Great video. I have a solo honey gourami in a 10 gallon with Corys and cardinal tetras and he gets along well with them. He recognizes me when I walk up to the tank and will even come out of hiding to greet me. I like bettas too but my gourami is more fun to watch imo.
Cheers mate :) Totally agree mate, I have a betta in another tank and she is fun to watch but my Honey Gourami just get upto all sorts with their little ventral fins tapping things, so fun to watch :).
I love the honey gourami, too. I have 5 in my 29 gallon tank, and they all get along well (so far). Previously, I had seven dwarf rainbow fish and they were just too frantic for me. I have a fishkeeper friend who has wanted the dwarf rainbows for a long time, so he has them now. I sure hope he has luck breeding them! Meanwhile, the only problem I see with the honey gourami is they are gluttons, and I worry about the cory catfish not getting enough nutrition. The honeys love to interfere with their food! Take care and thank you for this video!
Thanks for sharing :) I think i'm lucky, my harlequin rasboras seem to scare my honey gourami when I first add food as they dart around eating so plenty sinks for my corydoras to eat.
Great video. I have a 180 liter tank (lotsa plants and hiding places) with 25 cardinals and 8 corydoras sterbai. How much honey gouramis would you add? I'm thinking 1 male and 4 females. Or could I do 2 males and 4 females?
Cheers mate, I think either could work, both of my males formed their own territories in my tank and they only chase the other one away if it comes into its zone. Theres kind of a no mans land in the foreground and left hand side where they tend to play without issue.
Can always try to split the flow using plants or decor, so one side of the tank is lower flow while the other is higher, then each species can go where they feel comfortable.
I always recommend honeys over bettas. Especially for aggression and ease of keeping them with tankmates. They’re also more active and use their whole tank. Sweet fish
I love their little eyes, they seem so curious and yet surprised at the same time
Yea, they are such a cute little fish :)
It's not a honey gourami video without them touching everything!
That's what makes them so absolutely adorable! ❤
Totally agree mate, I want a dedicated honey gourami tank in the future :)

I want a get a 20 gallon tank and have one of these
They are great fish, they will do well in a 20G too :)
i want 2 in my 30 gallon but i cant have em due to it being a moderate flow aquarium for my white clouds and ottos
Yea thats a good point, I tried a slightly higher water flow pump and they freaked out and hid in the tank.

Do you know if Honey Gourami eat ramshorn snails much?
I would doubt it, I have pest snails in my tank and my honey gourami just leave them alone and they are tiny.

Yea thats a good call, I love my betta but my Honey Gourami are my favourite fish, they are just so entertaining to watch!
Why did bro throw up the nazi salute at the start 🤨
🤣
@@GlassBoxDiaries Also great video btw! I love honeys so much. They're so underrated and fun to watch
@@zandikaa Cheers mate, totally agree, I want a dedicated honey gourami ecosystem tank next year :)
