    Tip for Canada, when you see "Ch MacDonald Rd" it means "Chemin MacDonald Road". It's a common way of being bilingual without repeating the whole name twice. So you'll likely be around Quebec, e.g. Ottawa or New Brunswick which are the major bilingual areas.

    • @keith6706
      @keith6706 2 года назад +2

      Better tip: If you see something like that on a road sign and it's green, it's New Brunswick (only officially bilingual province, so all the road signs have to use that format). In Ontario you only find signs like that around Ottawa, and they're blue. Quebec doesn't have English.

    i am VERY late but the flag you saw in New Brunswick, that had blue on it but couldn't really tell what it was, most likely was an Acadian flag

    For the New Brunswick round if you see English and French signs it means that you are most likely there. You looked at a sign where it says ch and road something, ch which means chemin in French

    Quick tip on Amsterdam: Amsterdam has the borough (is that the right English term? They are called "stadsdelen" ("city parts") in Dutch) name underneath the street name on road signs. I don't know any other Dutch city that has that. Might save you a bit of time in the future. And many Dutch cities have a street named after Anne Frank - in fact there's an Anne Frankweg just around the corner from where I live.

    21:18 knew it was NB straight away, if you see a sign in canada that puts the Ch. (for chemin, french for street) before the name of the road, and the area seems otherwise anglo (i.e. not quebec), that's an instant tip off

    • @deformations
      @deformations 4 года назад +9

      Tomás Ferreira honestly I think a moderate amount of content (on youtube, not twitch) is better without a face cam. It’s almost like reading a book and you have this image of what a character looks like, then they make a movie and it’s different than what you imagined, if that makes sense? Certainly no offense to the wizard himself: he’s a good looking lad haha. RUclips and twitch are different platforms for me in that way, because twitch is more known for donations and supporting the literal person, and youtube, in a way, draws viewers in, and allows them to make that decision to make it more personal. So, I suppose, while it’s my personal opinion, that’s why I say I’m not a fan of face cams on RUclips. I typically stop watching creators who start including face cams in their content for this reason

      @@deformations after all the "real life challenges" like straight line accros Wales, which you obviously didn't watch, adding a face cam to a geoguesser vid doesn't actually change anything for his long term subscribes that didn't just stumble across a random geoguesser vid. Of course my opinion, but I subscribed because I genuinely "like" his him

    • @deformations
      @deformations 4 года назад +1

      Jonathan Bauer i did try watching them, and yes, I am one of those that stumbled upon geowizard’s geoguesser videos about 3 months ago. That’s typically the content I gravitate towards on this channel: it’s great to watch someone with so much knowledge about the world, who teaches you many things along the way. He even made a video focused on my hometown, which I absolutely loved. It was awesome seeing his reaction to things I grew up and currently live around. I agree with you that longtime subscribers and followers of his twitch are more likely to not notice much of a difference, and that’s a tough subject for any creator: do you cater to your already-existing audience, or do you create content that’s more likely to bring new viewers and subscribers in? That topic is obviously much bigger than my opinion on RUclips face cams. I wrote my comment in order to give (hopefully welcome) feedback from his audience, and support the effectiveness of the algorithm on the videos, which I think is the primary purpose of commenting. Anyway, this was fun getting to the bottom of these topics, writing out my thoughts on them for the first time. I suppose I should say thank you! :-)
