- I was making six-figures fresh out of college working as an analyst at a prestigious Wall Street investment bank. It was in many ways the dream setup and everything I had worked for. I was living in a luxurious apartment in Manhattan, wearing fancy suits, partying at New York’s finest rooftop clubs and making more money than I knew what to do with.
I was even featured in a 10-episode TV series called “Success,” which chronicled the lives of successful millennials. Swedish newspapers dubbed me “The Youngest Swede on Wall Street” and I felt like I had truly arrived. This was my time.
But despite all the external markers of success, something didn’t feel right. As time passed, I began to realize that a life-long career on Wall Street, something finance enthusiasts dream of, wasn’t for me. In this video, I’ll share 3 things I learned that ultimately led me to quit my investment banking gig to pursue a different, riskier and more meaningful path.

Hey, I'm Kunal. I'm a Swedish founder in NYC and ex-investment banker (Lazard M&A). You can think of this as my personal business blog, but in video format.
I create videos about finance, business strategy, M&A and mental models to help me better understand our complex business world. Through my work, I've mostly covered tech, media, healthcare, sports and holdcos so those are naturally the topics I gravitate towards.

It's great to see that despite your success both in your career and your business afterwards, you're still a modest and honest person. Thank you for sharing your experience. In 2019 I enrolled in training to become a developer following a life long passion for computers and technology in general. It cost me £3600 not just for a piece of paper, but the opportunity to work for the company if I like them and if they like me. If not I get the chance to apply to work for any of their customers. It was a brilliant opportunity, but it thought me an important lesson - I didn't want what my superiors had. I wanted to find the way to create value and reinvest in my own growth. That's why I quit and didn't even ask for a refund. Good luck and keep up the good work.

I honestly think it’s one of the most beneficial and affirmative video I watched this year. I am actually the opposite. I cofounded a startup over the past two years, and I realized I need to break into IB to obtain the useful transferrable skills from doing M&A. Good video!

It's in the consumer healthcare space (a chain of medspas driven primarily through subscriptions). Took us 5 years to get to $3M in annual revenue and $1.5M ARR
