While we all are clamoring to refrain ourselves from using Chinese products anymore, we're forgetting the biggest victim of it a.k.a. HMT (Hindustan Machine Tools). Though officially the factory has been shut down, there are employees who haven't received their salary for 4 years, let alone incentives. 🙄

Last week, Apoorv & I, went to HMT to gain insights on what's actually happening behind that so-called worn-out society. We reached out to the people living there and ask them about their lifestyle. About how are they surviving? About how it has all been till now and how they think it's gonna be in the upcoming months.

It is shameful on the part of Central Govt to destroy such iconic PSU who were once jewels of the nation. Such is the haste and greed to sell the nation's assets that they never bother to make any attempt to save these companies. At least Govt should have this much shame that they should pay the rightful dues of these employees and their dependents.
Noble thought but without any research and data. Small example. In 1984 when the factory started H. M. T had 78% market share which came down to 17% in 2001. Believe half of what you see and none of what you hear.
its so sad that theres no strong minister in Uttrakhand who has made any efforts to revive this.

Very strange thing, one side our govt shouting for 'make in India', ' boycott china' and in one side they are Exploiting the existing resources, or not preserving the things which they already own. it's a humble request to everyone, please share this video as much.To raise this issue, maybe your one share can help this video to reach higher authorities.🙌

Since 2005-06 tried to 2014-15 Govt didn't consider our requirements many powerful politicians joined with then the C&MD and spoiled hmt
Mother unit hmt watch factory I&II Bengaluru & hmt watch factory IV Tumakuru, Karnataka were also faced the same and memorandum was given to GOI, to review and also to utilize the infrastructure for other products,Many Central ministers, Buerocrats & others grabbed the valuable assets as they like.The same land can be utilised for Indian Railways and for other GOI establishments but no one took it as very urgent issues
There was no Wage/ Pay revisions in hmt watches ltd for the period 1997 and 2007 and govt declared to close hmt watches ltd in 2017 and residential buildings & Factory infrastructures demolished
Appreciable to show the plight of people and idle resources. Govt. must employ productive activities in the structures and engage these people in deserving employment
Again government should start HMT as it's demand among people is more as it was the dhadkan of the Country. Modi Ji should think of it.
This should have been in full glory , hmt watches are gold standard watches at very affordable prices, no one now a days give mechanical movement, stainless steel watches under 5000, and when it got defunct it was costing around 700 rs in 2013, truly gold standard watched, i wish they remained in production, elegant and robust❤govt should at least give thier pending salaries. Otherwise the production could have been retained with good leadership as still good demand is there

Management is not given retirement benefits after retirement five years is over. Pension also not process pf office.

Similar happened yo IDPL in Rishikesh and i have closely seen that..

The flaws in the management and the "well planned" and strategically staged closure of our dear HMT. I have been associated with HMT through my father who was "forced" to take VRS by creating unfavorable conditions.

All that he covered is just a part of it neither this video will mitigate their issues. It will just potray the helpless image which he has shown in this video, in public .
