The way Darkseid blocks Superman's heat vision is badass at the same time my eyes felt funny the first time I seen him do it

The comic has a different story
Darkseid is one of Superman's best villains. Intellect, fighting skill, strength and power all in one.
Indeed - he is perhaps my favorite Superman villain of all, when done properly and not nerfed. I do hope the DCCU does him Justice (pun intended! :)) ) I hope it's based off of the gigantic New-52 version of Darkseid, though! :P
Gustav Ramirez - Yes! Exactly! And I hope that in the DCCU the story shows that, firstly, he is a Superman villain and knows of Krypton. Then later he's too powerful for Superman and that's when they'll need the Justice League to stop him.

LOL I think its cause her clothes have a tighter fit, hence they are protected by the small field super kryptonians emit, this is why their suits are rarely if ever damaged during combat even though as far as I know aren't made of any super strong materials ...

***** well I really don't know how far it stretches, and it most likely depends on the individuals current physical condition, as for the cape, in general any suspended free flowing material is actually pretty hard to damage, like hitting a towel in mid air, since they can absorb more energy, the cape probably goes in and out of the super kryptonians field, lets says the wearer was thrown against a hard surface with cape behind them, then it would probably be fine since its in close contact, but if the cape was grabbed then its strength varies according the distance to the wearer, also in the movie Kara was thought to have a greater potential then Kal hence her field may be larger/stronger ... which could explain why her clothes didn't tear apart, or maybe Darkseid used a weaker attack since he still wanted to recruit her ...
I like how superman is like come on let's go meet the folks and everything looks all calm and stuff and then BOOM! He goes flying! and chaos happens! XD
this is how the smallville tv series should have ended.. hope flash series and arrow take note, wanna finish on a high note, nothnig beats a bad ass battle. even the zod vs superman in man of steel was cooler then the tv series ending..

(Jonathan and Martha Kent are in the house doing domestic chores when they hear a knock at the door)
Martha: “Jonathan, could you get that?”
Jonathan: “Yes dear.”
(Jonathan walks to the door, opens it, and looks up at Darkseid)
Darkseid: “Bring me the Kryptonian, or-“
Jonathan: *sigh* “Let me guess. You want to destroy him for ruining your plans for world domination or something like that.”
Darkseid: “... Um... well, uh”
Jonathan: (turns his head towards the interior of the house) “Martha! We’ve got another one looking for Clark again!”
Martha: “Again?? That’s the third one this month!”
Jonathan: “Yes dear, I know.”
(The Kents both depart the house, walking calmly past Darkseid without even a glance in his direction, towards their pickup truck. Darkseid is baffled by their nonchalant attitude towards him)
Darkseid: “I... I don’t understand. Are you aware of who I am?”
Jonathan: “It doesn’t matter. Look, just do us a favor, would you? When you two start beating each other up, keep the fight away from the house and the barn, ok?”
Martha: “You’re welcome to watch the television while you wait.”
(They start the truck and drive away from the house. Darkseid stands there awkwardly for a moment before ducking in to the house, sitting down on the floor, and turning on the television)
So he decided to fight the last 2 kryptonians in a SUNNY field? :P that's gonna work well

Azim Robertson Thanos is a guy who is nothing without his gaunlet and his equipment. Darkseid would wipe the floor with him in his true form. He would literally die after one hit from the omega beams

This has to be one of the best surprise attacks in history. Never in my life would I expect Darkseid to come busting out of the Kent family home. Even while I was watching it I was saying to myself "is this shit real or a dream sequence?"

That is why he varies in strength from someone being a bit more strong than a kyrptonian, to someone who can easily teleport planets across the multiverse, mindrape an entire planet, create entire beings, change size, warp reality, heal from matter, possess people, fly, display telekinesis, and the omega effect that can evaporate anything if he choose to.

Nothing can survive the full blast of the omega beam. Superman is protected by the source or he’d be evaporated instantly. Also, Darkseid is not trying to kill Superman as he has teleported Superman off Apokolips many times before. A combination of those two things.

@futboyz The comic book version of the Superman/Batman storyline revealed that 1) The Kents were safely away from their farm, and 2) It was a set-up by Superman and Batman to fake Supergirl's death so that she could live her life under a low profile. Of course, both the comic book version and the cartoon video version left the "Darkseid possibly knows Superman's secret ID from attacking the Kents' farm" hole. (Rolleyes)
What this shows me is that while Darkseid's omega beam cannot vaporize a Kryptonian, heat vision from a Kryptonian can burn right through Darkseid's foot. Which means that a Kryptonian intent on killing Darkseid; perhaps someone like general Zod can destroy Darkseid by burning a hole through his face then burning the rest of his ass to a crisp. Darkseid is all talk but the most he can do to Superman is inflict a bit of pain with his omega beam but couldn't burn or cut through his skin.

The comics say different things at different times depending on the writer handling them. At one point, it says she was exposed longer, but another instance also says that Superman holds back that's why he only seems weaker. Also depends on version of Superman. He is nearly omnipotent in some versions. He's also much stronger now in the new 52. Problem is that he was powered down a lot pre-crises (this is the version we're watching now) but he was stronger before.

If you don't know what I'm talking about, just search RUclips for a darkseid kills dan turpin, and find something from the mid-nineties where Michael Ironside was voicing him. That is a real cartoon, this is almost the kid's toy version of the same thing..
