Also on this type of vehicle you can not really swap the relays, they are two different types. True they both fit in each others relay socket but the fule relay has a normally open and a normally closed contacts where as the A/C relay has only one contact which is normally closed. The reason the fule relay has a normally closed contact is so that the fule pump can prime the fule-rail before cranking the engine. When the engine starts the fule relay engages, closing the relay turning the pump on during engine running operation.
Is there a missing part 2 to this video? So what exactly was the reason for the "0" reading on the fuel gauge reading? at min. 5:30 or so, we're told the fuses also weren't the problem.... then you said you'd be going off to "back of fuel tank" -- then the video abruptly cuts off to unrelated chatter and standard warnings...?
This is exactly why I hate that youtube got rid of the dislike button. I watched this video expecting further insight into what could be the cause of my cars issues and instead I wasted 8 mins not realizing at the start that this guy never fixes his vehicle. could have summed up this video in 15 seconds: "Check the users manual and look at the fuses"
Just for the record, the key has to be on in order to get voltage to the fuse that feeds the ECM relay and the fuel pump relay. To check the voltage at the fuse, one probe of the tester has to be to ground the other on the fuse terminal. Voltage must be on both sides of the fuse. If you unplug the fuse and plug it back in, you should here the fule pump relay clicking as well as the other relay located at the air intake of this particular vehicle.
find a check list for your car/truck and do them in reverse…… start from back to front..... most of these lists are made to drag out the diagnosis charge time..... :) of course after you check for fuel and spark at the engine.
On some vehicles the pump doesn't work until it senses the engine cranking. If you don't get any pressure with the key on crank the engine a few revolutions and see if the pressure jumps. If not--then you definitely have a problem.
0 on a 2006 GMC I dropped the gas tank without unhooking the battery is there a procedure I need to go through to reinstate the brain to start the truck
I have not found ((( NOT ONE ))) video on 2000 Cadillacs with a 4.5 engine. Trying find if there’s a shredder valve to test fuel pressure or any fuel test what so ever and I’ve been searching for over 9 hrs now. Every other GM / Chevy engine and other car makes. Like WTF Thank god I’m not in a rush to figure out if my fuel pump is bad. Guess I’ll just walk home. I’m only a days walk home and in a snow storm .
PLEASE HELP!!! We have a 95 S10 chevy blazer, my husband is completely stumped which scares me because he knows his ish....we have replaced the fuel pump 3 times in the past 6 months or so, he just put a new one on 2 days ago and while he was driving at work tonight all the sudden it started stumbling and wouldn't go over 10 mph. So now here we sit again completely clueless as to what's happening. It idles smooth but is hesitating on acceleration. We have put Autozone fuel pumps on, which I am getting mixed reviews about now. ANYTHING you can tell us to help would be very appreciated. If we don't figure this out soon we will lose everything because that truck is our money maker, we have kids, my husband is a driver so the truck is key to our survival......we need help!!! Thanks In Advance :)
Fuel filter might be getting plugged up causing the fuel pump to work too hard, but he's probably already replaced the filter. So when it doesn't want to run, remove the gas cap and listen if you hear a lot of air rush in. The gas cap has a valve that should allow air into the gas tank as the fuel level in the tanks goes down. If the gas cap isn't allowing air into the tank, it creates a vacuum in the gas tank and the fuel pump will struggle to pump any fuel. Also check the fuse for the fuel pump. If it looks corroded or discolored where the metal makes contact, use a piece of sandpaper to clean any corrosion from where the fuse plugs in and replace the fuse.
Telfer 222 when u replaced the pump.did you replace the entire pump module. ( float.regulator. check valve etc) or just the pump itself?? if so it might be a bad check valve.and or regulator
Who stole the rest of the video? The part where you show why you had 0 psi? Just for that, I'm gonna wear a necktie and go work on my truck, get under it with a rickety jack-stand only, & spray copious amounts of flammables in all the naughty places.
You are a pro. Thank you for holding the tester up like that. I assembled mine looking at it.
Uh... did I miss something? I guess the guy diagnosed the problem and fixed it when I blinked my eyes.

It's almost as if we got slapped in the face. Thanks anyway Autozone!
Yeah happened to the explanation or steps to conclude?

Brilliant first video I've seen to use graphics ( easy to understand) and very clear, concise instructions...well done

Really good vid. Thank you.

Crank sensor could be inoperable.
What tool are you using to pull the relays I need one of those thanks for broadcast!
mistake, ment to say the A/C relay has a normally open contact that closes when the A/C switch in side the vehicle is turned on.
this is why i only go to autozone for accessories not automotive advice.
does a 2000 toyota corolla have a shrader valve for testing fuel pressure or do I need special connecters for testing my fuel pressure

I like the explanation. Of this man
i only asked ,what time is it,not how do you build a clock ..
Did the car start prior to no fuel pressure

would a bad fuel pump or filter couse the engine to stall and cut out ?
Yes most definitely cause the engine is not getting enough gas
good vid , thanks .
So, what is pressure on the gauge?
could be the guage. ive loaned out 1 doa and one broke down under usage from autozone.

Telfer 222 get a original part and do a pressure test

Tell me the pressure of petrol &diesel in car
Well, ok. But how to do this if your car doesn't have fuel injection?
and never ever work with and rings on your hands or a watch,,, they can get damaged,,,,,
Good
First thing I would of done,....see if pump turns on when I open the switch. If u don't check this first,...then your not IN THE ZONE.
conclusion?
what he does not tell you you have to buy this info ....

A partially clogged fuel filter will NEVER give you zero fuel pressure, never. It can not become 100% clogged in normal operating conditions.
Wanna bet?
They need to remove this guy from any mechanical training whatsoever 😂

Delphi and AC Delco fuel pumps for GMs only.I will not install an Airtex,do overs most of the time.
"Step by step guide" implies there is more than one step, which is clearly not the case in this video
