Methodone use in parts of SW Virginia is so high that I have issues finding employees that do not nod out. It pisses me off ,I have very little empathy for them.
You just said it's rampant and we're talking about one of the poorest states in the nation. Why not go somewhere else then? If you have very little empathy for them it's because your first concern is 💰. Wait until you find out that you can't take it with you but that empathy matters. 🤡🤦♀️
I see it everyday in MA and NH….had a Recovery Coach training a few weeks back….most of the class nodded off multiple times every day of training….they were really surprised when I told them none of them were ready to be Recovery Coaches… very little tapering anymore…they made the “emergency Covid protocols” permanent. So take home bottles, less oversight and when they fail a drug test they don’t restrict the take home as they are supposed to do…. Had more fatal OD’s in August than any previous month…majority of those were on take home bottles…just repeating the cycle….

If you take it once in awhile it will MESS YOU UP,
period.
As a Director of Recovery Services that is not my experience…the now permanent “emergency” Covid protocols call for increase dosage and take home bottles….the majority of Methadone patients I see act like this…

Yes, of course you are absolutely correct.
I was speaking about the people, like myself, that take their dose as prescribed.
So many patients also on benzos, so that would also affect speech.
You reminded me of group sessions that we were forced to attend once a month.
I absolutely refused after just 2 or 3 months. Patients on too high of a dose would be nodding out during group and it was too much for me.
I made a fuss and then was granted exception from groups.
A couple directors begged me over the years to please attend in order to be helpful to others.
I refused as that wasn't my job and the anxiety I felt watching then was just too much.
So yes, you're correct, when abused even on maintenence this can and does happen.

It took me TWO YEARS to get 6 take home.
One year to get to 5 and another FULL YEAR to go once a week.
That's all out the window.
People that first entered had to go once a month.
With in two months only once a month.
Crazy.
Anyway, I am on 30 MG after 120 for 6 months and then I kept a taper going for years.
I would love to STOP but I have been out of trouble for over 15 years and no cravings.
I admit that I still grieve the loss of the feeling but no way, especially these days will I go back.

She was ASKED THE QUESTION! I guarantee you that you are a shame-bound person. A person who isn't shame-bound knows that addiction is something that changes the way a person acts and thinks. People who become addicted usually were in emotional pain beforehand. Maybe you should judge them for their feelings while you're at it...🙄

My mother was addicted to methadone and an alcoholic and died I'm 2012
Why shame people like this? I hate drunk and stoned driving but I believe her when she says she's on methadone. I think methadone is a scam that doesn't address sobriety.
