
I really liked this reaction! I’ll sub to see more reactions from you cause I really liked your inputs. Also, for some reason I counted every pet Veruca has. She has 21 pets in total. And am I the only one that gets a bit freaked out when Violet turns into a blueberry? It was her face she looked so disturbed 😂😅
For Veruca’s case with her greed, it’ll never satisfy the heart until you’ll have nothing left. For Violet’s case with her pride, that’s gonna be taken down a peg when you’re trying to prove something.
This movie is more of just another adaptation of the book, not a remake of the old version, to my knowledge the scene where Charlie and grandpa George float isn’t in the book, which is why it’s not here. This movies much more faithful to the book, than the other one
Thanks for not apologizing for that Amber Heard quip. What she's done to Johnny is disgusting and she deserves all the shade she gets. I'm praying Johnny wins that case.
I like to think that Wonka watched the interviews with the other kids and saw how snobby and impolite they were. So he wanted to teach them a lesson and that’s why he was so surprised when he realized Charlie was the only one left because he thought all of the kids would’ve failed. But Charlie isn’t snobby and impolite and he’s very respectful which is why only he made it through.
I just heard that the first time Johny Depp crashes with the cristal elevator was an accident and the reactions of Charlie and his grandpa are genuine. The second time was intencional.
I grew up scared of this film (flashbacks to The Addams family (not a show, that one was wholesome all along)), because I've never finished it nor got any resolution. Every time I watched it I only saw those 'kids being harmed' scenes and I thought it was over for them, that they're dying like this and Wonka is a sociopath. Then people cheered up and sang... it was quite disturbing for me. But now I do think it's a lovely film XD Thanks, Cody. You've helped me push out one of my bad childhood memories and enjoy your reaction at the same time. :)
The bubble room scene was not in this movie, because this movie was not supposed to be a remake of the Wonka movie, it was an adaptation of the book, which many people don't understand. Also, Tim had the screenwriters of this movie not watch the Wonka movie until after their film was released, so they would think of the book and not that movie. So, this movie was another adaptation of Roald Dahl’s novel, and I like it better than the Wonka movie, but both films adapt the story in their own way.

See his own elevator.
Johnny depp has always been fantastic
He's a cameleon
@@a.g.demada5263 Ikr! it's remarkable how he transforms into different of these characters, it's crazy yet amazing 😊
I love Johnny!
I love that Mike is played by Jordan Fry, one of the kids that played Lewis in Meet the Robinsons (my personal favourite underrated movie!)
That "You're just a miniature Amber Heard" made me fall out of my seat dude, this was a good time to see you watch this
“Johnny Depp is amazing!” Damn right he is!
I love Johnny Depp’s darker version of Willy Wonka and giving him a back story! There are times where he almost seemed giddy in seeing the kids punished! I love this movie because I feel like it stays truer to the book❤️ thanks for reacting to it!
Besides the 'dark' intro, the flashbacks, and maybe the dolls catching on fire, I wouldn't exactly call Willy Wonka in this movie 'dark'.
@@ImPersonNation he seemed more sarcastic and not really a nice person. Flawed and not the jolly portrayal that I saw in the original Willy wonka
The scene of Grandpa George going a rant (where Charlie's ears were covered) always reminded me of my late grandmother. She was the sweetest woman you would ever meet but also never held back on saying what she thought, especially if it was toward someone like Mike Teevee.
I like how the kids survive in this one and I gotta be honest I'm kind of happy they don't do stupid filler scenes
Well, the floating drinks bit wasn't actually in the book. That's the whole point, Charlie does what wonka tells him to and doesn't break rules. Also I might add roald dahl did not like the original movie, mainly because he said wonka was too nice but still
wait he didn't like the original?!
Yeah it wasn’t faithful to the story and his estate has since said they believe this film (with Johnny Depp) is more accurate to the tone of the story and that the additions (to Willy’s character) perfectly understood the soul of the character and the story
@@buberrycrunch he despised it with a passion he hated the changes how nice Wonka was and especially the fizzy lifting drink
The Fizzy Lifting Drinks are in the books, but Charlie doesn't try them. They just talk about them and how they're too strong right now and about how he shouldn't have tried it on an Oompa-Loompa outside and then move on.
