    Patera was scary strong before he got hurt.
    Patera was a great heel.
    Patera seemed so uncomfortable as a good guy in the wwf.

    From what I have gathered, none of these mid-card guys made any money in the profession while busting their chops for Vince for several years. The top 2-3 guys were raking 95% of the money and everybody else was fighting for the crumbs. Not a way to make a living with all the aggravation, travel and stress on your body taking bumps.

      They made money . Pentra was on the C shows. Where the money was not that good. He made paid when he feud with Andre, but he went prison.

      He said he was making up to 5k a week which is 20k a month and 220k a year. I can definitely see wrestling being a tough living especially for wrestlers that weren't popular or even wrestlers with a short run on top or high on the card. Plus he was battling injuries.

    You've got to admire Ken Patera. After all the crap he's gone through in and out of the ring he's still able to keep his dignity. 👍. It seems for all the wrestlers do for McMahon it seems he rarely gives anything back to those like Patera who truly deserve it.

      Just imagine if Vince actually paid all of these guys fairly. Would it hurt Vince McMahon to be a $100 millionaire instead of a billionaire? Imagine how many lives could have been saved had Vince genuinely cared about this group of ~30 wrestlers. He had the ability to pay each of them well, cover their travel expenses, and give them ample time off to heal. Instead, he basically ran them out there like horses until they dropped.

    Patera has said in other shoots that Vince sent his wife a check for $1000 dollars every week for the two years he was in prison. When Patera returned he was told it was a loan that had to be paid back. He owed Vince over a hundred grand. That's why his paychecks were so small. Vince was deducting the money.

    I worked at the McDonalds he threw the rock through the drive through window. I was in back cleaning after close and our shift manager was almost hit by the rock. it broke the window, smashed the cash register, bent the stainless steel table and crack the floor tile. obviously we called the cops and he was tracked down the the Holiday Inn with Mr Saito. the permanently injured a couple cops in their tirade

    You know, it’s a funny thing. You watch these former wrestlers waxing nostalgic about the old days, and they seldom have a harsh word about each other. Generally, they seem to regard each other with great respect.
    Except for McMahon Jr.
    For him they reserve a special portion of venom. They remember him for setting the Asshole bar pretty high. And they’re pretty consistent with that. Wonder why that’s the case.

      Because as the most successful and richest promoter of all time, Vince is an easy target. Simple as that. A lot of these guys blame Vince for everything and for their own shortcomings instead of admitting that they messed up, it's too easier to blame the "evil" rich promoter for everything instead of looking themselves in the mirror.

    I love the people whining "he's jobbing to a loser like Bad News Brown!" Meanwhile Bad News is feuding with Hulk Hogan and WWF World Champion Randy Savage simultaneously while being put over at Wrestlemania IV and eventually being moved into a Wrestlemania feud Roddy Piper and Jake Roberts. The guy was a bonafide player in the WWF, Patera should have been jobbing to him.

      Bad News Brown was another classic example of a guy who was lied to by Vince, he was told he was gonna get a world title run, once he realised that wasn't happening he was out of there. The Roddy piper storyline where they refused to job to each other didn't help either.
      Bruce Pritchard classically spun it by saying when Vince says that he means "maybe you will be champion"

      @@user-sb2tb9oe7d Yep. There was a rumor that Savage was going to win the I-C title at the Main Event, Dibiase would win the World title at WMIV. Savage was going to drop the I-C title to Bad News during the summer and at Summerslam Savage would win the belt from Dibiase while Bad News defended the I-C title, likely against Warrior after feuding with Bret over it during the summer. That would have been interesting!

    If I am not mistaken, Patera ripped his elbow up on a TV taping. He did it body slamming a jobber and immediately grabbed his arm. He yelled, "Stay down!" as he pinned the guy with one hand before exiting.

      I think the lesson for anyone who wants to/works for the WWF/WWE, is unless your the next Hogan/SCSA/Cena/Rock, you better save every penny you can, because your career will be relatively short and the release can happen anytime. And a lot of those guys back then lived fast and the money went even faster.
