Both your videos in the kitchen are my current favorites. Excellent information about thermostats. I would love to see more of these videos that teach me about individual parts. Great as always!

Interesting video. I also have a 1979 MGB roadster, same color. Off topic-you have a very interesting toaster behind you. Looks very 1950’s. I use a Camfield toaster from about 1952. Works like new. Actually was made in my hometown, Grand Haven, MI. Keep up the great work! 😊

Why not a Chevy stat? 🤷‍♂️ available everywhere.
While the stat determines initial (floor) operating temp it doesn't determine ultimate operating temp. That can be effected by condition of the radiator, water pump, radiator cap condition, any leaks and engine tune.
Stat temp should be sufficient to have the engine burn fuel efficiently.

Thanks for the comment I do not know if a Chevy thermostat will fit? If it’s the same diameter then it would getting a thermostat at the local parts store is not an issue I’m sure they cross reference over with other engines my thought with running 160 degree thermostat is that I do want it to open earlier the car has electric fans and then stop and go traffic it will run a little hotter what I was looking at what is the internal diameter of the valve I want something that’s going to flow more coolant with less restriction