The fact that Willy wonka kept bumping into the glasses elevator was so funny 😂😂😂😂
"candy doesn't have to have a point, that's why it's candy" my guy Charlie sounding like a candy philosopher 😂
I loved Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka. He makes me laugh a lot
This movie is more based on the book except the ending is different .
The first movie deviated from the book with Goose and eggs and the whole fizzy drink thing.
You mentioned being impressed by the contrast in Johnny Depp's voice, you should check out Edward Scissorhands. He uses a very similar "high pitched voice" for it.
Victor from Corpse Bride also has a higher voice.
@Jenn Stetler yup but he sounded so sweet and genuine😭😭😭
So glad that they cut the fizzy lifting drink scene. You're right, it kind of defeated the purpose of Charlie being the most well-behaved. I know the idea was that he was just a kid like the rest, but Grandpa Joe kind of encouraged it. I feel like it serviced the story better to not have that.
Agreed. I also hated the "You get nothing! You lose!" scene. It just seemed cruel.
I guess it was so Charlie could do the right thing and give back the gobstopper and not sell Wonka out as the final test. Though the ways the others got busted matched them and the fizzy drinks didn't match Charlie, idk maybe he was too nice to tell his grandpa no.
@@rebajoe "the fizzy drinks didn't match Charlie." EXACTLY, which is why that scene doesn't work.
I'm right there with you, man, the Grandparents in this version just cracked me up. Especially Grandpa George.
"Well, it's a good thing you're going to a _chocolate_ factory, you ungrateful little ba-"
Man I love Grandpa George. More than Joe.
This version is much closer to the book, and they even added more to it.
40 squirrels were actually trained for the nut sorting room scene, which i always found quite interesting
“You found Wonka’s last golden ticket, in my shop too!”

This is my favorite out if the two, because this one is almost exactly the same as the book. Even the songs are directly from the book!
Johnny Depp is one of the greatest
Johnny Depp really did phenomenal in this, the original is great, but my unpopular opinion is that this version is better than the original. I know I might get shit from the fans of the original so I have to clarify that I have seen both movies numerous times. I love the vibe this one has, I think Depp brings a very interesting interpretation to the character. I love Helena ( even though she took a bit of a back seat role in this movie I still enjoyed seeing her). I think Tim Burton really made this story special and I love his style of story telling, he just breathes new life into things.
I loved this reaction, also side note: the dog was a Dalmatian, they’re so freaking cute.
that was a harlequin great dane, I have 3 danes including a harlequin, and that dopey face is *so* a dane
Johnny depp did amazing job on this movie
I love the theory that he knew how each child would fail and definitely had some things rehearsed. The big clue is how Charlie actually ended up with the last ticket, he magically found a $10 bill in the snow, the candy man handing Charlie THAT last bar, and ultimately encouraging Charlie to not sell it and run home. I bet wonka was absolutely in complete control the entire time of all the moving pieces till Charlie’s family came into the picture. He was thrown off for once as he’d leave his behind initially.
