Hey guys! Today I'm gonna be showcasing the new free base game update for The Sims 4 in June 2022 that adds in lunar cycle, telescopes, and a new death!

Love that it took them almost a decade to convert the backyard telescope animation from older sim game.

It's great to know that I'm not the only one with the missing meteor death trait problem.
Though with the ghosts. I haven't noticed any special interactions. However, they will reenact their death once every day. Even indoors. Even the death music plays.
Ah, that I actually don't know! When I was looking through the tuning files, I find an interaction called "Ghostly Meteor" but never knew how to access it. That interaction could be it! Thanks for sharing about it! 🙌🏽
@@onlyabidoang I do wonder how to take a look into tuning files. There seem to be interesting info hidden in there and I'd like to take a look into that myself.
Try downloading sims 4 studio first, it's a tool that helps you make mods in sims 4, but you can check out the game's xml and tuning files as well

How can you forget the iconic "Reticulating Splines" on the loading screen that came with the patch? That sentence has been around since a long time ago and nearly after 8 years it has been added onto TS4!

I really do hope they fix the meteorite death. It’s pretty underwhelming since there’s no impact animation on the sim. The jump cut to death pose is laughably bad. And it makes no sense the meteorite is just set decor that disappears after a few hours, cause lightning strikes can sometimes spawn rare crystals.
Overall though, they did add a great huge chunk of content this month and I’m thoroughly surprised.
Surprising they don't recycle the lava meteorite from Island Living, at least for post-impact.
I hope they also add an effect where you can get collectibles such as cracking it open like the lava rocks in Island Living.
@@BonaparteBardithion That’s true, cause this death is 100% recycled animations, they didn’t animate anything new. From what it looks like, they used the fight watching animations, and the cowering animation from being terrified. So I don’t understand why they couldn’t have used a collapsing animation for post impact. I was happy this death was coming back since it’s silly and random, but it ended up being not so great. The meteorite death in Sims 3 is catastrophic.
The meteorite death feels so underwhelming compared to the Sims 3, the fact it becomes an guided missile and dissapear afterwards is kinda meh too, but at least it's here I guess.
Underwhelming is a word that describes Sims 4 perfectly.
I agree, I didn’t know about the death and got jumpscared but its so bugged
It should have at least started fires
The fact that traveling to other dimensions, or countries won’t protect you from the meteor but going under any sort of roof will is absolutely wild
The regular size telescope makes me much happier than it should.
He has returned after a long time and come with the good content once again
I love the new rainbow swatches for the wedding dresses! It looks so pretty!
Whenever you get the chance, a video going through the all of similarities and differences between the Sims 3 and 4 werewolves would be cool.
The only special ability I find for the meteor death is the ghost will imitate the meteor crash moment over and over again but they will survive

TIDAL CYCLE PLEASE because there's moon phases.
and I hope the tidal cycle isn't only affect to mermaid, but also to spellcasters and other occults too (mostly because of moon phases effect)

Don't get your hopes up man. They're gonna make sure the rainbows are perfect for pride, and nothing is offensive or scary before they do anything to technically like tidal cycles. Why do you think the werewolves look like people in furry costumes instead of looking like a classic werewolf?
@@LWolf12 same goes to bonehilda which didn't surprise me at all. it just furry with so many hype. and yes, I used custom pronounce in my game but I preferred to call my sim by their name in that custom pronunciation, not as what confused people do these days
@@EroDhika I forgot about Bonehilda, but yea that is another one. I mean they have made some pretty cool things for 4. Like the reworked magic and vampires. The custom pronouns thing doesn't bother me to much, since it probably doesn't take to long to really do. Depending on how they coded the framework of the game itself. It's more of a sign showing the dev team is more focused on that kind of inclusion development instead of the actual gameplay mechanics.
There is a lot to like with the Sims 4, but it's just so shallow when it comes to true gameplay I find myself just losing focus after a few weeks of playing around with the family I make. Carl's MOD from Carl's Sim Guide help, but the better features is pay gated.

This update and the newest pack are some of the most fleshed out material I’ve seen from the sims team since the release of the game. I am watching this while on my lunch break, cannot wait to go home and play around with it

Nice! I was looking for more info on those lunar phases -- I figured that vampires probably got a boost from new moons, as their thing is DARK energy. XD A real shame the meteorite isn't a collectible, though! I would have added into the space rock collection. . .at least the moon prints look beautiful! Keeping that big observatory relevant. XD

im really sad we still dont have the jellybeans in the sims 4, we have gone through every occult in supernatural except for fairies so im hoping if they come, the jellybeans come with them cuz those were so fun and unpredictable

Just so you know, apparently not all the moon prints are available from the small telescope, but they all are on the big one. James Turner said so in a recent video ^^
Yeah, that's what I said in the video as well! You cannot obtain space/moon prints from the telescope

Huh, that meteorite and telescope connection feels like a message to simmers who asked for the telescope. Or do I just dislike the sims 4 devs?
Same way they dislike the player base...
Honestly, the base game is already so huge and it gets bigger. Imagine if there was an update that took the low reviewed or low content packs and just put them into the game like what skyrim did?

The telescope being completely unusable indoors (where most of us who have one actually use it) is a little absurd... As is the idea that the meteor plummeting right towards you can change it's mind and fly off somewhere else because your mood improved. I'm also not sure why it would disappear either... Such weird gameplay decisions as per usual.
yeah, hopefully there’s a mod that allows us to use it indoors some time soon!

Man, I was hoping the telescope would increase chances for an alien abduction like in Sims 2! It’s still really cool, though, and I’m glad we have a regular sized telescope now.

I've noticed that The Sims 4's terrain paints are always added in pack-related patches, but most of 3's were added in the packs themselves... if I'm remembering right?

I don't know if it only happened to me, but since this last change the game takes too long to load and when you start playing, it stops too many times ☹️
You should review the new high school pack or at least list the updates!

Is anyone else seeing jars of de stressing decoction being left around the grill at the Moonwood Collective hangout? My sim even had a jar left on his porch from his spellcaster sister and she had never been used to make potions when I played her. Hmm...
Is there a grill? Random sims will make them and leave them everywhere! I’ve had this problem for years.

@@itscyberqueen13 nope, it’s a problem from outdoor retreat. That’s where the recipes come from.
It'd be cool if Sims who died by the meteorite could call down other meteorites for their power, like how island spirits or the children of them in Sulani can call down volcanic debris. However maybe make this have a long cooldown, or a very VERY low chance to kill other Sims, so if they do it naturally, all your Sims won't be dying left and right from space homing mistles. x'D
the newest update on origin was that I need a code to play my games but my e-mail acount is so old that its not working anymore...so I can`t play anymore (cryemoji)
