You are so dang cute. My husband and I are seniors and are having to back off some from our "big" gardening. I've been keeping up with what we managed to get planted due to my husband's health issues. I'm not ready to quit gardening. The food is too good. This gives me hope that I can still keep growing good food as I age.

Hey Cassandra, love your videos and personality. The peppers you showed in this video are NOT jalapeños. My guess is Hot Bannanas or maybe Fresno chilis. We have grown hot peppers for over 60 years so would say expert on this topic. We love growing tame jalapeños and habanero peppers which impart flavor and mild heat. Give them a try.

I have had good luck this year by putting lots of wooden toothpicks and barbecue skewers in my planters and garden. Squirrels don't like all the pointiness. Cinnamon and pepper also deter them. Bits of Irish Spring soap on skewers helps. This year, I'm just using loads of skewers, sticks and toothpicks. Anything pointy works including forks.

I love it. I have 2 greenstalks that I purchased last year. My oldest son and his wife are buying their first home - a condo. He loves to cook. I told him he should think about greenstalks - he wants to grow peppers. I tried to talk my daughter into it. Right now, she is trying to grow flowers. She says I do not have a green thumb. Maybe in time, esp now that they have it in her color - pink.

Oh my goodness, thank you so much. I am two years in my two towers and I have had one fail after another. Your videos are so incredibly helpful. I am scheduled to attend a class on amending soil, soil I have left in my GS for two years, with no mulch, so it's been exposed to severe heat and cold snowy winters at least twice. I think I may cancel that class and have your videos be my garden coach. Your towers are beautiful and lush with the flowers at the top. And thank you so much for the great printables. I am a visual learner, and the illustrations of the towers and what goes with what really bless me. I have wanted to buy another tower, but without any justification, since I have had no real good success in the two that I currently have outside in my yard. You have given me so incredibly much in this one video and your amazing wisdom and gifted communication skills, I am going to make my husband proud, finally, when I have a good harvest following your recommendations! And may just buy not one, but two more towers!!! Thanks again, I could cry I am so grateful to God for coming across your video. I have been subscribed since I purchased my first GS, but I haven't really seen an videos. This was not a coincidence! You are my coach now, and I am so appreciative. Bless you Homestead Coach Farm Girl!😊 Shalom!

By the time you have a farm it will all be second nature and u can have the time to learn your animals!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰 So smart. Great healthy garden! I'll have to try the vertical garden! One tip I saw on Utube, once u behead ur roses take those heads and plant them upside down (where the rose grew down in the dirt) and u'll soon have new rose plants! You got a good green thumb, let us know how it went! Thanks for the tips! ❤

Wait, what? I'll have to try that-thanks for sharing. I'm glad you think I have a green thumb-lol. Vertical planting certainly gives you an advantage when it comes to dealing with fewer pests and actually being able to more easily spot check your garden- I don't know where I'd be without them!

I feel so far behind planting and prepping. And soon it will be fall.
But your tower garden has given me hope. I’ll try to make one myself.
I’m going to start this project outside and continue it under grow lights with timers in my basement and other areas in my house.
I’ll try to see how much faster I can grow new crops from full grown plants with roots or from cuttings. Of course I’ll plant some seeds from my fresh produce too.
Your garden looks marvelous! Thanks so much for sharing!🙏🏽

.I grow lots of things in 5 gallon food grade pickle buckets that a friend who works at a restaurant saved me. Just drill drain holes in the bottom of the buckets and they are perfect to grow tomatoes, squash, zucchini , or anything youd grow in square foot gardening. Grow bags are also a great option for deck , porch , terrace or rooftop gardening , I have successfully grown potatoes and sweet potatoes in them. Sweet potato leaves are great sautéd o slow cooked like greens or in salads when young and tender. I also have potted fig , meyer lemon and key lime trees that produce fruit in zone 7

My balcony has a huge built in awning that shades the whole space, and we share a porch with some people I don’t trust so I’m not growing anything out front (ah, the joys of renting). It’s made growing anything REALLY difficult. I can get some herbs and smaller salad greens ok, but even with lights it’s been a struggle. Microgreens are the best in my space since they can grow in a window sill. Can’t wait to move at the end of this year so I can grow more stuff and actually have it grow and perform well next year!

I have some raised beds in my little front yard. No patio to set anything on but with the beds and some containers it is working. Every little bit helps!

This is AMAZING!!!! I absolutely love what and how you are doing things.
I am a beginner, and everything is going well. This has given me so much hope not to give up on my garden. I purchase worm castings for my garden. But I would much rather produce my own. I have so many questions, and you are answering them all!!! Thank you so much.😊
