- We don't see anywhere near as many FJ55's as we'd like in the yard at Mr Landcruiser, and certainly not as nice as this one. Kick back and check out this Iron Pig with Paul.

Wow 55's bring back some great memories. I remember like it was yesterday playing with the ashtray in the back doors while squeezed in with 3 brothers on the back seat, winding the tailgate window (it was tough for a 6 year old). The 12HT is the conversion Dad considered in the mid 80's but traded it for a Hilux instead. Dad's first 4x4 and a beast that has inspired the remote traveling off roading desires in our family. Iron Pig I salute you!
So cool mate
My Dad had a 69 FJ55 when I was a kid. We had that from ‘72 to ‘82. It was an old 3 speed F series engine.
That old girl took us all over FNQ, to and from Brisbane more times than I care to remember, with no aircon, radio or any other mod cons.
I remember it like yesterday, Dad and Mum up front, smoking cigarettes like legends, my younger brother and I in the back seat just enjoying the ride.
Those were the days.
What a beauty, thanks for showing us around it.
Our pleasure!
I grew up with my dad owning two 55 series cruisers. One was a 1974, did our first family holiday to Fraser Island staying in the A frame houses at Eurong. The second was a 1978 model that he had a turbo fitted. That one was a rocket, man did it pull hard. If you had the rear window down it wasn’t fresh air you were breathing either….😮 Very cool vehicles. Cheers Jim
Awesome upbringing mate in one of these, well done.
Good video. Back before we had police divers in NZ, RNZN divers were based around the country and one of their roles was to support the police. The Navy dive team in Wellington in the 1970s (and possibly into the early 1980s) had an immaculate dark blue FJ55 with a black external roll cage. It had the barn doors, if I recall correctly. A 12HT would be a nice upgrade for an older, lighter weight vehicle like that.
My Dad had a few back in the day - I lived them ! 😁
have 60 and 105, but this is something !
Kids havin darts in the back 😄
hahaha
Very cool guys
Such a cool rig
Agreed
Not many of these left unfortunately all rusted away
I appreciate your enthusiasm, because I had an FJ55 as well -but what do I see in the background ? Looks like some HDJ 75 or 78...? Split feelings ?
So uncool it's cool.
Unicorn!
