Everyone can do better by trying to at least give them more than standard poses first. Literally anything to make them stand out with their body-shapes and postures is a vast improvement. That said, I appreciate that you took effort into redoing your own redesign, it's a level of commitment sorely lacking in big industries.
@plumaDshinigami Thank you. I genuinely love what I'm doing, and I genuinely dislike making my work badly. I never really designed characters before, so it's understandable not everything turned out as well as I wanted it to be. And I agree on poses. It's the least they could do.
I personally see the difference in attractive versus appealing designs, one designed for an audience and the other just looks cool or badass as a design. I honestly always liked the idea of ugly designs but not unappealing either, it’s just hard to do right at times. Your spins on the girlies here are very wonderful though!
@XppleCutiie Thank you! I understand! I love ugly and creepy designs myself. A character doesn't have to be attractive to be appealing and liked by an audience. And Concord's problem is not characters being ugly. They are simply badly designed. The wrong kind of ugly, I guess 🤔
I should elaborate, this is not just fine art. This is so good. I love the afro, it fits so much better and the fact you saw that, I saw that. And went back. Magnifique. Love how you leaned into the box design. Most artists move away from it. Idk where you are on your art journey, but I can't wait to see the rest of it.
@randomaccountwithmusic4206 Thank you again! :] I really appreciate it!!! I couldn't not to go back. My perfectionism would eat me for leaving them to look bad next to others. And I didn't know most artists move away from the box design. I find it very charming!
you did a great job with both of them! and with the corrections on the previous two as well. the afro makes the first girl a lot more interesting and shows they didn’t need to go overboard with changes to make the characters look good. same with lark, after seeing the original concepts, i’m curious when they decided to give him a gun instead of sticking with the mushroom spore idea. also, fun fact: he’s actually a guy! (maybe the only thing the redesign missed was making that a bit more obvious, lol)
@neoecity Thank you! 🩷 Oh... OH, IT'S A GUY?! When I saw him for the first time, I automatically assumed he was a girl. I caught people talking about Daw being a guy, but never really saw anyone discussing Lark. And I cut a part of the video where I talked about not reading character descriptions (more as a joke). I think I'll change that. At least it'll be interesting to compare my ideas to their actual roles in the game.
@josecarlosurbinazavaleta49 Thank you so much! 🩷 Lark was by far the hardest to redo since I didn't have any ideas going in. And program crashes didn't make it any easier.
Okay, first off, lovin’ the second draft of Bazz and It-z. Second, amazing job design with Lark her dress and overall aesthetic feel far more coherent and look very smooth. Third, Daveers looks amazing, she actually comes across as someone who would be dispatched to hazardous environments; she almost reminds me of the pyro from TF2. Sorry, that I took a while to comment. I cannot wait to see what you do next.😄
@insectostrich4407 Oh, thank you! :3 I'm sitting there in Photoshop staring at my screen right now, and I really needed to hear something like that :) Better late than never!
@insectostrich4407 Oh no, I'm a dummy 🫣 I wrote a comment and copied it to check in translator, so I don't accidentally mess up some words, and... copied it again. Thanks again, haha 😅
@@kari_matles No problem.😂 Anyway, one of the many critiques I hear about Lark was how her jagged body didn’t match with her armor, so great idea with the dress and traditional mushroom head. I would’ve just made the armor old, hardened fungus. I also can’t get over how cool and mysterious Daveers looks. Good call with making the visor blacked out.
@insectostrich4407 Ooh, trying to think of the way to spin Lark's costume into something normal was exhausting. Especially the head because it was so easy to accidentally make it look goofy. It was the part of the painting that I kept on reworking and recoloring the most, I didn't even record it. And I like the idea about old hardened fungus as an armor! I would probably do something like that if I knew that Lark is actually a guy while making the video x) I think Daveers was almost there in the original. I didn't want to throw away her square helmet because it's very cool. Lethal Company made me absolutely love these types of costumes.
New baz looks so cool. I already sorta liked her original design except for those horrible intestine shoulder pads and those atrocious glasses. Also spore magic is so much cooler than spore gun!
Amazing work once again! You should do 1-0ff next, cause he definitely needs fixing from being just a walking barrel. I think you should give him a more human and muscular design as a nice contrast to his "boy in the girl group" personality, also keeping his little heart shape.
Lark went from a bad MK11 D'vorah skin to a Fantasy strategy/RPG game's priest unit(probably for either an elven or an undead kingdom), which is high improvement. While Daveers... Lost her way while playing Lethal Company, the poor sod. Literally poor, the company needs it's scrap. Memes aside, I like the new redesigns. Although Lark's werewolf-ass feet are a bit misplaced imo, they would look better either in the same colour pallete or brighter in comparison to the rest of the body, while Daveers seems to be missing an arm.
@braintornout6555 I DIDN'T ENABLE HER BACK_ARM LAYER. NOOOO... Thank you! God, it's embarrassing. It wasn't me, it's Bracken, he stole it. Well, another bug fix in the next video. A good opportunity to write a joke about it. I love Lethal Company and their suits. Perfection 🤌 I find Daveer's square helmet to be charming. Today. I don't know how much I'll cringe at my redesign tomorrow 😆
I would have emphasized more on the Mushroom species primitive nature, I like thinking of them as an unevolved very feral species that just propagate with spores making shroom colonies in other planets and they kill the local ecosystem, etc. IT-Z just needs different "skins" different fur color options, different outfits maybe make her more Black Metal inspired. Baz is a god dam joke I rather replace it with another character altogether again I aint limited by "gotta have black characters" tokenist demand so the options are limitless & free. Bucket head lady same thing, terrible design I would re-start from scratch. imo what Concord did sorta right was the aliens except the White Man but Yellow guy, its super bad lol. I like the potential the aliens have. I would make an story where these species are at war with one another & hate each other guts but on some instances they work together, maybe as mercenaries, or they serve an inter-galactic empire they got conquered by, etc but they have a radically different culture.
Concords character designs just aren't appealing. No one wants to cosplay the characters. No ones interested in them. And when the game is hero shooter with lame looking heroes. No one's really gonna be interested.

I like your redesigned redesign for Bass but for the cat girl I really did like what you did with the darker hair the first time around.