Love this one so much more than the original:
Some facts I wanted to share on this film:
1, The chocolate room was 90% practically with a faux chocolate river,
2, Deep Roy who was the tiny man with the racing snail in The Neverending Story and Napoleon Bonesapart in Corpse Bride played all of the Oompa Loompas and I don’t mean they shot him once and copied with a computer no no no no! He did it all and did dance and singing practice for everything and the design is actually accurate unlike the green hair and orange faces from the 70’s film ans like I said before all of the Oompa Loompa songs come from the book and actually change to different eras with a 50’s mambo, 60’s disco, 70’s hippy song, and an 80’s rock ballad,
3, the squirrels were real squirrels and were trained from birth to do that scene,
4, the design of the Bucket’s home was inspired by a shack Roald Dahl would use to work on books,
5, not really a fact, but the updates are actually good like giving a back story to wonka which was something new and not anything before which Dahl’s family approved of since he died in 1990 so they oversaw all adaptations of his work,
-making Mike Teevee obsessed with video games and violent media is clever and the character that has the biggest update is Violet who actually has a character unlike in the previous film and even the book by making her this competition obsessed kid and an overbearing mother to boot,
-actually giving a reason for Wonka going to Oompaloompa land as “looking for new exotic flavors for candy”,
-another good update is with the tv room by having Wonka want to teleport chocolate through television for people to grab instead of just wanting to teleport because,
6, I only learned this recently, but the kid who plays Mike is the same boy who voiced the main character in Meet the Robinsons,
7, people complain saying Charlie is out of character and he isn’t like real kids, but that’s not true there is kids who think like him and care for their family and others often before their own needs also I love the fact
8, when Augustus says “Don’t you want to know our names?“ and Wonka replies “Can’t see how it would make a difference” it’s a double negative he’s toying with them and throughout the tour playing dumb even though he planned everything out,
9, something else I wanted to bring up is how people complain that Deep’s version isn’t like Gene Wilder’s and that’s the point he is like how he is in the book plus the fact he not only cut himself off from the world surrounding himself with chocolate obsessed little people and has pale skin from no sun exposure, no real sense of how to talk or deal with people (reading off cue cards and jumping back when hugged) also bring in his backstory it’s no wonder he would come out less like a James Bond villain (Wilder) and more like a nut who isolated himself from society,
10, the kid who played Augustus not only did not speak English, but didn’t know how to swim,
For more details and information I didn’t even get into I recommend watching these two part videos of Everything Great About Charlie and the Chocolate Factory:
ruclips.net/video/PWk6oKvEOA4/видео.html (Part 1),
ruclips.net/video/sZDbfiqR-kg/видео.html (Part 2), They are not by the same person who does CinemaWins, but still good,
Glad to know I’m not the only one who actually really enjoys this version
I remember watching this back in 2005 in the movie theater and it was so good. I do prefer the original over this one just because it's classic but Johnny Depp did a phenomenal job with this movie. Tim Burton really brought his own style to this movie and I freaking loved it
You only liked the original because of Gene Wilder, didn't you? ;)
@@ImPersonNation well not just that but it had a bit more nostalgia for me. Still have the VHS tapes of it
Watching the behind the scenes for this movie is really fun too! Especially the squirrels scene, they trained actual squirrels for it
This movie was so nostalgic to me when I was a kid and their is so a lot fun facts in this movie did example like making the chocolate room all practical, the squirrels were real and CGI in the nut room, Deep Roy did all of the Oompa Loompa’s by using a machine to copy him singing the songs, Jordan Fry who played Mike played in Meet The Robinsons, and the Inventing room was build with many junk which makes it cool. Wonka just acts like a child in this movie which is from his backstory. This was also my first Tim Burton movie as well which introduced me to.
I can't stop thinking about the reflection on the glasses. It litterly shows the "behind the scenes"😂
Hidden hints make movies better. Like this: the name of Violet's mother is never said out loud, but it is written on the reward she points out (Scarlett). Also... the writings in the glass elevator are quite interesting, to put it delicately
I love Depp this is one of my favorite film of his. I love how this movie is closer to the book. Team Depp all the way.
Charlie and the chocolate factory + Cody = a good time.
The fact that this kid went on to become Norman freakin Bates is astounding.
I'm so glad you are watchin Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I do like it alot and glad you like it and I hope Johnny wins against Amber's butt lol
I'm glad you're defending johnny depp.
I'm on team johnny depp but not amber heard, because she deserve to be guilty, everybody knows she lied.
Yea hes the best
Lmao not so much now considering all the nasty things that has surfaced after the trial 💀him being close friends with many pedophiles, abusers and sex offenders. That nasty man even said a convicted child rapist “wasn’t a predator” simply bc the man was spending time in his house instead of actively molesting children outside 🤢 depp is not innocent either, he is also a disgusting person. Both him and heard have been friends with sex offenders
I don’t care what anyone says. I find this movie pure gold! 👍🏻👏🏻
@@MasonJWMyers it probably was be because of voice change because of puberty.
