I'll be honest... I always got so paranoid about the Chosen that I made sure to take them out before they could find you. I thought them finding you was an instant game over... I'm kind of disappointed I haven't experienced those missions yet.

I'm right there too. I thought it was another game over condition. Now I want it to happen. Thankfully I googled it out of curiosity, although now I'm conflicted. Right now I have both Hunter's and Warlock's strongholds vulnerable, but I'm struggling with do I kill? who do I kill? When do I kill? And who do I help find me? I love having the Chosen around.
Before 25:07 there are a few lines missed. In summary; Central tells Outrider they are meeting Mox, she is outraged to hear this since Mox was brutal while with ADVENT.
I mean, he isn't able to do much to help in the defense of the Avenger. XD Probably best for him to do something productive, and it would probably trigger PTSD in some aliens, given Vahlen.
the hunter was always my favourite, disregarding gameplay, his personality and cling to humanity is pretty fun to listen to, snippy comments and witty remarks on the ups and downs during combat. i genuinely laughed out loud when he said "you might as well start throwing rocks" when i used a grenade on him, totally unphased, he just made a pithy insult, it was great. its just a shame that IMO... hes the easiest to fight, so he never ends up sticking around long.
@@Mgsgenesis he is easier if you don't cheese the Warlock with Mindshields and Sparks. All of his Psi attacks are blocked by mind shield so he can just summon spectral troops or shoot and thats about it.
It would be funny if there was rocks you can pick up and throw at him a nd that turned out to be his actual weakness. Just because he would be so phased that someone is actually throwing rocks at him.
I wish we could have used the covert operations part of the game to blackmail, deceive, and pit the chosen against one another - giving us an option to make them kill each other than have to fight them personally.
@@Mgsgenesis probably could make it so the chosen you move to kill is weakened with the sarcophagus at half hp and not as many defenders. Would be interesting to code

so the elders wanted to cure their degeneration by using other species, and the commander was able to achive stronger psyonic potencial and defeat them, and in the meqan time a huge psyonic entity i comming from our ocean and the templars know about them...... considering the amount of times i have watched my soldiers die on the game... i was hopping for a bit more answers
So in my very much comprehensive research I discovered that the 'ADVENT' language is a heavily stylised font and the text is actually all in English. And if you want to really cook your noodle, the Codex we see investigating the commanders stasis chamber has 4 words appear in it's display. "Danger. Avatar is missing" and holy fluff does that bring out a lot of fun theories doesn't it?
First time I saw Assassin I basically one shotted with my Reaper + Claymore, so I had no idea what it actually did until the next mission I encountered it lmao
Mgsgenesis Gaming I remember when I played that mission for the first time. My one sharpshooter had the chosen weapons and the icarus armor. He ended up killing almost everyone with the serial ability and the infinite free reloads, quite the soldier he was.
@@xxtruedahkneshxx8422 man with the right set up the sharpshooter can be OP xD i remember on x-com enemy within you could get a suit with a jet pack, combine that with the perk that lets you see further when your elevated you ruled the battlefield :)
be interesting to see, I just hope we don't wait to long for it, I was disappointed with chimera squad, I liked the concept of it, but couldn't get into it, and didn't like how they changed the art style.
@@Mgsgenesis I had the same problem, I like some of the new gameplay features (alien squads) and some of the new class. But it's looks like a Xcom with rainbows , there is no dark in it. I hope the next game is again dark like the first one. And off course , less human -aloen hybrid and more dark alien theme.
yeah nothing is more scarier than sending one person to a new area for the fog to move and reveal 2 alien squads ready to kill you... that panic moment haha, specially if you think your safe and use both moves running.. opps!

I wish that once you did the final mission the game went on this sort of "free roam" mode. You continue to play the game as normal, but you dont need to worry about the avatar project doom clock. You just continue to fight ADVENT and the aliens and then when you decide to end the game, probably with an activated button in the shadow chamber, those final cutscenes play. Like the advant troopers being surrounded by civilians and the different faction cut scenes afterwards

Just finished the chosen side of things recently just wanted to see if I might have missed anything in particular but it doesn't seem so. but honestly I feel awful for what I did to the Warlock at the end, man didn't even take a step before he got executed out of an overwatch can't say it wasn't funny as hell though.
I hate to fill this comment section but here I am anyways🤷🏻 I found out a fully maxed psychic or pair of them is infinitelymore powerful than an avatar. Just thought that was funny
Ironically the first Chosen is always the hardest. It could just be me, but I think it's because your troops have yet to make any significant technological advances to their weaponry, therefore the Chosen assassin is harder to defeat. But overall it's mainly because she can cloak and move after attacking. It was more annoying than anything else, but managing to finally kill her made it so much more satisfying.
@@Mgsgenesis During the scene where the Elders are speaking to all three of the Chosen, sending them off to go hunt the commander and scolding them for letting their prized possession get away.
They underestimated the threat, and left the defense of this Avatar to local security forces. I mean, XCOM is defeated and there are only some weak guerillas here and there, so several trained soldiers should be fine, right?
if you've played xcom 2 already, id add the expansion with the regular game, and experience it all, if you haven't played xcom 2 yet, play it first with no DLC, WOTC add some random encounters with some very strong enemies that can wipe out your whole squad in one move, and the worst part is if you encounter one of the alien hunters they can take a move for every action you make, and it can make for some hard gameplay :)

yeah, sometimes it can be frustrating, sometimes you can have the right flank on them when they spawn in that you can survive the encounter, they can yeah, if you have the game with WOTC already in, and can choose to start it with WOTC id do that since it ties it all in, and seems seamless. also, early missions train loads of soldiers, and have multiple of each, this being that because if you have them all feeling battle fatigue, than it can really effect ya.

Almost everyone is chipped, except those in the resistance, I think, so there might be a translation matrix in the Psionic network, or something. But there being some kind of translation software would explain why everyone, including aliens, speak English in Chimera Squad.

Man I love this DLC. It makes the whole game feel more alive. Not to mention cinematic.

if you've played xcom 2 already, id add the expansion with the regular game, and experience it all,
