- This episode was requested by one of our besties Stephanie, and it really STRESSED ME OUT. Help! I'm In A Secret Relationship is a fairly new show, with their first episode only premiering in summer of 2022. The basic premise of the show, is that someone in a relationship and/or friendship, feels as if they are being hidden. So, they reach out to Rahne Jones and Travis Mills to get help, and get to the truth of why they are being hidden. The last episode we covered of this show, was an absolute dumpster fire, and this one is no different, it's just a dumpster fire in a different way. This one is a lot messier, and I had a lot more to say, hence the longer video. Overall, Help! I'm In A Secret Relationship is extremely messy, so I love it, and I know you will too. The episode we are talking about in this video is Emma & Barry, Season 1 Episode 3 or 4 depending on your streaming platform. I hope you love this video as much as I loved making it! I've got very strong opinions, and as per usual, I know you will, so make sure to drop them down in the comments! In this economy there are SO MANY reasons why people are forced to live at Home. I understand how some would judge, I get it though. All of the secrecy though was the red flag for me. Not him living ar home 39. I'm 39 myself, and I am STRUGGLING.
THANK YOU! I'm already struggling with the guilt/embarrassment of still living at my family home at 28, not to mention my financial state; I don't need to deal with the fear of still living with my mom at 39. I refuse to let that be my future, but judgement from others doesn't help.
Yup! I live on my own for 2 years and the fuckin struggle I can’t even save and I’m on disability but yep the judgement of still living at home with their parents, think people forget about housing crisis (and not just in America worldwide)
While its Hella embarrassing to live with your mom, I've got one better that made me miss living with my mom. I was living with one of my best friend's exes, I was grateful for a place to stay and in the beginning relieved that I was finally moving out but that situation was so so much worse. I paid an ungodly amount for a room, had to clean the entire house, could only have "approved" company over and on top of it, there were cameras everywhere that had sound and yes, he watched the footage. I'm currently couch surfing to get to work and hoping to save up, so I'm definitely not dating, but when I lived with my mom, I was able to date comfortably and I do miss that. Introducing a man to my mom was way less weird than introducing a man to my male roommate who doesn't understand boundaries. I wish I never got depressed and could move back home.

I understand where your coming from about addicts in this context but as someone whose been in recovery for a long time we are deserving of a normal life and love. Addicts who seek help and recover should be seen for who they are we aren't all the same. Some of us hit bottom and see the pain we caused others and to ourselves. We seek improvement. We are not hopeless we can be better and get better. Your words are hurtful.
I think you’re missing what she was saying. When she said once and addict always and addict was mentioning that it’s something they will always struggle with. So Barry saying he’s 100% cured, will never happen again was not true. She’s saying that everyday they have to keep making the choice to say no, not that they’re less of a person.

……my brother is 33 and I give him a hard time for living with our mom still. Sorry, but I think if you’re over 21 you shouldn’t be living with mommy and daddy. But that’s just my opinion that I have a right to.
@@Steph_is_back as you should I wrote for discussion. Idk your brother or his circumstances but things change per person per state. A lot of folks blame the cost of living but in my case it made sense economically not just for me but for my mom too and the fact that the cost of rent nearly doubled since I initially moved out. You have to have a damn near perfect credit score, 3x the rent to qualify, and a clean background I have 2 of those 3…. My mom also was struggling to find a place on her own and we weren’t going to allow eachother to be homeless. I lived alone, then had roommates, now my mom’s my roommate and we were able to combine our incomes to meet that 3x the rent criteria. Eventually I plan to move out but for now it’s what made the most sense. Love your opinion nobody should mooch off parents forever!
Idk bc even though I would personally like to move out by like 22, or as soon as I’m finished with my masters degree, I’m also Nigerian so most people I know live with their parents until they’re married… for example best friend’s brother got married at age 30… my cousin is 27 and is getting married this summer… and unfortunately I have no intention to be married so I don’t think my parents have any intention of freeing me 🤣🤣
