I put 11 White Clouds in a well planted natural 30 gallon aquarium, 3 weeks ago. Lots of leaves for making nature's cycle. A few tiny Cherry shrimp. The plants are thriving and today I noticed at least 8 tiny White Cloud fry happily grazing near the top. There are probably more as I have floating drift wood, and various floater plants and val reaching and crossing the water's surface. I'm surprised how well the White Clouds are thriving and how quickly I have fry. White Clouds are a delightful active little schooling minnow. I also like tanks I don't have to use a heater in.
This was a great video, I'm so happy to finally see the setup and progress of this tank. It's probably one of my favorite aquascapes that you've done, good work, Shaun.
good looking tank! i've read somewhere that bucephalandra usually struggle during cycling, so it's recommended they are added after the cycle is complete.
Cheers mate, glad they are helping :) Got a lot of downs with one of my new tanks but its video wont be up for a month or two but it does seem to be slowly turning around :)
I've bought an extra two cory cats before because they would have been all that would be left at the LFS after I got my six, and I didn't want them to be sad without a school.
Is it just me or does your filter media look backwards? As in the water should be flowing through course, then medium, then fine mechanical media, but yours is set up to flow through fine, then medium, then course.
Kind of mate, thats usually when the foam is being used for mechanical filtration to catch debris before it gets to the biological media in larger filters. In this, the filter floss is the only mechanical filtration so I put it first. The two other foam blocks are about the same PPI, just one came with the filter, the other is custom cut so they are different colors both being used as biological filter media in this.

Couldn't agree more mate, I like these gold white clouds so much I'm thinking of getting some regular ones for another tank.

To save the babies (shrimp & fish) put a sponge on the filter intake.
Thanks for the tip :)
