The Valkyrie and Tiandi fights are perfect examples of why I say they’ve gone to far with offense. I dont know why no one seems to really care that much. Everyone use to say they want the game to be more read based, ok, but how many reads? You made reads, multiple times but were unable to punish because offense is king, that shits dumb. As far as im concerned if I miss a bash that guarantees me damage and or access to my chains I should be punished for it. Bashes have become way to safe in this game smh
It's all over the place, really. If you need multiple reads to punish the safe offense, they should require multiple attempts at that safe offense to do meaningful damage. Or maybe just a lot of stamina so you can't maintain pressure in a loop with your best mixup. That's all it should be but it isn't with some of these reworks. It's frustrating too because small tweaks to bring them in line with simple numbers would make everyone happier.

It's one thing in my opinion any way if we're talking about a bash that confirms a light and can't be feinted. Sure that should be a dude attack punish at best or a dodge bash that guarantees a light. But when we get into bashes that are feintable which means they can net heavy damage or they confirm more then light attack damage. Those should 100% be punishable by GB, every time. Not in early dodge, just in dodge. Characters are buffed way to slow in this game which leads to alot of heroes being left behind. Which is partly cause the game doesn't have standards on alot of the mechanics in the game. As in what punishable, when it's punishable, what can the character do after if anything. They need to things into line and then go from there, but these devs honestly just seem to throw anything at the wall. Like how did they go from Pirate, to Mejay to Afreera? Mejay seems like he was made by a completely different dev team smh
The reworks aren't the worst thing, it's the safety of the mixups. It's already one thing to be favourable mixups, but also safe even when you flub them, that's what makes them ridiculous. Safe moves should be low damage, that's all there should be to it but it isn't the case.

The best example is the recent lawbringer rework. He definitely had some issues that needed to be fixed but he had a set play style and certain feel that kept people playing him. Then they went ahead and made him damn near unrecognizable. It's a repeated cycle of rework, overpowered for a while, nerfed, repeat. At this point I'd rather they just wait a bit and release a larger group of reworks because either way they're going to have to patch the reworks and buff characters to fit the certain meta anyways. They keep changing the state of the game, and eventually the reworked characters are gonna need another rework and so on. This is why I think reworks should be stopped. Every time they rework a character it shifts the game more and more until eventually it falls off the counter and everything is broken. If you have to constantly rework the characters you've designed for your game as time goes on, you either fucked up the design, or you've fucked up the game.

Absolutely!! The longsword was one of the most versatile weapons in history. Warden has plenty of thrusting exes but no attacks. Something like a Glad-skewer. I think the thrust should be a heavy not a light though. I'm not a dev so I won't theorize much further beyond that lol but he should definitely have some sort of thrusting attack. Like after a double light you could choose either a side/top heavy or a skewer all of which are feintable.
Give us half swording and murder stroke attacks. I kinda wish his 2nd heavy in his chain would be thrown as a murder stroke since it’s met to be unblockable.

i guess it depend on your experience in the game. I can hit confirm attacks, and so can almost every one of my opponents i fight. Many of the tiandis i fight can hit confirm the forward dodge bash and counter my dodge attacks with the crushing counter dodge attack and can also do the same with the kick after heavies even on reaction. Tiandi is just super safe and almost unpunishable.
How come you dont use top lights? Theyre faster than the sides and only do 3 less damage than the double light. If you land a second light in any other direction its like 12 more damage than the double side light

Man some heroes are way to overtuned and for some reason they are super committed to “bringing up” other heroes to their level instead of bringing them down a notch. A very stubborn decision, and honestly I don’t think it will pay off in the long turn, I used to love playing Valk and Jorm now I get no enjoyment from them, lawbringer is going to be the same… The game will just end up being super annoying.
Warden does need an attack that can not be dodged... Kensei and Raider do not have such but they have ton of soft faints and other tools like dodge attacks, meanwhile Warden does have shit to deal with Tiandi, JJ or other heavy ass dodge attack spammers that also can not be punished with GB while in dodge again looking at Tiandi bullshit...

Shoulder bash was unreactable at a time when very few things were. These days there's a lot more unreactable stuff so shoulder bash isn't special anymore.

Doesn't help that Warmonger is basically an updated warden who better fits the current meta of the game. Another thing I will point out is that variable bashes have kinda been power crept these days. Back then the guaranteed GB on miss was because the potential dmg payout of a fully charged was there and the bash was feintable at a time where that didn't exist on any other bash. But you look at the current climate of the game with Jorm running around with a 30dmg feintable static bash, Tiandi with a 24dmg feintable static bash. Shaolin with a 24 dmg feintable bash. All of which are WAYYY safer and charged bashes are pretty much worse versions of those bashes in almost every way. They need to make a pass on variable bashes. Something as simple as making uncharged bashes not GB vulnerable and the fully charged one GB vulnerable would help out a good bit. They experimented with catching late input dodge attacks with centurion and they butchered his charged punch in almost every scenario so they need to do something else for that lol. But the risk skew of variable bashes as It stands is not fair with how the game has evolved.

I mean you're literally watching a video of a godlike warden facing S-tier characters while he explains how bad warden is compared to them. The bash itself may not be retractable but it is extremely easy to read. Not only that, but he gets 16 damage off if he hits, but if he misses the opponent gets a heavy because warden has no safe bashes. T3 has hyperarmor but only on the last few frames, this makes it difficult for warden because it is extremely common for people to just light you out of your bash so they don't have to worry about it. If they start doing this, you literally have to make a read during your own offense. It also makes ganking worse considering there's many characters with lots of reach that can just external you out of your bash or heavy. Wardens unlockable heavies are technically not a 50/50. That would imply that you literally have to make a guess on what will happen. If you are good at reacting to parry flash you can parry it, if you aren't you can just dodge attack (which is especially viable because warden doesn't have hyperarmor nor soft feints), and some characters have other options they can do to just power through it or nullify it. So warden does not have an actual 50/50. He has CC on top but there are 2 other sides people can hit from, so the warden would need to have either great reaction skill and/or make a read on what will happen, even then that doesn't make up for the people who have better kits than him but can do it on all sides. Overall I agree that he doesn't need an undodgeable, he needs hyperarmor ONLY on finisher heavies, and softfients for his finisher heavies.

T3 has hyperarmor but only on the last few frames, this makes it difficult for warden because it is extremely common for people to just light you out of your bash so they don't have to worry about it. If they start doing this, you literally have to make a read during your own offense. It also makes ganking worse considering there's many characters with lots of reach that can just external you out of your bash or heavy.
Wardens unlockable heavies are technically not a 50/50. That would imply that you literally have to make a guess on what will happen. If you are good at reacting to parry flash you can parry it, if you aren't you can just dodge attack (which is especially viable because warden doesn't have hyperarmor nor soft feints), and some characters have other options they can do to just power through it or nullify it. So warden does not have an actual 50/50.
He has CC on top but there are 2 other sides people can hit from, so the warden would need to have either great reaction skill and/or make a read on what will happen, even then that doesn't make up for the people who have better kits than him but can do it on all sides.
Overall I agree that he doesn't need an undodgeable, he needs hyperarmor ONLY on finisher heavies, and softfients for his finisher heavies.