I'm happy to see how different the two versions are because they both scratch different movie itches really well.
the song styles are one thing, but check out the original books. this version's songs are ripped straight from the book.
So true. I’d much rather see a real chocolate river than that monstrosity from the original.
Johnny said his portrayal was part Mr. Rogers type kids' TV personality, and part enthusiastic game show host. I like both versions, too. For accuracy with the book, though, This one is truer to the source material. Hats off to Danny Elfman for creating all the singing voices in the movie, too.
I'm with you team Johnny also this is one of my favorite movies ever
I really loved seeing this in theaters!
There was a Chunky’s near my aunt (it closed down a few something years ago sadly) and we would always go there to watch a movie. One of the desserts was a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory sundae. I ordered it once. To this day, I can’t get over how big it was! All I can remember is ice cream, a small slice of cake, whipped cream, and a cookie! Heaven only knows what else was on it!
Man that sounds like it was a good sundae
Johnny is so great/funny in this. “Slide me some skin, soul brother”
12:20 he was so excited he left the change from the 10$ aswell
In the original movie, the boat ride scene was only known by Gene Wilder. Everyone else was completely unaware. So their reactions and screams were genuine
This is my favorite adaptation, especially since it's the closest to the book. Depp being in the movie is a lovely bonus.
I had a huge crush on him as Willy Wonka, idk what it is, but i just love his top hat and his suit, he looked so dashing! 😊
@@Scary_Mask_Tomboy Same!
@@meganlodon It suits his gentleman personality too :)
@@Scary_Mask_Tomboy Yep!
@@meganlodon Also, yay for Johnny for winning the case! :D
"You're just a miniature Amber Heard aren't you?"🤣🤣🤣
LOL 🤣 That part sure was funny
Wonka: "Even I'M edible but that is called cannibalism, my dear children, and it is in fact frowned on in most societies."
Me: You'd know wouldn't you..... BENJAMIN BARKER
*Gets beaten with a kettle*
Rule of thumb, if the old movie had a difference in comparison to this, the part in the old movie changed it from the book
12:18 he didn’t just leave the candy there he leave he’s change there too
*And this movie wouldn't be the only book adaptation that Freddie Highmore would star in, years later, he would play the twin protagonists Jared and Simon from The Spiderwick Chronicles, another book adaptation.*
I didn't know it was the adaptation of a book
James and the giant Peach too isn’t he?
@@croissantpower yes, it is
If I recall correctly, the DVD version of this movie had an instructional dance in the bonus features.
The Songs the Ooompa Loompas sing in this version are actually the original songs from the book.
Freddie Highmore looked so cute he plays The Good Doctor
This was my 1st Johnny Depp movie.
It makes me happy that some people aren't blinded by nostalgia.
Johnny Depp: National treasure
That grandpa who jumped around all excited easily could've helped the parents around the house.
I love that you got so absorbed into the world if the film that you kept forgetting that you'd seen the first one
😂😂 I was confusing myself with that I was like “why did I even say that I already know what is supposed to happen”
@@ItsTotallyCody it was awesome. The best difference between this and the original is that this one uses the songs from the book
I find it funny Willy's dad didn't recognized his son but recognized his teeth!🤣. Dentists...
All the grandparents passed away after the filming. RIP Grandpa's Joe, George, and Grandma's Georgina and Josephine.
I know I'm probably in the minority, but I honestly love all of the songs in this version of the movie. They're straight bangers lol.
I just watched this yesterday with my friends, it was such a great time! Can’t wait to see it with you now.
I just heard that the first time Johny Depp crashes with the cristal elevator was an accident and the reactions of Charlie and his grandpa are genuine. The second time was intencional.
I don’t believe that for a second.
But now I do think it's a lovely film XD
Thanks, Cody. You've helped me push out one of my bad childhood memories and enjoy your reaction at the same time. :)
Oh, great RUclips recommendations! I do not know who this guy is, but I am already in love with this format and his reactions!!!❤❤❤
