Flambeau made fully flocked turkey decoys over 10yrs ago!
Really! Never knew that!
@@BlueCollarOutdoorsUSA Drury's used them back when MAD Calls was still a thing
Them bastards ahahah I was stoked to think this was a first ahaha
Bought a Stevens 301 20 cause of your reviews didn't want to be out there with my sbe or franchi. Now I'm looking for a new set of decoys in between the painted set of these and dsd any recommendations?
I swear by my dsd lead hen it’s my go to for every situation I find myself using decoys
I do use the dsd quarter strut Jake as well sometimes but more & more I go with the posturing hen & lead hen (dsd) or just the lead hen
@@BlueCollarOutdoorsUSA I've only seen the 3/4 Jake was looking at that but should I just save my money and grab a hen? I was gonna get both was kind of thinking that Jake might scare off some birds . I have a jr with me we want to tag out were not above blasting a nice Jake lol
@@wolfpackoutdoors9618 I really like the DSD lead hen I have tons of hunts on the channel that shows just how effective it is by itself
Good looking decoys. What if a gobbler jumps on it. Wont it mess it up? Have u done one on Avian decoys?
I would imagine it would mess it up but the gobbler should be dead at that point
Can you order best to worse out of Dsd, avian hdr, and sx?
I can once I see how the turkeys react to the Sx decoys
I have video of birds on a sunny day. The birds did put off a strong shine.
I do agree with change up to the look of your decoys.
Birds will be birds.
Yessir they do, I’ll go over the benefits flocking in the full review to clear everything up
Jake I've seen these decoys in action this year in Tennessee they were the death of 2 different Gobblers. Hope they work good for ya buddy.
Hell ya that’s what I like to hear!
I'm 100 percent certain they will be the death of any hot gobbler in eyesight, but with that in mind I've learned a moderately priced and mostly reluctant decoy will work as good as any of then,Having bought dsd, montana, avian x,etc they all have flaws like did their so heavy you tend to leave them more then take them cause they take away from the fun of being lite and running and gunning,My oppinion is the lightest realistic decoy for the money, has been primos for along time just a cheap old gobble stopper hen,and a flextone thunder chicken strutter, with the small body and slap a real fan on it,and I've had great success with those pacavility of that combo is bar none to the rest pack the strutted in my hand bye the fold up stake and hen in a backpack style bag,and if I pop up on a gobbler walking to my setup the little stutter I can hide behind and maneuver to what setups available without being busted,In the mountains of tn and ky I've seen myself and many other put a hurting on them with that exact combo is why it has been my go to for years and the thunder creeper and gobblestopper hen and Jake all togetheirs under 100 bucks, and the Jake ain't bad I just never use it cause I like having the strutted cause its down sized body thats flat and fan adaptable and you can hide behind it the whole way in if need be and built in fold up stake and all that and lite as a feather theirs many benefits of that combo
Hell ya! All that matters is finding what works!!
@@BlueCollarOutdoorsUSA Thats right brother!!
DSD and HDR partial flocked look way better. Those things don’t have near the shine of the other decoys with all that flocking on them.
Well the point is to not have the shine the flocking is to add the contrast to really be seen from afar that is the whole point of it
Not defending it just explaining why it’s beneficial… how ever I’m not sold it belongs in the turkey woods
For me I wouldn’t spend the money on them. They don’t seem like they will last super long and I beleive avian x to make a way better decoy for less money with the LCD and HDR decoys.
I don’t think they’re worth the money either for how I hunt as I don’t hunt many fields or areas I need that extra visibility long range but for some it could be a game changer
Dave smith decoys are hard to beat imo.
Facts!!
Agree 💯
The jake decoy looks really good I think the hen decoy might be to dark in color but I'm a avian x decoy user they r a great decoy
The point is to be dark that’s the flocking or are you talking about the head of it?
@@BlueCollarOutdoorsUSA 👍
They look really nice 🦃🦃
They do for sure just wish they had a better carry bag but I have plenty I can use instead
Wow, impressive 👍
They’re intriguing for sure!
@@BlueCollarOutdoorsUSA unfortunately I spent most of spring gobbler with covid👎 Gonna try to get out for the last week.
That’s the best week! It’s been tough very spotty and hardly any gobbling for us so far, this is my favorite time of the season
@@BlueCollarOutdoorsUSA second phase, I call it operation ambush 👍
I like your style!!
They do look good 🦃
Yessir!
My honest opinion is flocked turkey decoys look un-natural. I do believe that flocked backs look natural but not the whole body
The concept of flocking is to add contrast to the decoy spread, it’s a big thing in waterfowl as it helps catch the fowls eye more so than a regular painted decoy
How it applies to turkeys well we will see, but the mindset would be the same
